Hi everyone-

I got hit a little with RL, and have been working on some more "experimental" things, most of which didn't really come to fruition like I had hoped.  I did, however, manage to fix an issue with the models on the El-RHW, and I hope to have some pics up of it soon.  I should have more time toward the end of this week to really get things going as well.

Also, I wanted to drop by and respond to a few comments:

wonderboy145:  Welcome to ST, and thanks for the compliments.  As simzebu mentioned, it is possible to do such a transition.  Those textures that you see on those ramp/surface street intersections are still quite rough right now though, and will eventually be fixed in the manner you're talking about.

Shingure:  Thanks!  As far as your question about doing a 5-lane, qurlix, the main developer on the project, is working on a 5-lane-per-direction version of the RHW (known around here as the "RHW-10" as it would be 10 lanes if used both directions).  I don't know how far he's gotten with it, though.  It will be 4-tiles wide as you're talking about.

daniel01:  Thanks!  We certainly intend to keep it up.2.gif

mjig_dudy:  No problem.  And yes, that tutorial can be migraine-inducing.  It took awhile for it to make sense to me, too.3.gif  If you have any further transit modding questions that the tutorial doesn't cover, or that you're unclear on, feel free to PM me.  I'm actually leaning very heavily toward the idea of creating a new comprehensive Transit Modding tutorial as well, sometime in the near future.

jimboland:  I'm not certain, but it's possible that will be included in the next release, v17, which qurlix is working on.

i have the RHW and the new nam and it works. The only bugs i have are the 3 icons and some of the puzzle pieces don't work such as underground rail...

but yes, with v17 that problem should be dealt with.

Hi Shingure-

There is no expected release date for v17--that's kind of status quo for most projects here in the Transit Modding end of things.  I can also confirm what hoshattack said.  The current version does work with the new NAM (v20), but running RHW v12 and NAM v20 will make it so the new features in NAM v20 don't work.

Hope that answers your questions.

Shingure, you've got to download the NAM and put the RHW folder (download from my signature) INTO the NAM folder. Once this is done, add some ZZZs infront of the filename to make sure it loads after the NAM and you should be set.

If that didn't fix it then you have a problem with another plugin. Remove all plugins but the NAM and the RHW and it should work fine. Then slowly add your other plugins back in to centre in on the one(s) that are causing the problem and remove them if you want to use the RHW.

Hopefully this helps ya out.

Hey Tarkus or Quirlix. Love the work you are all doing, and totally respect that it might take forever. Just a quick ? tho, any idea of a tenative date? Say May, or this Spring, something like that? And any new teaser images? I can't wait for this pack to be available!

Well on the NAM it doesnt work for me. I ran the lines parallel. I did everything and the roads still looked like roads.

Did you download the RHW? (which is seperate from the NAM) If not, that could be your problem 2.gif

How many kinds of RHW are there? So far I have seen and used the two lane version, and have heard of the RH 10 (lane) version.

wonderboy145:  Well, here's the list of RHWs that have been released or worked on to some degree:

Released

RHW-2 (mjig_dudy's textures)

RHW-4 (the one the mod enables)

In Progress

RHW-6

RHW-8

RHW-10

RHW-18

I may eventually work on other varieties of RHW, filling in the gap between the 10 and the 18, as well as 20+ lane versions (likely stopping at RHW-26, 13 lanes in each direction), depending on how things go.2.gif

Everyone:  Hit with a little RL, and I undertook some further experiments which still didn't entirely pan out (any guesses?3.gif).  Things are looking up for the RHWMIS, though, and I hope to have something to show you later.

When you say the roads still looked like roads, are you meaning real roads, or the ANT? Because with the RHW installed the ant network will change with about 4 tiles long of them RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. (no gaps).

I am not sure, but that may be your problem.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys.  Thanks to memo, there was something I did manage to get working (one of the aforementioned "experimental" things), but I'm not quite ready to show it . . . 2.gif  Perhaps much closer to the release of the RHWMIS and Elevated RHW.  It's rather wild . . .

And LITP, you are partially correct.  One of the "experiments" involved the TLAs.  Specifically, the TLR-3--that one is still not working, but I think I know how to fix it now.  And it's the milder of the two experiments.

As far as qurlix goes, I believe he is in "lurk mode" right now.  He'll probably reveal himself when he has something to show us . . .

Ooh, that sounds interesting; i can't wait. It feels like we're waiting for Christmas to come or something. 5.gif

And do I sense some cryptic messages in there, or is that just me wishing and hoping?

Cryptic messages?  I wouldn't put it past me . . .2.gif

And I would also like to mention that one of these experiments will likely, in some form, affect the implementation of the Elevated and Underground RHWs . . . 41.gif

*Edited to prevent stealing Tarkus' thunder in his next dev report. No, I don't know anything that you don't know, just read the Transit Modding forums religiously like I do and you come to make logical conclusions. In the event I was wrong, well, then I guess I shouldn't have edited this.*

And in case anyone is wondering, I'm not stalking Tarkus, I liken it to part of the Roman Catholic Mass:

"Let us proclaim the mysteries of our faith"

That is to say, my mystery is how on earth talented individuals managed to figure this out in the first place, much less implement it and the "faith" is that a 4-year old PC game continues to be viable AND fun thanks to the impressive work of individuals like Tarkus, Quirlix, Andreas Roth, and all the rest that I can't remember.

So, in short, EA needs to hire these dedicated Transit Modders for SC5 development. And I feel like the least I could do is buy Tarkus a beer/mixed drink/iced tea if we ever end up crossing paths.

Oh, and to clarify, no intention of offending anyone by quoting part of the liturgy, its been in my mind lately.

Keep on keeping on RHW Gods!

I knew it... a draggable RHW is what you might be testing.

The modular interchange pieces look funny to me...

Anyway, I'm waiting for some progress or the release of the new RHW version.

First post in this thread...

Quick question, will the multi lane RHW, such as the RHW-8 be in the next release? That is what I am most looking forward to.
