I like what you have done with the Roof it looks more Real Now. Is that Red box on Side wall the Night Depository?

Also what you think about putting signs on the Drive Thru lanes with red and green lights or Open and Closed signs?

We really need a Golden Corral, and a Best Buy. Make sure you make the Best Buy different than Simgoober's with the new modern design, make it new looking. Nice Papa John's though I can't download it, because I'm in Charlotte. Also, I've finally seen BB&T's ust like yours in Charlotte, so I think you should maybe think about adding a lot of greenery in it's lot and maybe add some custom flower flora. It would look nice. If you could, you should edit the Papa John's sign that stands up on your recent lot. It doesn't look really detailed, and I thought it would just be a little better with that change.

Please try to quote pictures and entire posts only if you are explicitly referring to something in them. It keeps loading times (and posts) shorter and makes the thread easier to read than long posts with quotes inside quotes (and all with pictures and stuff), and then a short line of text below. In this case, for example, I think your post works perfectly on its own. Just a friendly reminder. :) ~T Wrecks, Moderator

No, but it is some thing that can be fixed in no time with gimp.

I'm going to change the window texture as well, They look to void.

Some encouragement for ya, Frex!! You've released some quality lots lately, and this one looks to be same. :D

My only comment is on the base texture. It looks a little too white and unrealistic. I don't know if it's WIP (work in progress), and I don't know if you intend to have that be some sort of drive-through. If so, I would recommend a concrete or asphalt texture.

Other than that, it looks like the BB&T in my town; very nice job so far!

Whats the scale of this building, because I found the previous one you released on the STEX, Papa John's, to be quite large in some cases. It looked incredibly tall, and the doors were very large. On the main door, each door panel could fit a car through. Cars are around 1.8m wide (but this varies greatly and is usually higher, it just depends on the car model), doors should be around 0.9m wide, for a single door. In SC4 cars are generally wider than this, but assuming the cars are 1.8m the front door frame on your building was going to be around 4m wide.

So what Im wondering is, what are the sizes of this building? just give us the main ones like floor/room height, how wide and long the main room is and how wide and long the rectangular room (which is that drive through area through to the entrance)

With the drive throughs, is it four lanes? Because even with four lanes its looking a little bit wide. But that may just be how it looks, and not the dimensions. If you notice in the image that you are basing this building off of, there are small islands separating each lane. Including those would help to make the drive throughs look correctly scaled. And the supports look much larger than they are on the image too.

The red door looks squashed, not high enough, and the extruding walls to the left of it (in the top right render) don't line up with the roof correctly, they are too wide for the roof.

It will be very good to see how you progress with this, I think your doing really well for a new beginner, but its the finer details and in your last file, the scale that is letting you down.

I hope to see you improve with these suggestions, because you seem to be taking your time with this model, and thats really good to see :D

  • Thank You for the Kind comments, now for the measurements

The door is around 3 to 3.5 meters wide, and 4 to 5 meters high.

The front skinny windows are around 2 to 3 meters wide, and around 4 to 5 meters high.

The building its self from end to end long ways is around 54 meters, and short ways its 32 meters (I think I'll double check later)

I'm unsure of the hieghth, I'll also check on that later, and edit this post to give the correct measurements.

I'll export a draft model to see how it looks in game and in LE, I think that will help too.

    Thats massive!

The door is 3 times larger than it should be, the average person is about 0.55 m wide. You could fit almost 6 people through that door at once. (is this that red door we are talking about?)

That building is really really big, for a comparison, this supermarket that I made, its around 60 m long. I would have thought that maybe 30m would be the most, and thats probably larger than I would make it. The drive through should be around 12 - 15 m, I would have made it closer to 12m.

Export a draft, Lot it, your looking at a 5x2 lot at the least, and place some props like sims and cars, especially around the door ways and drive throughs, youll see that the cars will be quite small in comparison to the building. The sims and cars will help you get a measure of the scale, and so will placing the building by other maxis buildings. Show us some pictures of the lotted draft render in a downtown environment.

Thats stil really big though. You could easily fit 4 cars into one bay of that drive through. What you want is to be able to fit just under three cars through. Scale it down further, make it fit well inside a two by one lot. I'd be tempted to make the total length about 25mHeres what it looks like in game:frex.png

Its still quite large isn't it??

Just scale it down a bit, look into some real life figures and use those to go by. For instance, google average room height, and use that as your room height, it will make it fit in better ingame.

By the way, this is what it would have looked like before scaling...

Hum, it looks ok to me when it comes to the scaling. Have you added nights lights yet, just wondering. And an other thing are you going to add the vacuum sucky thing where you place you check and it goes to the clerk to give your money? O, yea it would cool if you could do other banks to bring in the real life felling in the game. :D
