Green Depra is one nation of many Depra Nations.  Together they form a collective known as the Depra Circle.  There are eight nations in total, they include Gold Depra (the capitalist powerhouse), Red Depra (Always in Autumn), Blue Depra (The land of the Sea), Purple Depra (the Party Capital), Yellow Depra (The Sunshine Country), Orange Depra (More than just deserts), Grey Depra (they are quite neutral) and Green Depra (The Land of Nature).  For a complete guide to all the depras visit  page 23.   This CJ is devoted to just one of those nations, the smallest, and the newest, Green Depra.

circle2.jpg

The Depra Circle was formed long ago.  Before the Circle, there was the ancient lands of Black Depra and White Depra, these lands are lost, and exist only in the stories.  The Ancient Depra lands fought for thousands of years, millions died, and countless suffered.  When there was no-one left to fight, they made peace.  The few hundred which were left alive banded together, and swore never again to destroy so many lives needlessly.  Enlightened, they left their war-torn lands and moved forth into the new world.  Many countrys were made, and a millenium later, the world had indeed changed.  The Circle was built on the idea of a free and peaceful world for everyone, but it would not be until the tiny nation of Green Depra was formed, that people really realised that goal.

Now, Gold Depra, the largest nation sent forth its many ships, loaded with people from across its lands to settle in a new continent.  Gold Depra was crowded, its cities clogged with tall skyscrapers and factories.  Many of its citizens wanted change, they wanted a new world to settle in.  That new world is the untouched land of Green Depra, with its Green Hills, dark tree lines.  The first settlers landed on an East Island, later to be known as Black Ash Island.

A recent surveyer has come back with these airial shots of the new, unknown land.

The North-West Mountains:

And Finally, the South-West Mountains:

Thank you for reading the first part of my CJ.  I am chocolatemax and I would love any comments!  Stay tuned for updates very soon all about the new development of Green Depra.

Cheers, choco.

    Update 1:

    Green Depra

The movement west - The colonisation of Black Ash Island.

It was cold on the Fifth of June, when the great white ships of Green Depra sailed towards the Island, named by its discoverer Povata Bontevo as Black Ash.  This huge group of ships was known as the Depra Fleet, and carried the materials needed to set up a new community whilst keeping as much of the environment as pristine as possible.  The Deprovians realised the error of their ways in Gold Depra and decided to create a 'green' nation, one of little pollution.

    BlackberryInlet-Jan.jpg

The first thing they created was a simple port on the coast of this beautiful island:

    BlackAshIsland-May.jpg

They quickly set up streets and railroads for the farmers.

    BlackAshIsland-Apr5.jpg

Farms popped up all over the Island

    BlackAshIsland-Apr4.jpg

And quickly residents of Gold Depra moved out of the big smoke to get a taste of the country air and of their new world.

    blackashisland02yn1.jpg

    blackashisland03ij4.jpg

    blackashisland04lv7.jpg

    blackashisland05mz0.jpg

The Island quickly became known for its great farms, and started sending produce back to Gold Depra and Red Depra.

    blackashisland201ye7.jpg

    blackashisland202gg2.jpg

    blackashisland203im1.jpg

    blackashisland204so9.jpg

A helicopter from Gold Depra flew in to take an arial shot of this new thriving farmland, this photo was published on the cover of the largest Gold Depra newspaper 'Depra Daily' and popularity of this region has picked up.  Huge demand has increased and there is a call for a major development on the mainland.

    Black-Ash-Island-Sep2.jpgblackashislandsepse4.jpg

That concludes todays update, please keep watching as more news comes forward on Black Ash Island and Blackberry Inlet.  Thank you for your comments, keep them coming!

@sirgeoj2, yes I worked very hard to make a unique landscape and make the trees a real feature.  It took along time, I will show you soon about the major infistructure and how it worked on the terrain.

    Cheers!

NOTE:  This update was edited on the 16th of May, 2006 to include new mosaics and a higher standard of picture quality.

Oh...my...God. Your region is absolutely stunning, and the first update was spectacular. Your little town looks great with the redbrick streets, and the farms look especially nice. The trees in-between farms are a nice touch. Keep up the good work!

Hey, chocolate! Turn about is fair play, so I decided to come take a look at your region.

Very nice stuff. I'm curious why you decided to set it up with the patchwork look of the trees? Or did you just leave blank the places that would have buildings?

Thank you all for you gracious comments, I will respond to them at the end of my posts.

    Update 2:

    Green Depra

The movement west - Eyes move to Blackberry inlet.

After the settlement at Black Ash Island demand has grown and the start of a township has begun on the mainland, but before we get into that let me show you the growth of Black Ash Island.

    BlackAshIsland1.jpg

And after the farmers arrived, as you can see a large effort has been to conserve to original environment:

    BlackAshIslandFarm1.jpg

Unfortunately, the development on the mainland was rushed, it was rushed to quickly allow for the people who desperately wanted to leave the smog of Gold Depra.  Because of this the design was far too simular to that of Gold Depra, it was ugly and the company which did it destoyed much of the original trees and all the original tree lines.  Once these photos were sent back to the lords and leaders in Gold Depra, there was outrage.

    Blackberry-Inlet-Apr4.jpg

After the anger of the depra government, the first law of Green Depra was placed down to ensure the mistakes of Gold Depra would not be repeated in the new land of Green Depra.

All development in the land of Green Depra must abide by the law.  The new law states that all contruction and development must not destroy or be built apon the existing tree lines of Green Depra.  None of the tree forests or tree lines shall be demolished excluding for that of city infustructure or exceptional circumstances.  Permits for destructuction of original trees must be passed by the Planning Council.

So to follow this new law, contruction begun to create some major roads.  These roads dispite being destructive to trees, it will make it easier to people around, especially when conserving trees is a priority.

    Blackberry-Inlet-Apr.jpg

So the growth continued westward, but now in a different fashion, talk has even begun of a seperate government being created for Green Depra.  More on that later.

That concludes todays update, more tomorrow.

@freedo50, yes I did do it all by hand, the terrain took a long time but connecting the trees correctly took forever.

@SongwindGlobal, I set up the patchwork trees for something different and unique, after a while I loved the affect and continued doing it throughout the region.  I had no idea what I was going to do for building in it at the start, but from what you've read in this update you'll find I plan to build in between the trees and keep their great shape.

@bazzuka, thank you, its not availiable for download, I made it inside the game so there is no copy, plus its the trees that make this region so a download wouldn't be as great as it looks.

@everyone, thanks very much for your comments.

    Cheers, choco.

I'd noticed that too, Shadow, but I think it looks really nice, you should keep everything like that! Good work on the latest update, even ugly towns like that can be beautiful in the right settings! Those Euro tenements are sure interesting looking...anyways, keep up the great work.

you noticed! Yeah, I brightened them a bit, and contrasted them a bit. Just to make them look nicer. The region shots were quite dark without it. Expect an update today or tomorrow. Cheers

I have to agree with everyone else on the landscape. It looks like it came out of Final Fantasy or something, VERY COOL!

Not to be mean or anything, but most of your population seems poor. It deosn't do you justice! Try biulding 1 school and 1 clinic near the middle to get some upper classs sims moving in. Middle and upper class sims have birght green lawns, and usually come with special little trees or shrubs, further blening in with your awesome scenery. It just makes me sad to see all those poor sims in a rich envoirenment.

Nice start with some nice farms and a nice low-rise smalltown. I just don't like these red brick streets ...

About your poor Sims: install some schools and parks and wait. Then it'll change ... 2.gif

    All in all: Great work!
