Now that is one I liked. As with many good buildings there it was unavailable. I think the good BATters of Japan, migrated to here, at Simtropolis, maybe?

The Fishing village is top notch! There is a link you can download that one from here in this thread above.

I'm looking for these three buildings here. I'm not sure where I got them but, they were in someone's CJ from a post on peg's site from someone looking for a navy boat and I happen to take a look around the site and find these along with some others that I had stumbled upon finding myself, but if anyone can come up with anything to them that would be great as I haven't a clue as to what to search for in the name of them. Thanks in advance.

^now this is 2 images combined because I couldn't find a pic that had the full building in it.

Baby_blue, both the first and third buildings you have pointed out can be found in game with the Rush-Hour expansion pack. I think they are in the Euro building style.

Greetings everyone!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this message, nonetheless, I'd appreciate any replies!

I've been a reasonably active member of these forums long ago, before Rush Hour was released and in the time of the first Lot Editor. However, after some time I stopped posting and consequently playing SC4. (Shame on me 45.gif ) But after a couple of years, I came back and acquired Rush Hour, and discovered so many new tools like the BAT and the new Lot Editor. However, I'm still a newbie in the matter of these new buildings, so here is my question:

Is it possible to work on a city by installing new BATs, in a way that all the American/European looking buildings go away, making the city substantially Japanese-like? I've tried this, but with little success since the small slum ocidental houses still appear at first, and consequently other buildings like that insist on coming. (I live in a small town in Japan, so I know that buildings are really different from the ones that come by default with SimCity 4).

Of course, commercial buildings are similar around the world (including Japan - see the centre of Tokyo...), so they could be used from the other city styles, but I was thinking if other buildings (mainly residential zones) could follow the japanese pattern... 30.gif

By asking this question, I mean, substitute the buildings... or is plopping them the only way that you'd have a true japanese-looking town?

Also, I had an overall look on the links, read some stuff, but could not find any True Japanese Tanbo BAT (Rice Paddies that are everywhere here!). Anyone knows if these exist?

Sorry for the long message. I'd be thankful for any replies. Thank you! 44.gif

Take a look through the pages of this thread, further back you can find replacement houses that replace current SC4 buildings with Japanese style houses and shops. There are paddy fields on this site, search for paddy or JBM (I think that's who made them) on the STEX. Hope that should help you, but I'm sure eddiem will know of more Japanese stuff to help you out.

Before I post the following links, NO responsibility will be accepted for problems with SC4.

If anyone wants to REPLACE in-game growable buildings with Japanese ones, go to this page  and click on the square icons in the table to get to the download pages. This has to be repeated often.
You can also go to  this page on NOB's site where you will find REPLACEMENT housing,  shop and farm sets.
There are some more on Raika's site . Do not click the English link. See image below, this link takes you to a few more REPLACEMENTS.
Note. Not all buildings have been replaced as yet.
I have used them with no problems in a new city.
Eddie.

I'm pretty sure all three images are taken from Olympia, and while buildings n:o 1 and 3 are in-game ones, as noted earlier, the second one is a BAT made by someone, (don't remember who though), which I've improved using the Lot Editor!

Both yes and no!  The image is INDEED taken from the Olympia CJ, and it's visualizing an in-game building - not sure from which set though.

And yes, CSX did make a lot back in 2003 named CSX Services - Girl Friday where they used this particular building.  But NO they did NOT make this building!  In other words,  it's NOT a BAT made by CSX. And it's NOT even their particular lot present in that image! 5.gif

I agree - although I think your comment is uncalled for! 30.gif  This guy's post was in the wrong place to begin with, but there's no need to post a snatch like that!  A question was placed and the answers were given! I can't recall someone given you an authority to decide whether a post is interesting enough or not!

Try to be a bit more polite the next time, thank-you! 22.gif

I think that is where I came across that image in the Olympia CJ... not sure though... any ways thanks for the relpy's. Also the comment made by Eddie

I wasn't sure if these were on the stex, in-game or on one of the sites that you have in your links... I am fairly new to posting in the fourms as I spend most of my time downloading. Also I just asked where I could find the buildings... not what the names of them were, where they are located if they are in the real world, when they were made and who designed them... that info was by anywone how felt the need to post it... I could care less.  As for my post being in the wrong place I'm sorry, however I'm not sure where this topic would fall as I'm not requesting these to be made, just looking for them. Also I just wanted to thank S.A.C, Bee21, and debussyman for the info eventhough I didn't need to know what the building name means. Sorry for the long post and if I offended anyone here... that's not my intention.

You haven't offended anyone! 20.gif  And since you're fairly new to this forum - which I suspected - it's easy to make mistakes!  But then again, no harm done!  Welcome to the Simtropolis forums! 48.gif

I found this picture in a japanese forum:

pic003.jpg

Is this a freight train station? Where can I download it? If not: I am still looking for taller alternatives to the standard freight stations but not the two simple LOT-based stations on the STEX.

It does look like a passenger rail station to me!  I think it's been available for some time now, and I'm sure I have it somewhere.  But I haven't gone through all my downloads for a long time. They're all zipped I'm afraid!

You wouldn't possibly have a name?

I found it on a japanese forum but without a link to download it. There was a link to a ZIP file on the 3RD posting but a single prop only included.

Update: The creator calls hisself Lin. The station itself has a japanese name.

Hmm, I looked for something named Lin in my files but with no luck I'm afraid!  Unfortunately I have almost 3000 zipped files - yet to be opened - so there's no way I could check this out now! 15.gif

AFAIK I understand the bad translation of google from japanese to english, lin wants us to look at his hompage for the download, but I can't figure out where, because everything is about Grantrismo 414.gif

Thanks for the link Goa!  As you pointed out there was a zipped file with only a prop included, but the good thing is that it allowed me to check for the main file, (based on the prop pack name), in my own folders - and what do you know - it turned out that I have that file, (1.3 MB). 48.gif And as I figured, it's more than a year ago it was available! 1.gif
