as always, some amazing work here, sorchin. your little island looks spectacular, and the amount of work you put into it is quite impressive. i also like how you have shown a willingness to use empty space instead of crowding everything everywhere. superb job.

Interesting angle you've chosen here, with adding and developing islands off the shore. I like these little causeways, and also all the flora in the water. The development of the little pier area on the last page was nice too.

I made the tutorial building myself (it's still in my plugins, I think, as a library or something...) but I haven't been inspired to do much more with the BAT... although I've been having fun with the LE recently. Hopefully you have more inspiration than I to make some nice creations. 10.gif

Hey Steve. Firstly, let me congratulate you for your progress with the BAT. The tutorial building looks neat.

Also great job with the Macedon update my friend. I really like the new island, especially its shape. Very natural.

    Wow, you have bene active.

I see that anyone can do batting now 2.gif. I still am not going to go that way as I lack the time (1 hour drive from my daily job and a family with 3 little children). But I have to say, you blend in your creations nicely with the area. I like what you did with the boardwalk, making it out of timber. Gives a good impression 44.gif

The new island looks challenging and I have to say the roofed bridge is perfect here!
About those powerlines. Maybe Marrast can help you here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=11665
Beats those small powerplants I would say.

Keep those updates coming, I'm looking forward to them.

Lookin good Steve.  Interesting idea to use the wooden bridges to connect the bigger island to the smaller one and the mainland.  I think it works for the area though.  As with the other smaller island, I look forward to what you will do here.  Also, nice job with the BAT, you got a lot farther on the tutorial than I did....2.gif

Very nice job, Steve. The cathedral is a great BAT indeed and it's nicely edited. But the slope at the stairs looks strange to me (maybe you could use the residential zoning tool to get a more gentle one). I also like the waterfall that starts underground. Very original idea.

Unfortunately I have no experience with nitelights and transit enabling of lots myself. But the missing cars on your parking lots: There are parked cars props in the LE. Have you tried out these?

    Take care my friend.

    Nice work Sorchin.

It looks a bit like a huge toilet flush coming out of the chapel.2.gif

Seriously, I like the combination of PEG's lots. But where does all this water come from? Underground well? Is it sweet or salt? If sweet, why not build a huge water processing plant there? (....mmm maybe not because of the holy water .... time for a new story.... (sorry I am rattling)).

Anyway, each update generates new ideas.

Great Bat work, good luck with the nitelite and carpark 44.gif

    Hey Steve,great work again!

Update 14 with that small island! WOW

I really like the integration of PEG's lighthouse with the pier! 29.gif

I also like your wooden walkways, but I'm not sure about the white texture each side of it! Perhaps some little flowers or more shrubs? I honestly don't know, but the walkway itself is great looking!

Calle Mayor, WOAH! Nice piece of realestate! Superbly done. The only question I have for it is why did you use two kind of retaining walls? why not either the cobblestone one or jeroni's high wealth. (Picky am I today hey! 18.gif )

The overall look is GREAT Steve that was an excellent update.

    Update 15

First, the terraforming of that second island is simply put : BEAUTIFUL! You've done it just so. It looks reallly natural, with gentle slopes, and a small rock outcropping at one end. Very subtle!

I can't wait to see more of that island. And congrats on the results of your bat tutorial, I tried it once or twice but never did anything like this. Very well done.

    Update 16

whew! A lot of work in this one! The Duke chapel is a gorgeous lot, though I agree with Phil about the slope of the stairs. and that waterfall is simply stunning! Have you seen the new waterfall to ocean transition lot on the STEX, perhaps in this case it would complement your waterfalls in a more natural way.

I'm running out of adjective here Steve! 2.gif so I'll summarize it with this word :
    BRAVO!

    Take care man! 44.gif

Woah :S two updates I gotta comment!

well, the island looks good! I hope you will make a beach or something there, seeing as that is something I think this city is still missing.19.gif And the church also looks good, but the one marrast stairs(the one on the left) really looks screwed! It looks like this is still coming along well, and the lot youve made for your bat really looks good!

    cheers

Hey Steve, looking great.  I really like the Church, what a great spot and setup.  The lot looks great as well.  Nice job getting your first BAT onto a lot.  You really don't need to TE unless you really want to.  If you do, the SC4Tool is a great way to do that.  I would suggest checking out the tutorial for TE'ing with ILive's Reader first.  That way, the SC4Tool becomes even easier to use and you have a basic understanding of what is going on.  For the cars, I think it was already mentioned, but you can add cars as props to the lot.  Several of these lots will rotate the cars in and out of the lot to make it look like it is changing.  If you need any help with the lot, just let me know....I'd be happy to help....

    Great Update my friend.

Really like how this is turning out, especially that waterfall near the church. It's a very beatufiul and picturesque city. Can we see a region shot?

Hello everyone. I'm so sorry I haven't been able to update or even respond to comments over the past couple of days as I have been extremely busy with RL. Great comments (and even criticisms)29.gifNik Nik you will be happy to know I totally revamped the entire Duke Chapel area as I agree the rushing water on a small island just didn't look right. I put the whole thing together in 30 minutes at about 4am (EST) when I was basically sleep walking9.gif43.gif. John and Phil you'll also be happy to know I have edited (thanks to some new additions on the STEX) the stairway area as well. Most of the fence props are NOT slope conforming, however buddybuds new fences are44.gif. Also remember 2 weeks ago I didn't even have either the BAT or LE installed on my computer. In other words I'll get better (hopefully) as I go. Dan thanks for your offer to help (if needed)44.gifThanks everyone for your terrific support of my BAT project. You'll all be happy to know I have fixed the lighting problem and I now have cars in my parking lot9.gif I will be properly replying  (and posting an update) to everyone as soon as I can41.gif. My best guess would be sometime Saturday evening43.gif Again sorry for the lack of updates lately. The last two weeks I have spent 75% of my time learning the BAT and LE, so my updates have been suffering a little. I like playing around with all three aspects of the game so updates might not come as much as they have in the past.47.gif I have a few pictures below of the updated Duke Chapel, a stair enhancement of my high street buildings and the BAT update29.gif.

P.S. I have also been bad45.gif not checking the updates of my friends CJ's43.gif I will do my rounds as soon as I can with that as well.

Thanks once agiain everyone for your great support. I really appreciate each and everyone.44.gif9.gif

Steve this is beautiful! 3.gif Where did you get that freshly mowed lawn texture!!!! and all the Duke chapel area is done with exquisite taste! 44.gif And the stairs couldn't be better. While true that such big waterfalls are a bit odd on a island they where nontheless well done.
    Great work man!

Wow, Steve, I'm impressed. The stairs are perfect now. The castle that towers over the little pond of ploppable water looks awesome especially combined with the rocks. And the cemetary behind it is a very nice detail.

Excellent job with that island man.
