Hi

I'm trying to make the JPN sidewalk mod v2 found on this page to work but all I get is A MILLION of brown boxes per tile when I zone or build a road

There's some dependencies listed in the readme as well as links;

I've got NAM, SAM, LRM props pack, MAS71 props vol 01 & 03, and road signs props installed. In the readme it says something about Nekopropsets, the Sapporo subway station, and a bicycle pack from M.Jim but there's no link to that and I couldn't find a thing on internet about these

I tried to run SC4 with only the required files to avoid possible conflicts with anyh othre mod but result is the same.

Somebody here managed to make this mod work?

Thanks for your help,

Neko Panchi's prop packs can be found here (Set 1) (Set 3). The bicycle pack is part of the Sapporo Subway download (Jim's works). I can't seem to find it right now, but without it, the sidewalk set doesn't seem to produce brown boxes anyway (probably just uses props). If I can find it, I'll post the link. In trying the sidewalk set, the items that caused the boxes when absent were the LRM set and Neko's sets.

Edit: Jim's Sapporo station doesn't seem to be on Hide and Seek (as is some of his other items). He did have a Twitter page with links to things, but they don't seem to work any more. Sapporo may have been one of them...

Fantastic mod btw, will definitely kill the running speed of SC4 on my computer :D

    thanks Capt!

Hello, I've got similar problem here. I have the dependencies as mentioned, as well as Neko Panchi's prop pack. Firstly, everything was normal. But the problem appears in September(or October? - forgot) at Fall [CMIIW]. Since the trees are seasonal, the brownbox comes up for Neko Fallenleaf. But doesn't happened to the others trees. They turn normal again in early January (or December end)

Thanks for the answers and i apologize if my English is bad.

It don't work with NWM, so, if you want wired poles on your streets, you must use maxis ugly streets

That's because the creator didn't ready it for NWM networks. ;)

You can use WMP's street's with it if you want a different street texture, it doesnt kill the poles and gives you good sidewalks.

Hey, I hate to resurrect a dead thread, but I'm having trouble with the neko's sidewalk mod and even threw in RHD compatible version by magneto. Still got these boxes propping up every which way. When I put a query over them, the boxes appeared to be manhole props? signal posts, but mostly man hole props which I have no idea where to get. I've downloaded what seems to be necessary (his 1-1/1-2/set02/set03 prop packs) and a bunch other dependencies that included in magneto's edited version. I also have the base files. At first, I though the directories to the mod files may have been too long, but it doesn't seem to be making a difference when I unpack the files in accessible folders (no extra folders).

Could really use some help on this since I'm getting frustrated. Giving a Japanese themed city a try, but at this rate, I'm going to have to settle for a watered down version of the mod (neko's other, less prop heavy street/sidewalk mod that's missing power poles).

    EDIT

    WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

    2b93f00ed9.jpg

I have all of Neko's (stated) prop packs. Am I missing a prop pack or something? I can't seem to navigate his site very well so I'm not sure whether I am or not. Going through this thread and magneto's download page for his modified version tells me I've downloaded everything necessary, but I'm still getting these endless boxes.

BTW - Is the notdensen file download on the page that comes with the Japanese sidewalk mod required at all for it to function?

I see those brown boxes actually neko's prop stuff that I assume something from Neko are missing in your plugins folder.

here the list of Neko's prop pack files link, might you missing one of these:

    http://hide-inoki.com/bbs/archives/sc4_0887.html(prop set  4-1, 4-2 and 5, texture set 1)

    also don't forget this dependency:

It didn't seem to have much effect. The same props are missing but I'm convinced that they're there, the signal posts, guard rails, planters, man hole props and everything else. I downloaded all his prop files, at least the ones relevant, but they're still not working. Could this be a compatibility issue? Are there possibly any conflicting mods this has that I don't know about?

Usually a conflict causes a prop or other item to be replaced, it shouldn't cause brown boxes, that's usually only happening when you have missed something.

Do you have the Light Replacement Mod (LRM Prop Pack), that is another dependency that I don't see listed above?

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. I do. I've long been using a Belgian street light mod that mandelsoft made a while back. Plus when I hover over the boxes, most of the missing props appear to be neko's (man hole prop, guard rails and street planters). I'm really sure I have them, but they don't seem to show up. I've browsed through the 500 files he had in his 1-1/1-2/set03/set04/set05/4-1/4-2 prop packs to make sure. Still no avail :(

Are you sure you not only downloaded but actually installed both files of NekoPropSet01? It comes in two parts, and the manhole covers, guard rails and planters are in there. These are the folders you should have in the NekoPropSet01 folder:

EDIT - Nevermind, as it turned out, I hadn't extracted the files :O Thanks for pointing it out Turjan :)

Oh, I could relate, as I made basically the same mistake during my first installation of that sidewalk mod. I was sure I had everything installed.
