Did I hear "corner version"? That's great news because it is always hard to find something to "cap" rows of W2W buildings. This is a problem particularly in smaller cities where the commercial stage is too low to allow for good mid-rise corner shops.

I'm starting to run into this as well. Some neat mid rise w2w corner buildings would be highly desirable I think. These look great Frex - looking forward to the finished product.

Roof tanks are likely to sit above where bathroom-kitchens are.

Right now you have the side wall, a small gap and then the chimney.I think the chimney should be integrated with the side wall.I often saw it in rowhouses recently - the side wall rise as much as it's needed, then it goes a little higher where the chimneys are.

What's the reason behind pipes? Why they are on your model? What they are expected to be? Why they are in that specific location, and not another location?

Thanks guys! I took in the knowledge you guys left for me, and then went to Google Earth, and looked on the roofs of row houses of this style. I also looked around the STEX a bit, to see how it was done, and what I found was the roof work was very simple, nothing much.

So I went and redone it, I am thinking more needs to be added, but not quite sure what.

    Thanks.

The part of the chimney that's below the top of the side wall should be done in the same material as the side wall. Also, the chimney needs a cornice of a different material on it's top (metal or concrete).

    Corner:

As far as the corner buildings, you would need to consider that you won't have 16 mtrs anymore, but just 14,4, cause you need to subtract the sidewalk lenght on the corner side.

That means that you can't put two 8 mtrs wide rowhouses there - you might either create two 7,2 mtrs rowhouses out of the ones you have, and then do further work on the side of the one that will sit on the corner, or you can put an 8 mtrs wide rowhouse like the ones you did, and design a 6,4 mtrs rowhouse to fill the corner.

The corner rowhouse would probably have it's entrance on the side that's away from the corner, cause next to the entrance there would be the stairwell, and the side facing the corner would probably be used to give additional windows to the rooms inside.

Also, your rowhouses have an L shape, this is reasonable cause they're W2W and this is a way to allow better lighting.

However this L shape wouldn't be necessary on the corner rowhouse because one of the two long sides would have access to air and light, you might do a full rectangle there.

    Hope it helps.

Ideally you'd do the rest with the texture - see Jason's latest upload (Sturgeon Building). There's not much junk up there, either, but the texture does the job.

Oh, and good advice from Francis here. :)

    @Everyone who posted:

Thanks very much, I am sorry for the lack of updates recently, school has started, and I am trying to get my time worked around so I can continue with my BATting.

I have slowly applied the things Francis suggested, and plan on doing the other variations this weekend, given that my dad does not make me work. :P

Thanks for your support through active times and not, I appreciate it!

I recently started school as well, college, and I'm trying to juggle time for BATing and for school work. It's certainly a hassle but remember that school is more important. ;)

Hope to see updates soon enough though!

Looking through your BATs, it seems they have gotten better and better since your earlier ones just a few years ago.

I hope to follow in your footsteps. :D

That roof texture is looking really good now! You may want to check the overall colour hue against an SC4 backdrop. I have the impression that the colours you used are a bit on the "cold" or blueish side. However, this is hard to judge due to differences between monitors and monitor settings. Hence a comparison only really works if you see both images (SC4 reference and the BAT) side to side on one and the same PC.

Apart from that I'd say that probably your best work so far is nearing completion - you can really be proud of yourself. :)

I think they look great, I feel that the ac units in the windows a to large. You can look at mine on my buildings, Like the Franklin Apartments and 41 Park Avenue.

Oh, yeah do not forget if you do make a verity of colors like most batter do when thay make any type of housing that is smaller that five stories, you need to make sure that the night lites are differnt from the last building same with some of the ac units in the windows. :D

I think they look pretty good. Just try to see real life pictures of buildings like this and recreate anything you see. As i said it looks good but it feels too empty.

In real life roof junk is put on the roof to perform some scope, and not to be eye-pleasing for someone watching it from above....so, wheter there is roof junk, and which, and how much, is strictly linked with pratical consideration, i.e. is it necessary?

Wheter the result looks interesting or dull or empty is simply a subjective value statement.
