Look at these "plazas" lol... I missing LOTS of things.  This at the highest detail level.

Clearly I had some problem with installation.  I'm going to install, reinstall, install NAM and then go from there.

This is likely quicker than than any further trouble shouting.   4.gif  I know that the problem in a core one, so too the heart I shall go.

Thanks, and I'll let you know! 4.gif

The RTMT Add-On Pack V3.60 has been updated so that the SAM Station main menu items now have translations for all languages supported by SC4, with the exception of Italian and Norwegian.  Those will be added if and when we find translators for them.

If you are updating an existing installation, you merely need to replace the file SAM\RTMT_SAM_Locales.dat with the one from the same folder in the Core Add-On Pack in the current upload.

Brown boxes usually indicate missing model files. Do you have the model folder installed with the appropriate files?

Later:

Looked at a few things to refresh my memory... With your file setup, it looks like you'll need the models for the Ninja station and the Big Blue along with the ones in the download. And props from Gascookers pack (It's a LEX download). Hope this does it for you...

It would help to know what version of RTMT you tried to install. If you used the installer version, did you run two of the three exe files (main RTMT and Single Porp or Prop Family).

It might also help to know what options you chose or desire for the lot. Check the Readme to see what the required model files are for the things you want to appear on the lot. Let us know...

A couple thoughts...

First, if you used the Installer version of the RTMT (and ran the PropFamily installer). I believe that the file RTMTV3_Prop_PhoneBooth_BlueYellow is placed in the Props folder by default, giving you that type of phone booth, not the red shelter one. You are able to change props if you want by getting the manual version of RTMT and do a little file swapping. Plus, missing prop files just means the props won't appear. Their absence shouldn't cause brown boxes. So...

Second, since you used the PropFamily installation, did you also get the needed dependency for it that is mentioned in the installation procedures (Suburban Bus Stop Set by Simgoober)? That could be the cause of your brown boxes since you need the model file from that set. Of course, if you've done any customization, you might need another file.

Sorry to interrupt the discussion above, but I was curious if there were any plans to turn these road top mass transit things into a mod. In real life, there are but stops every few hundred yards (or metres, if you're a determined Brit) and it is downright annoying to put all of these manually throughout your city. I was thinking maybe every intersection could double as a bus stop. This would take a load off of players and in game road networks.

This would not be easy to do - you'd be mixing networks and lots. Also, I've seen no demand for it. It is definitely beyond the scope of what RTMT will be doing in the foreseeable future.

I'm unsure if this is the place for RTMT requests, but I am looking for stations for the tram-in-road (grass) and tram-in-avenue (grass) networks. I see that there are ones for all the other GLR dual networking networks, and this would complete them. It just looks weird to have pavement in many places in the middle of tram-on-grass networks where there is a station.

Yes, this is the place for RTMT requests, and for everything else connected with RTMT.

Right now, there are no plans for the stations you mentioned; we're limited by manpower vs. the number of stations that are highly desired. If more demand for these stations emerges (or if we get more developers), we can put them on our list of things to do.

When I plop an RTMT GLR-in-avenue station, I always get the "modern GLR station" (I think it's Simfox's) prop, even though I have followed the instructions in the readme to temporarily remove all the other PropF_GLR files besides the Gshmails one, which is the one I'm actually trying to get.  In my desperation, I tried removing the APropBase for the Modern station (the file name of which I noticed is prefixed by RTMTV3 instead of RTMT like all the others), but still Simfox's station was the only prop that appeared when I plopped the RTMT GLR-Avenue station (of course, I did not save the game after doing this).  If it matters, I use the RTMT addon pack that contains the GLR dual networking to subway transitions and SAM bus stops, as well as some sort of pack of RTMT tram-on/in-road stations, for which I use a single prop setup.  EDIT:  On further inspection, when I have all of the PropF files in the props folder, I get Simfox's GLR station with Cogeo's modern short or long station right on top of it.  A picture of this is attached.

Here's the entire Props folder for RTMT:

I have been looking into this, and I have found an error in the IDs assigned to the newer shelters, which appears to be what's causing your problem. I'll get back to you with a fix as soon as possible, hopefully later today.

I love the RTMT. However I really don't like how residential lots can not grow behind them. Any mod to get around this? Any help or suggestions?

Unfortunately, there is no mod possible that will completely fix this problem - lots simply are not treated the same way as networks by the game.  However, there are many workarounds, and with a little practice, you can find that these stations do not have to interfere with your buildings at all.  The workarounds are described in detail in RTMT FAQ #1.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but there actually turned out to be several bugs involved here, and it took a while to get them fixed.  They have all been corrected in the new version of the RTMT Add-On Pack V3.60 that I've uploaded onto the STEX.

The bugs affect only those people who wish to customize their GLR-in-Avenue stations.  For those who don't, nothing need be done.  But for those who do, and who have already installed the older version of the RTMT Add-On Pack V3.60, you'll need to do the following:

  1. Download the newest version of the add-on pack, linked above.
  2. In your main RTMTV3 folder, you'll have a file whose name begins "RTMTV3_LotsAGLR_".  You need to replace this file with the identically named file from the Core Add-On Pack zip file from the download.
  3. In your Props subfolder of your RTMT folder, you'll need to replace all the files that begin "RTMT_" with files whose name is the same, except that their name begins "RTMTV3_".  These files can be found in the Optional Components zip file in the download.  Renaming the files is not sufficient, as the contents of the new files are different.
  4. Set up your Props folder so that it is ready to build the stations you want, either in single prop or prop family mode.
  5. Once this is done, start up your city.  Some or all of your GLR-in-Avenue stations may have no shelter on them, or may have the wrong shelter.  These need to be bulldozed and replopped.  However, from this point on, everything should work perfectly, just as described in the Readme file.  For users who download this file for the first time, that should also be the case.
Once again, my apologies for this problem.  These bugs show up only in certain cases (they can be masked by various configurations), and they apparently slipped through our testing.  But I have personally verified that things work properly now.

I don't if this is the right place, but i've used the installers. I installed the first one, and then the single prop families installers to the default locations it provided me and also to Sim City 4/Plugins . Neither have been successful. I managed to get the tile working in game, and it acts as a bus station, but cannot be placed on a road and doesn't show the bus stop model. What am i doing wrong with the install? It seemed so simple..

Yes, this is the place for support questions. Do you have either Sim City 4 Deluxe or the Rush Hour add-on pack, and do you also have the EP-1 patch from Maxis that followed that? These are the most likely sources of your problem that I can think of.

Just the regular Sim City 4 with the latest patch. Is that why? Need SC4 Deluxe or Rush Hour to make it work?

Yes, definitely.  You will also need the EP1 patch, which you can find here.  All of these are needed for most custom content on the STEX and elsewhere, including the NAM.

HI, have installed as shown in the readme, I'm having a problem with the DAMN root menu. When I try to go to the root menu i get a list that reads something like;

DAMenu.getLinkText(0,1)

DAMenu.getLinkText(0,2)

etc...

I have repeated the installation a number of times now to make sure I've done it correctly but I'm still getting this list of 'links' instead of the root menu.. any ideas where I might have gone wrong?

EDIT: Full reinstall fixed the problem. Thx.

A manual version of RTMT is available here (Link). Be sure to read the installation instructions carefully. It may seem a little over-whelming, but it can be done. And, as always, post any questions here.

Pleez help...I'm sad almost to tears that I can't get the GLR or passenger train to work (in UDI) with the underground rail connection. I connect the GLR rails to the rail-under-road pieces seamlessly using the Tram-in-Road to U-Rail/Subway piece, yet neither a GLR train or a passenger rail train will continue in the tunnel under the road. I'm confused, because I know that I can both run trains through the rail under road, and run GLRs on Passenger Rail track as long as the tracks are properly connected. What's going wrong????

...or perhaps I have an unclear understanding of what underground rail really is. Can someone help clear this up????

As owl_greene noted, these transitions also have an underground rail connection.  UDI should work in this mode, but it doesn't.  I've looked at it and tried figuring out why, but without success.  Nevertheless, we should be able to get this functional, and we'll let everyone know when we do.
