Wanted to add a side note to the cement texture mod/change for the rail: I have that texture change mod, and, well, anyone seen concrete farms before?! Not the pretiest of sites to see in rural parts. I figure it replaces one of the maxis textures, that are also used in the farmlands. 8.gif

PS if anyone knows how to fix that, please let me no lol!

Gecks_II: This is from my post about NOB's tram mods on the previous page.

- file switching - NOB's set works and looks best with his cement under rail mod, which only looks good in downtown, urban areas. If you want freight rail serving smaller farming communities, you have to take the mod out when you play those cities.

The more mods you have, the more cases like this there are. I do the same thing with the unidensity streets mod and a few others. It's not too bad - I just have a folder of city-specific mods that I put in or take out of my plugins depending on which city I'm playing. Still kind of a pain though.

I think you can expect a solution to your pains soon. There is currently a hot topic on simforum.de about a startup-manager, allowing for region-specific plugin-folders (as far as I understood it, maybe even city-specific within a region). I have the current beta-version myself, but I didn't have the time yet to work through it, since at he moment it can not really be referred to as intuitive and there's no documentation yet. But when it'll move beyond beta (and after a translation, since it's in german at the moment), I'm sure it will find its way to the STEX as well.

Hi all,
had to work away for a few days. Thanks to all who kept things going. I'll probably be away next week.

RPGHOTGUY: If you look through this thread, you'll find just about every kind of ship, port or seawall lot thing that's out there. Since the thread's gotten so long, a lot of people don't have the patience to do that, but you won't regret it. If you don't have the time, a couple of places to look are Simcityforce BBS: http://homepage2.nifty.com/kamurai/simcity/log.htm and NOB's site: http://tokitoko.hp.infoseek.co.jp/lot_landmark.htm . Look under both Landmarks and Other at NOB's site.

toxicpiano: I just downloaded the file and it works fine. You don't even need to go through the instructions in Eddie's original post, above. The file has apparently been updated and downloads as teibou2.cab. It can be opened with WinRAR.

I'm sorry everyone, I hat it when people do this and I hate doing it, but could someone tell me where to find the red brick wall in this picture:

Hiroshima-CP.jpg

I've been looking for it for a long time, I've searched the forum and looked through this thread quite hard, but I must have missed it. Thanks everyone!

You find the red brick at NOB's site

You find a lot of interesting links in Armandeus' Japanese links.

I would recommend to have a look at NOB's APTX and Somy.

Sorry - Eddiem (the custodian of this thread and speaker of Japanese) is tied up with RL at the moment and the rest of us are kind of filling in as best we can.

The only Japanese flora I know about are NOB's seasonal trees:

There may very well be other items out there. You might want to check the link to Eddie's site in his signature for more places to look.
