Jeronij!

It's been a while since I've commented in here, sorry about that.. doesn't mean I'm not lurking around here, hehe. 19.gif

The port you've been constructing is absolutely stunning, excellent work. The crane models are amazing as well, looks great along the water, hm? 1.gif

Its really good how you intergrate your BATs into your city journal to show off your development. The seaport is looking really good.

Jeronij-

I have to admit my personal experiences with breakwaters doesn't include the types of constructs you have made or described.  I've seen the wired up boxes of waste concrete and/or rocks you describe used in highway construction here in the USA as retaining walls, but I have never seen them used in a shoreline application.  It's interesting to learn that this method is used Europe, and very posibly outside of my knowledge in the USA.  Makes perfect sense.

Fantastic updates44.gif.  Thanks for tutorial on making a port.  I will definitely use it in my region.  You keep inspiring me to new heights.

I have question for Sloppet. How is it that you seem to start the majority of the pages in this journal?  You must sit at your computer and watch people post.30.gif  Anyway just giving you grief.3.gif

Idvger, I can show you a couple of breakwaters used in Tenerife (Spain). They are the type of construct made by jeronij:

Hello, Jeroni, my friend.

First of all, my deepest apologies for not being a more frequent visitor and poster to this wonderful CJ.  Unfortunately, I have allowed Real Life to interfere with my netFriends.  I know that may sound odd but I do count my netFriends among those people who are most important to me and it is a physical HURT when I cannot correspond with and be part of their netLives.

Okay...

Before I comment on Simtropia, I would like to extend to you my heartfelt congratulations on your Trixie awards.  If my math is correct, you received two awards (Best City Journal and SimTropolis Heart Throb) as well as eight Nominations and two Honorable Mentions.  Your awards truly relfect your talent and dedication to furthering our love of SC4.  And, if I may be so bold, Simtropia is well on its way to another Trixie in 2006!

Now...

Jeroni, you certainly have not dissapointed anyone in your new CJ, Simtropia.  While I haven't commented much, I have waited in anticipation for and have read every update.

Your talents and skills in creating a City Journal are absolutely wonderful!  You don't just build a region; you make it come alive!

From your rural areas, through your cities and towns and, now, your seaports and refineries, I am consitantly and constantly amazed at how beautiful your regions are created and developed.

Thank you, Jeroni, for these wonderful times of reflection and relaxation that I experience everytime I read your CJ.  You have given the community, in general, and myself, specifically, such a wonderful way to enjoy SC4.  I do appreciate all of the time you spend in creating this CJ masterpiece as well as am very thankful for the tutorials and very well detailed pictures that can be not only viewed as some of the best SC4 art I've seen but as an excellent technical presentation of how to build a region.

Finally, I would personally like to wish you and your family a wonderful Holiday Season.  May your Christmas be Merry and your New Year be happy.

Warm Regards,

Vandy

In the end you will see, You is you and me is me.

Great Jeronij. YOu not only give inspiration to many, you also help put up custom content on Simtropolis that is spectactular, functional and definetly realistic. One question, even though I know you hate doing this, but where did you find that rail depot with all the rusty trains. (somewhere in the Japanese BAT thread I presume.) and adios Jeronij, Yo quiero mas BAT's. I learned Spanish cause my sister speaks it and am still suffering with it, however it is similar to Russian phonetics, where I was born.2.gif

Really nice update. 18.gif I didn't even notice the box until you mentioned, but I guess mcsouse can find out that stuff. Yeah, like others said, I can't wait for you to put those rocky shorelines on the STEX because as soon as you release them I'm going to put them in my upcoming CJ. I love how you ended the update with that nice majestic hill. Feliz Navidad right back at you. Can't wait for the next update as usual.

Well, the seaport looks awesome as always.

Shadow_Assassin, I am sorry that you cant use the walls, but I am sure you can find some one in the STEX that fits your needs

    No problem. 2.gif
Though, a seawall type that would be nice would be one that fits perfectly into any grass low density residental area (I dunno why, but concrete just doesn't fit. 18.gif) - this could be an idea, eh? I know I'd definitely use your breakwalls, though. I've already set aside a lovely place to put em.

    Cheers!
