Fantastic shots Jenonij. That refinery looks very realistic indeed, i love the way you built around the mountain, very imaginative.

Very nice port!!! That's true it would be rather unsafe if a fire starts and that the only escape goes through all those oil tanks!! 46.gif
(Personally i wouldn't like to be in that situation)
But fortunately, mayor Jeronij thought about everything, and built a second escape route through the mountain! 9.gif

Do you know where i could download that great railyard in the middle of your refinery?? Btw your Refinfinery looks great! But i have the feeling there's something missing... Could use a security check, or a border pass bcos bigger ports are usually international zones, so that the goods don't have to pay taxes if they are only in transit.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!! 39.gif

EDIT : Welcome to page 42!!! 44.gif

Great job on the refinery, Jeronij! The next time I get to play SimCity (hopefully after Christmas), I will look for the cargo and breakwater lots on the STEX.

mcsouse-

Thank you for the illustration!  I can see now why Jeronij made his breakwaters the way he did.

I have to admit, though, that I have never seen anything like this anywhere I have traveled in the USA.  All the breakwaters I have seen here are made of natural stone...

The breakwater in your photo reminds me kinda of a scene from the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks.  All those box shapes look a bit like FedEx boxes washed up on the shore line.

The refinery area looks good. I especially like the part where you put your lighthouse. It is also nice to see that you gave every specific area his own fireboat. In my opinion it gives it an realistic touch.

The lake in Simtropia Hills looks nice. But I just have one question. Which watermod did you use?

I also wish you a happy christmas (prettige kerstdagen [Dutch]).

Jeroni,

This update looks excellent.  I love the look of the oil refinery against the shore line...the only addition I would have made would have been the Natural Gas Refinery...by BSC I believe.  Anyway, it looks great!  Keep em coming... 44.gif

[:Edit:]  You know, if you change the number of replies per page to 20 instead of 30, I would have started page 63!! 46.gif17.gif

Go to  https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=BAT&Str=jrj%20breakwater%20set  to download them.

18.gif I know Jeroni should probably be doing this, but I noticed that he hadn't...

I hope Christmas was great for you, jeronij. Yeah, I didn't even think of a tutorial for the waterbreakers... that sounds great.

Now this may sound like a new member question, but oh well (18.gif), can somebody send a link of the highway that is built by putting two roads by each other? I had the link in my Favorites, but I got a new computer and I lost all my favorite websites on the toolbar. Thanks for anyone who provides me a simple link. (I believe you, jeroni, used the highway in SCR).

Also, I didn't realize I didn't post a single reply in SCR when it was 'alive'. I thought I posted at least one reply because I followed the whole thing (well, from September to the end), but throughout that time I didn't post a single reply. Yeah, I thought it was really odd... I noticed that your style has changed from SCR to Simtropia, but I like this style also and so do a lot of other people... hence that you have over 40 pages!!

Well, Merry Christmas to all (Even thought it is a day later... 30.gif) 29.gif

    Hello, Jeroni.

I must say that after viewing your latest update on your refinery, I'm ready to go out, get a drill and start hunting for that black gold -- oil!

You've really done a wonderful job on what is undoubtedbly one of the dirtiest of the dirty industries.

    22.01 through 22.06
I like the way you have it spread out on the jutting peninsula as well as how you have a number of fireboats strategically placed around the refinery.  God knows you will need them if any of those tanks catch fire.

Are all of the BATs/Lots/Props you've used available on the STEX or do you have some of your own custom ones in use?  I especially like the rows of tanks (big and small) and the cracking towers.

I would imagine the view from the top of the rock hill behind the refinery would give a wonderful view of the facility.  You might think about contracting a helicoptor crew to install a radio antenna on top of the that hill.

    22.07 through 22.09
I can only imagine how hard it must have been to blast that tunnel through the rock hill -- hard and very dangerous, I'm sure.  From the picture (22.07), I can't be sure where the other end of the tunnel is?  I can find the refinery end but not the opposite end.

I can certainly see the repeating buildings, however; I don't think it looks preliminary at all.  Quite frankly, you've really buit a very complex facility.

    22.10
What a wonderful picture to close out this update!  This is a beautiful lake -- quite serene yet, very rugged countryside.  Excellent work, Jeroni!

    Regards,

    Vandy

Amigo that last update of the refinery was simply extraordinary! as usual your attention to details is striking.
The only sacrifice you made to reality though would be the tunnel for dangerous material, usualy they forbid that kind of transport in tunnels because it would be very difficult to rescue people in case of an emergency (explosion or fire). But hey! we're in a game so we'll call this the artist choice!

I'm always awed by your dedication and mastery of this game.

Take care my friend, and best wishes to you and family for the new year to come!

    John

Long time since last post; too much other stuff to do and no time for SC4 7.gif.

I new this Refinery city would become a great addition to Simtropia, but I had no idea - you just don't cease to amaze me 19.gif.

I mean, the layout of the roads (that highway intersection area, oh man) - simple yet ah so beautiful, the buildings and the overall symmetry and feeling of the place - just marvellous. And the attention to detail...

And one thing I like especially; if there's nothing available to suite whatever it is you think you need to fill in a spot, you create it yourself 10.gif. Now that deserves some credit 35.gif.

    Hello, mcsouse.

Thank you for your reply letting me know where to find the ends of the tunnel.  I really appreciate your doing this.

By the way, Wally can be found by locating his very distinctive red and white striped hat.  It should be  easy to spot that!
