Playing Tomb Raider Legends, I came across a ridle where some words stand for colours, and they were:

Blue = Cerulean
Gold = Topaz
Red = Crimson
Green = Veridean

There's a nice name, and related to Green Depra. Another names I could think of:

Chloreus - Greek word for green
Viridis - Latin for green

A shrub name in latin - Alnus Viridis (Green Alder)

Cap Verd - Cape Green in Catalan

Caprici Verd - It's a hotel name, but it sounds nice.

BTW, nice mosaic. Looking forward for your next update.

Cheers,
Rayden

Great pictures and great region!

I don't have names for a city, sorry...

O.K. here are two names:

1. Green Orac/ Green Orac city

2. Uri  (it's one of the three wood cities in the drama "Wilhelm Tell" - the others are "Unter Walden" and "Schwyz")

I think, all these names are good names for a new, green city in Green Depra !

hey, you know the Berkshires in NYC? well, how about this: Juneshires? y'know, like June? it must be perfect there in June. or, quite possibly Vega Verde, a Spanish Settlement in GD.

As usual gorgeous pic Max,

As for city names, here's a few ideas from the top of my head:

Aldarion = The name of the heir Tar-Meneldur of Numenor

Cabed-En-Aras = Meaning Deer's Leap (a narrow point in the Ravines of Teiglin)

Mithlond = City on the coast of the gulf of Lhun

All Tolkien inspired of course! 2.gif

Take care!

I always liked your updates. Those mosaic look really cool.

I would name a city of Green Depra:

Zöldfok (which means Cape Green in Hungarian /the official language of Liberty Islands/)

or

Zöldváros (which means Green City in Hungarian)

but maybe

Zöldszabadság városa (The City of Green Liberty)

These are my suggestions.

Good ol' Liberty Islands! Someday, I'll repost my old CJ.

I have some town names for you:

-- Asperata City (Asperata is a link to "spruce trees" scientifically)

-- Torano (Another scientific name for spruce trees)

-- Mariana (Another scientific name for spruce trees)

Some other ones I came up with that relate to green/trees.

-- Birchwood

-- Cedarhill

-- Mapleton

Hope this gives you some ideas!

I guess it wouldn't hurt to throw my hat into the ring:

Paludverde- italian; contraction of palude and verde; green marsh/green glen... I  thought of this while looking and the river/stream area to the left of Canilla.

Cedar Ridge- if I recall, you were using Cycledogg's red cedar for most of the tree design of the original map and it looks like there will be plenty of ridges to develop.

Shempton Meadow- just had to throw in a three stooges reference.

Can't wait to see who wins, and moreover, to see what you will do with it.

Wow I missed update 38. Great update, nice embassy and a very beatifull mosaic.

As far as names for new towns goes.

I decided to check your whole CJ for the names you have so far ( 46.gif dazling 41 page!). I found the following names:

Black Berry Inlet, Salt Bluff, Fur Hills, Green River, Furnace Cliff, Wilminkton and Canilla.

A new name should be fitting these names. A name such as:

Forest Run

Green Dale

Pine Reach

I would also like to point out that the regions mentioned on page 7:

Isabella Mountains

and

Stone Marshes

are not mentioned anywhere else, so these two names might make up for a good new city name.

Also a name might be after the founding father: Ponata Bontevo such as:

Ponata Peeks

Bontevo Bay

or just simply:

Ponata

Bontevo

Finally, you being from Downunder I checked some aboriginal names:

Gaba Gawarrawarr = Good green (or simply Gaba)

Wugan Gawarrawarr  = Green tree (or simply Wugan)

Thawun Gawarrawarr  = Green Earth (or simply Thawun)

Good luck with your choice.

Nik-Nik

awesome work Choco, I love that divided avenue it looks great and the park arround the embassy and school is simply great not to mention that the green you add to your cities make them looks pleasier and cooler than the average.

About the names well, I'm not very creative, but lookin into Green Depra map, that's what came into my mind:

Dalphins Cove (for thos area in the north east or south west)
Naturalia (something with Nature)
Deprian Hills
Ambiopolis (Meio Ambiente from portuguese -means Envoirment and Pholis from Greek - city)
Pine Mountain

well that's it.
