    Hello again dear Simtropia visitors,

I am glad to see that you like the cargo docks.

Jason, I made some custom BAT for the lots, but none of the cranes is mine 34.gif.

All:  Thanks for the comments and feedback. I followed some of your good suggestions and this is the result

    Extra%20puerto%20carbonero%20MOS01%2001.
    Extra%20puerto%20carbonero%20MOS01%2002.

I am also glad and proud to annouce the arrival of the first Yamashimaro Class cargo vessels to the docks of Simtropia, after a pleasant way from Glen Harbour. Plamer Shipping Co. got a good contract, and since I use the Simoleon mod, money is not a problem 2.gif17.gif !!!. I hope to see tons and tons of coal, salt, cacao and gravel come and go via those incredibly cool looking ships. Special (really special 29.gif 2.gif  ) thanks to MasterPlanMan for sending them to Simtropia  44.gif44.gif !!!

I usually never comment in this CJ because so many others already say what I want to say before I get a chance to say it, but this time I'll go ahead and add my two cents:

Those new shipping cargo lots you're using are very cool indeed. While I understand why you wouldn't release those custom BATS, wouldn't it be acceptable just to credit the maker of the cranes and link them as a dependency, rather than keeping the lots to yourself? You could release them and still properly attribute the crane-maker.

I'm really just jealous, to be honest, and wish I could use them in my own CJ.

Anyway, great updates as always, and congrats on the Trixie win!

    Great Harbour area Jeronij!

(All I'm afraid of is Greenpeace (overly creative there 41.gif) busting yo' ass, because a little wind will blow all you materials in to the open sea, or landinwards for that matter.)

But not only the harbour looks cool, the entire regioon is mindblowing! 35.gif

    See you next time! 40.gif35.gif40.gif

Those Jetties look awesome44.gif, I hope you end up releasing them, you have become one of the better BATers on the STEX and really quickly29.gif. I have tried to use the BAT but have problem creating a box28.gif. I need LEGOS to build with LOL. I just don't understand BAT and how to use it, I could maybe if I was shown 1 on 1 but I can't grasp it by reading and looking a pictures.

    Keep up the great work35.gif

    Jeronij-

It's been a while since I posted any thoughts here, although I have been following your development of your region and your progress learning the BAT tool.  You are doing a wonderful job, all the way around, but, if I may offer just a teensy bit of critisism:

The new jetties/breakwaters are...hmmm...perhaps hastily done?  I like the idea of trying to create a natural-looking breakwater, don't get my wrong there.  I grew up near a seaport that had a rock breakwater and it figures fairly heavily in my memories.  And while I admire your attempts to create a breakwater in SC4, the boxey shapes you used just don't cut it for me.  It reminds me of the movie with Tom Hanks where the FedEx plane crashed and all the boxes in the plane washed up on shore.  The breakwater looks like a bunch of boxy litter to me instead of rocks.

I am not a BATter, so I have no idea how hard it would be to create more realistic rocks.  And, maybe you have planned to go back and make the rocks more irregular in the fine tuning stage...

Just a thought.  If you can create some real-looking rocks, this is definitely something I will use in my CJ, assuming of course that you release it to the STEX

Great lots dude. I would like to see them released as retaining walls though (just the walls no streets of course). Just like the ones you have already released that have corner, diagonal and straight pieces. I could help you out some if it is too much trouble.

How in the world did you know I was thinking that? I was talking to another guy on AIM about rocky shorelines for Simcity. I bet you thought of that because it would match the shoreline with your A Coru

Amigo, I don't know what to say anymore! Each and everytime you succed at surpassing yourself!!! Those are the most real looking breakwater I've ever seen! What is very hard to achieve in those kind of lots is the randomness, and it looks like you achieved a very good result!

I can't say that I'm impressed anymore, It's now the quality we all expect from your work my friend!

    Bravo! 44.gif44.gif44.gif

    Take care!

Rocky things like that are done quite often around here to prevent erosion. Top notch!

    Hello dear Simtropia visitors !!!

A quick post to say THANKS for the comments and compliments 44.gif!!! I see it was a good idea to deal with those breakwaters !!!
I finished them yesterday and I started to use them in one of my cities. Some pics to demonstrate it !!!

Lora, nice to see you again 9.gif , I understand what you mean, but those breakwaters are made of cement boxes, no stones 2.gif , in fact each block has also a metal anchorage in each side ( which can not be seen in game due to resolution limitations). There are some like them in the harbour where I live in Palma de Mallorca, and in each naval installation I know here. I apreciate your suggestions for a future development. A more rural one.

To All: Again a big thanks for the feedback. I plan to post a regular update in a few days  29.gif.

    Next update in progress....

Looks quite nice, especially with your seawalls (which, unfortunately, I don't use much because they don't exactly fit with what I intend 45.gif) But I quite like it.
