The design looks good! It should be a useful addition, and I can also imagine that this would look good in a few different versions for more variation.

However, I spot several technical problems. You have some overlapping geometry there - for example, on the chimney and at the corner. You should never have two objects or surfaces occupy the same spot - among other reasons because it will cause graphical glitches. The renderer will not know which object to put in the foreground and which one to put in the background. Pretend you're doing it all with wooden boards and blocks: You couldn't simply stick a board through another one, either. Instead, you'd have to make a hole, or saw one of the boards in two pieces and glue both ends to the other one.

Lovely looking row houses I can wait to see more of them in the future, and what is your floor height on each floor of these houses?

Looks nice, do you have snap turned on? that might help eliminate some of the overlap you're experiencing.

    3m is not nearly enough...

Most of the game content has been stretched up vertically "too offset game perspective squashing effect" (a loose quote from original BAT manual - have you red it?) Said manual actually suggest scaling of 1.5-1.6 times along the Z. These number are generally considered far excessive as they no simply "compensate" but, in fact go overboard in that direction. The number 1.3-1.33 would in fact, produce "perfect cube", hence totally eliminating "squashing". So I would really suggest generally not exceeding that value. That being said we do have some additional issues with smaller structures. Namely that the Sims are very, very tall - far in excess of normal (even north-european) average height multiplied by that 1.33 coefficient. Best estimates of Sims height are about 3.5m tall - 2x the height of an average US male. So here we have a problem - how to keep overall proportions of the buildings right yet keep them proportionate to the Sims waling by. '

One solution is to exaggerator GF of the structures, or (although may as well be and) remove structures from immediate contact with Sims by setting them farther into Lots.

Anyway for a building like that I would expect the real height of the floor being somewhat in the region of 3m - the actual interior height of the ceiling plus the the thickness of the ceiling itself. May as well be even more. But if we agree on 3 m "real height" this would make about 4m "adjusted height". For the GF I would go for about 5m or so.

This said you really need to see how it would fit with like buildings already common in the game,

Looks nice, I would darken the roof texture a bit and maybe model those storefronts instead of just texturing them.

Must be tough getting criticism and advice from some of the best like simfox, but I guess theres no better way to learn, then to learn from the best, a few in this forum are somewhere in that list. The scale was definitely corrected, and you seem to pick up on suggestions and advice very quick, Im shocked its very good for a first time bat. You must have had some sort of relevant previous experience? Where did you learn from which tutorial or which user? And what programs did you use?

I think the roof texture needs some work. Those yellow splotches are yucky and the whole thing is a bit too bright. The model itself looks fine, although the skylights seem to be one big panel, not really realistic.

    3dsMax is a lot better, I agree 2.gif I'm sure glad I switched.

this latest one looks good, just keep in mind there a lot of details on a construction site that you'll have to add. It also looks like there's a few interior walls near the top, but those are always done after the exterior of the building is complete. That crane looks really good, by the way.

Do I spy a version 2 of your market there?
