Haljacky

Thanks for the tips, I'll go along and fix up the four laning to two lane transition of State Highway One as it leaves Solaria.

In the meantime this is some I manage to whip up to replace the Ave/RHW Roundabout

SH1RHWRoundabout.jpg

This is using the NAM roundabout along with my IPS Roundabout Filler Series found here

Goes great but I would say that intersection for the flagship highway could present some problems in its own right 17.gif

As for the Transportation Map modd, that is Constin [errr how you spell the rest of his name] modd from 2003, not sure if it is still there in the STEX.

Anycase I'll click your signature links and see what I can find for these transitions pieces

Okay, well if somebody could correct me, I think Constiana was booted off ST and SC4D but Im honestly not sure. If thats the case, Im sure anything she uploaded to the STEX is locked.

I have noticed work on the 4 to 2 lane transition at SC4D

At this time, there are no T21's for the RHW-4 > RHW-2 transition.  But I'm not going to rule any out for when it's released.

The MIS is will only work with RHW. It is fully pathed and functional. My understanding is that its an override of the standard RHW using a starter puzzle piece, much like the draggable GLR. I don't know exactly what pieces will be available in Beta v1, but I DO know that fully functional diamond interchanges will be possible.

How exactly do you make the two way RHW, that is only 1 tile wide and only has two lanes, one in each direction? I can't seem to find the A.N.T. network. How, how? Thanks for any answer!

CowboySean: Download the 2-Lane RHW texture from my signature and you will have it! (well, as long as you have the NAM, NAM Essentials, and RHW already installed).

BigSlark: True, diamond interchanges will be possible, but the in-game highways can do that already. With the MIS, the first release should enable us to make other 2 level interchanges such as Parclos or whatever your imagination decides!

Ok the RHW and all its work seen at SC4D is coming along well with Tarkus working night and day on the ramp system

Mean time I am going to show case some RHW Addons I made myself that make the RHW more realistic

RHWandtheRestStops.jpg

Those are my IPS Rest Stops which can be found on the STEX (link on previous page (or two)). The Large Gas n Rest Stop is going under redevelopment and is hence not here shown

Haljacky's texture modd does work, errr just not well with euro textures 3.gif

So here is my Palpatine 4 thumbs up 44.gif (47.gif) to the RHW guys on making highways for non high density areas more realistic

Great Work

Be looking foward to the next update

Great Workquote>

Not just low density areas, it will make high density areas look even more realistic!

Heres a quick snapshot of the my Multi-RHW, which can be made with the current release (version 0.13b)..  Just wait till the MIS comes out!

Click the Image for FULL RESOLUTION!

Think about it this way: before, the RHW only looked good in high-density areas because of the pavement. This has changed now, with the addition of wealth-dependent textures. This has the effect, too, of making those high density areas look good!

Your multi-highways, though, will look even better with the RHW6, RHW8 or RHW10 when they're released.

Well, the in-game highway diamond interchanges are very unrealistic, since the on/off ramps don't properly intersect with the crossing road/avenue, whereas with the MIS there's a proper intersection with stop signs/traffic lights.

Hopefully the first release will also include an intersection with a one-way road, for those people who use frontage roads extensively. 3.gif We might even be able to make interchanges with other RHWs, as you could do a full cloverleaf, but one of the RHWs would have to transition to a tunnel or something to go under the other one.

Hmmm ok I'll admit they look great in High Density Areas as well, depending on how well the MIS goes is dependent on where I redo all the ground highways, Benson Road and some parts of State Highways One and three running through the core as the EL highway can be visually disruptive

I just have to ask this, considering some diagonal transit items were forgotten/left out

really, not a stupid question.

the MIS will work when the rhw is on a diagonal right?

@xmike1991: You know what? Thats a good question! I never thought about that...my hunch is that as long as you rotate it like any other puzzle piece, it should work. But Tarkus left us here at ST, you'll have to go to SC4D in order to get an answer 2.gif

xmike1991: Yes it will. However, if you are making an on/off ramp, it may be only orthogonal for the first release. I have yet to see a on/off ramp on the diagonal RHW, but that doesn't say that there is not going to be one!

JCarter: Alright, plain and simple then!

MIS (as in the ramps themselves): YES! However.... On/off ramps may only be ortho for now. We have not yet seen an diag on/off ramp from Tarkus, but we have seen the ramps themselves being diagonal.

I concur with Haljacky there, I haven't seen anything either

But in the mean time I have been messing round with this

RHWAveOfframps3.jpg

I'll be posting full details of this at the SC4D site

@Palpatine001: Here is an example of what I meant

See? Now traffic doesnt have to stop at a light and yet there is no grade separation for the ramps 3.gif

JCarter: @ Tarkus?  Okay....

Palpatine001: You know you don't need to convert your RHW to an avenue for the ramp and the underpass, just leave it RHW as it will look and function much better!

I'd suggest that you keep your updates posted here rather than @ SC4D.  People visit that thread for discussion and updates concerning the RHW project and its development and thus that is what it should be focused on.  Here at ST, this thread could be used for questions and general discussion, which would leave the other thread clean of more "off topic" RHW topics.

Don't take it seriously, its just my philosophy on that matter.

Best,

-Haljackey

As for the roundabout interchange, shall we say it's in the works?

Shadow_Assassin: I agree, its just a suggestion! Nice to know about a roundabout interchange too!
