Just a gut feeling, the guy has been getting the Howard Hughes treatment for a while now. Who knows when he really died.

Funny coincidence that this happened at the exact moment the last US troops left Iraq too. What a weekend its been in the news.

He's dead, and people will surely dance on his grave. But it's not like they can't just pop his son onto the throne and continue the show...or is it?

According to this article, his son is a 20-something who started his career as a four star general.

I imagine that the real four star generals didn't like that very much.

They're just going to pass down leadership of North Korea to his son, Kim Jong Un. I highly doubt North Korea shares our method of voting leaders in.

The surreal part will be watching the outlandish display of exaggerated public weeping on the streets of P'yongyang. Kim Il Sung's funeral procession in the '90s was almost hysterical as loyal citizens tripped over themselves to dutifully show their devoted grief before the state cameras.

The wonder is in deciding if it is all brainwashing by the State, or pragmatic, self-preserving acting by a citizenry fully aware of the State's expectations.

From the news videos, it looks like the theatrical national catharsis has already begun, or is it really just Oscar season...

He Died but Kim Jong-Il left a successor which is his youngest son Kim Jong-Un...but he is like a weakling meaning Kim Jong Il's death might be the start of the collapse of their communist regime in North Korea and may finally be a way for Democratic Unified Korea...God Bless the Koreans

At first I found all the public mourning a little disturbing, but after seeing it more and more on TV over the last week and a bit, it actually seems kind of comical now.

One guy in particular had really bad acting skills... as soon as the camera turned on him it looked as if he was trying to fake a seizure.
