Well, this little update was much delayed, it was ready to post three days ago! Kia Ora all, and not the squash 6U! So lets check out how the people in New Auckland are getting on. After the comments of course!
@Rochefort: Short and sweet, Thankyou, i love beaches10.gif
@Leech10: Thanks for dropping by, and good luck in both the SCJU comps at the moment
@Pip: Its growing slowly, but its getting there. I was gonna start this CJ much later, once a city had properly grown but i wanted to start it for the SCJU! And I would never listen in on Cordovia, or would I22.gif
@ skyshroud: The New Auckland rugby team The Barely Blacks are, well, bad, so no world cup here anytime soon! The bid for the games is for the SCJU winter games, which doesnt seem to be happening any time soon...
    @6U: Yes, I like colour20.gif
@Chocolatemax: Thanks for dropping by, you have a very nice CJ there too!
@Jeb: Since NA is only a couple of years old, i try my best to only use modern BAT's in there, hope to see your CJ up some time soon *hint hint*
@Jarnomiedema: Well, the real Auckland Airport has parking galore, so I couldnt let my sims go without parking spaces!(Plus i get to use trams)
    Header.jpg
The airport surveyors took these aerial shots of the new airport during the day, as all other official ones were taken at night.

    airportday2.jpg

Around the city, growth has slowed, as the Government slowly improves the city with greenery and parks. The endangered Petty Salmon Eating Bird was found recently in Devonport, and a small reserve was created on the shore.
    DeonportTrees.jpg

Other planted areas have also been made, around the King's castle
    castlewaterfront.jpg
    The north basin
    OldWaterfront.jpg

Also, more plazas and relaxing areas have been improved around the city
    VeroSquare.jpg

This was the old industrial area before improvement, next update Ill show the after pic, It will be like extreme makeover!9.gif

Some nice updates there Exchagga... wow. 3.gif

I love the beaches the the previous update... amazing... all that golden sand.

Good to hear about the flights...

The CBD night picture looks fantastic... I love the Hearst Tower, aka SMI Bank, in that spot too.

The naval port is looking great...

The airport is looking great. Although I must say... the pollution that is affecting the sea around the airport is a little disturbing... I don't think Pipster will be too happy to see that as he is Minister for the Environment... 6.gif

The north basin looks cute. Nice place to holiday. I'm also glad to see lots of plazas being added to the cities. I look forward to the make over you are planning... Should be interesting.

    Good work Exchagga.44.gif

Hiya all, havnt got enough juicy pics to update with, but thankyou for all the comments guys:
6U: As always, thankyou! And I think Im going to electrify the G key so I dont turn on the grid.
Pip: 6U beat you to the post, but you have a longer comment, so you're even3.gif And yes, pollution has struck the beautiful King's Harbour, those airports are bad news! Dont worry, it is being monitored closely, and the airport is being forced to clean its act up
    Leech: Thanks for dropping by!
PalmGurl: Yay, a visit from the Palmgurl! I like palms too, but i dont think i have enough yet8.gif
LuckyDakota: The coastline is taken from maps of the real auckland, so its about as natural as you can get! Thanks for posting48.gif
Fox: Ahhhhhh, beaches, it was a hot day in (real) Auckland today. Night CBD shots are my altime favourite *hint hint* so I may overuse 'em a little. The North Basin is actually a smidgen north of the CBD, so it isnt such a nice place holiday, but it is certainly a nice place to relax on weekends and lunch times.

    Real update tomorrow, ceteris parabus.

Just a little update, as promised (although a day late43.gif)Shall we press on?
    Header.jpg
Kings Harbour has attracted enough residents to start sprawling a little away from the CBD. The government is very anti-sprawl, so new areas are embracing the New Urbanist movement, usually succesfully.
This suburb, Miserlou Heights, has become a trendy suburb, and is home to many of NA's finest scholars, researchers in Devonports bio-tec industries.
    MiserlouHeights.jpg

    MiserlouHeights2.jpg

The Midcity Reserve around the Mulholland Intersection marks the informal boundary of the city, with suburbs starting beyond it.
    MidCityReserve.jpg

    AveRestowers.jpg

In established suburbs, towers are slowly growing higher, while the government restricts the resource consent process to prevent any possible slum developments.
    This is Miami Beach:
    MiamiBeachwhole.jpg

And of course, there is the extreme makeover, with much of the older suburb of Glen Innes making room for earthworks to avoid possible landslides. The city took the oppertunity to spruce up the area as well. This aerial pic shows the as yet undeveloped area, shortly after renovation.

One day Ill have a stable internet connection and a trustworthy PC, but yet again I was unable to post my update on time. Here's the new one though, but forgive me if it seems a little brief (I assure you that the last one was nothing less then a masterpiece2.gif):
Chocolatemax: Thanks for commenting, this update is all industrial, but not as nicely planned.
    Helomoto: Thankyou for visiting!
Jacqulina: Im glad you like my pics48.gif, thankyou!
Pip: Thats too kind of you, and Miserlou Heights is very nice, but prices start at around $1.2million.31.gif
6U: I try to keep Pip happy with some greenery about the cities, I wish I put more in to start with though.
Vegeta The Puppet: Thats alot of posts for 5 days! Glad you stopped by here though48.gif

Near the new airport, the new industrial suburb of Newton is taking advantage of the freight options. It has become great for manufacturing indusries, most of which are exports to Cordovia and other pacific islands.
    roundabout.jpg

    Cityfringe.jpg

The Newton interchange became very busy, freight trucks clogging up the motorway along with airport traffic.
    NewtonInterchange.jpg
The government proposed a canal system to clear the gridlock, and now the Newton canal is the busiest waterway in the Southern Hemisphere. The new route is so efficient that the government has put a large toll on freight trucks using the Newton Interchange, as they have become unnecessary.
    Canal2.jpg

    Canal1.jpg

    basin1.jpg

    Canalend.jpg

Since the area has gained so much attention, Newton has become HQ to NA's pacifit air fleet at a new airbase. Tanks from the small army defense post are regularly exercised on a roundabout nearby.
    tankroundabout.jpg

Since some of the new industry's in the ara are more polluting then the hi-tech ones NA has so much of, a national park has been proposed for the small inlet to the south of Newton.

    Looking great Exchagga...

The industrial areas are coming along fabulously.

I like the greening you are doing throughout your Cities too... excellent work.

Those canals are awesome looking too. Really great how you have used them. I also like the use of the round-a-bouts. Great work.  I love the newspaper update... maybe you should think about making it slightly larger 800x600 so you can get even more detail on there?

I'm glad you are using the mod on the highways. It looks great. I've even decided to use them now.

    Keep up the great work.36.gif

*Edit... never mind about the newspaper... I got bored and have got a present for you next time I see you online.3.gif

Just a quicky Newspaper update today, i truely have a stack of pics to post, but dont have the time to edit them!
@Fox: The greening is going along nicely, but I do have some development going on, as you'll see next update.
The present was very nice! 39.gif, youll see it below2.gif
@Skyshroud: Yes, I am truley sorry about the awful pun, but I was short on time to think of a better name43.gif
@Pip: Those tanks go round and round and round 24/7, the roundabout must confuse them! And no, no airbase secrets, a base right beside a commercial airport can never be very secret. Next time im in that city Ill take a pic to stop your accusals9.gif

Its trixie time and I hae got swept up in the moment!39.gif
Ive nominated a couple of people, so check out their CJ's!:
Most Entertaining CJ: Pipishere for Cordovia
Best use of custom content in a CJ: 6U for New Rhodesia
Most Aesthetically Pleasing: Chocolatemax for Green Depra
Best Story: Jarmenoedia (sorry, cant spell) for Chaumont
And for best overall, well, its very very tough to decide, and theres been a couple other nominations I cant remember! Good luck to all though!29.gif

The made-over industrial suburb has mostly developed, a final aerial shot was taken last night.
    xtrememakeoverfinal.jpg
On the other side of the harbour, the investment in Omaha has trickled down to the CBD, with plenty of new towers built or planned.
    This is Versaille Tower:
    VersailleTower.jpg

The city has also improved the transport network, seperating Spaggheti Junction, and renaming it De' Vanquish Intersection.
    DeVanquishIntersection.jpg
The upgraded King's Cross rail hub:
    KingsCross.jpg
And now Northeners are greeted by the Auckland Arch after driving over the Cumberdale Bridge:
    AucklandArch.jpg

The CBD's waterfront has also been renewed, after getting a bad reputation for being a crime ridden area.
    Waterfrontnew.jpg
On the waterfront, the city has re-built the Auckland Skytower, in memorial of Old Auckland
    skytower.jpg

Meanwhile, in Omaha, another Auckland landmark has been rebuilt, the Metropolis tower
    beach2.jpg

Overseas investment has caused a construction boom in the resort city, with mabour having to be bussed in from King's Harbour.

And on the main drag, Runaway Beach, the new Florida Casino has opened:

And, for all CJ'ers reading this, Devonport has space for new embassies, to get this prime position, reply here. St Marque Inlet's embassy is seen in the background, and the National Library on the right is to be relocated, opening a new position.
    newembassy.jpg
Also, New Auckland is looking for places to secure it's embassy, reply here for info29.gif

Looks good, I like the beach pictures.

About the embassies, do you mean having a New Auckland embassy in another country, or another countries embassy in New Auckland?

Oh Oh..Cordovia would love an Embassy in New Auckland. As you know NA has an embassy in Cordovia...and i'm sure it would make our relations much more stronger if we were to have one in NA.

Lovely update, nice night shots...coming along nicely! 48.gif

    Nice update there Exchagga...

The redevelopment of the industrial area really paid off... looks awesome. A lot more greener through the highway section too. Looks very realistic now.

The night shot of Omaha is looking good, some nice buildings there too. The area surrounding the stadium is starting too look good. It will make a nice second CBD that area.

De' Vanquish Intersection is looking beautiful.. maybe you should post it in the transport accomlishments thread, it is worthy... it's very well designed. The parks and trees surrounding it add to the pleasure of the area.

The large building near the King's Cross rail hub... what is it, it doesn't look familiar from that angle? Looks beautiful in that half light though...

Nice work on the use of the arch over the highway...really nice touch to the area, a real tourist draw card...

I love the look of the waterfront area, so many awesome buildings used in the area as well as variety. Using the Auckland Skytower as a memorial to Old Auckland is a great idea. Looks fabulous in that postition too. The luxury boat terminal really needs a face lift... I might have something up my sleeve you might be interested in...

Metropolis tower is stunning, is that batted by the same guy who did the Auckland Skytower? I just gotta go find it now, I want that in my Cities... hehe.

Beautiful pictures of all those beach areas too. I love the night shots esspecially.

I look forward to anthoer update soon... keep up the great work.
