Technopolis was my best city ever in SC3000 I think.

Since this thread seems to be rarely used, I'll just add a few of my own photos of my cities. It's disappointing to see so few users still play SC3KU *:P

All grown cities *;) Yet for some reason, only my European and Asian Cities seem to flourish. I go make an American styled city, and the budget crashes or stagnates *:P

Wow man! They look great. I'm not far away experience level of learner. Got the comcept and fundamentals of the game in my memory. Like i wrote, love ur cities. Im inspired.

I love this game!  I play it usually during the bleak Michigan winter months since the motorcycles are sound asleep and snoring in the garage.

I think at one time, I printed out everything from the Knowledge Tree at SC3000.com, but I can't remember where I put them!  I'm 63-years-old.....so maybe I bulldozed that brain cell?

I had notes on building a marina on land, single tile pump stations, skyscrapers floating on water, etc.....great game tips at that site.  Sad to see so many broken links there today.

Anyway, I love playing this time-sucking, ain't getting anything done that I'm supposed to be getting done, game!  Thanks for keeping it alive here!  :-)

It's peeps like you who can keep it alive too. Add in pics here or start a new topic and let us know how you play and what you do. Toss in any tips you know. *:)

Oh, I'm keeping it alive for sure!  Just torn my house apart looking for those print outs from the SC3000.com knowledge tree and couldn't find them!  Damn!

Who do I contact and what can I do to help fix those broken links at the Knowledge Tree?  Wealth of information there to make the game play interesting.  Like, I can't remember how to make a marina on dry land, but I have cities that I've done that in.....pipe terraforming....this is driving me crazy!!!

Yes, I'll stick some snapshots of the cities I made.  Most are complied of Light Residential with Dense in the center because apparently I like to live in areas like that even though in real life, that just isn't me.  I never have hospitals or schools and things progress right along fine for at least 500 years.

Like I say in my long distance motorcycling challenges......fun game.  :-)

Well, there'd be me for one. (I'm an administrator here which means I have access to lots of behind the scenes buttons.) Moving this forum up to higher visibility was done at my suggestion and is still one of my focus areas (a forum where I get beeped (notified) of any new posts or topics). @Cyclone Boom is another administrator who takes great interest in the day to day well being of the forums and has much greater techy skills for that than I do.

We won't be fixing up the Knowledge Tree over there, but we do have permission from our friendly webmaster (Dirktator) that any of that information can be copied over here to Simtropolis. For broken linkys it would depend on what they link to. If it's supposed to go to any one of the dozens of sites that have fallen by the wayside then there'd be nothing we could do except remove the linkys in a copy here. (Unless said articles could be found and retrieved via the Wayback Machine.)

Seems our image host is being wonky again. I can't see the image atm. (Nothing you need to do tho. They'll hopefully fix their error soon.)

Edit: I see the pic now. So, ofc, I'm curious how you did that. *;)

I'm fairly certain I posted this onsite some somewhere

If you want to raise land value dramatically or just want to have a marina inland for decorations, I have a way to do it.

Use the lower terrain tool and lower an area 3x3 or greater to a depth of 13 meters. Use the query tool to check this. Place the marina in the body of water. Place trees at the shore to maximize effectiveness.

This is a effective and efficient way of raising land because you get two sources of it at the same time: the water and the marina.

Note: Surface water does NOT work; don't try it.

ignore it if it comes up and says

Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.

Application server is busy. Either there are too many concurrent requests or the server still is starting up.

Just re-fresh the page and usually on the second or third refresh you will get the SC3000 article
