Welcome back my friends, to the show that never ends . . .

Thanks to Dirk and the Admins for all the hard work in getting ST back up and running! I can appreciate the effort that went into this undertaking and wish you guys the best with the last "fine tuning".

I'm really thrilled to see the Page Flip Bug completely squashed . . . it's especially handy with the various NAM threads of yore.

Coming back to at least check out Sim City 4 after a long break, it's nice to see the community still going strong and in Simtrpolis' case rejuvenating itself. I wish you grat success & few bugs with this new version.

Nice to see things back up, thanks for all the work. Guess I'll be the first to say I really don't like the colors\styling, seem much harder to read, less contrast; not loving the stex layout either but whatever though not my call so I'll deal and adapt to it. ;)

Mobilis in Mobile. (The motto of Captain Nemo).

I note that the regular Firefox spell checker is active. This is a good thing. I don't think ST needs a separate spell checker if the user's is active. Good move.

I like this revised editor. The old one was getting pretty cluttered.

Yes, it is very bumpy where I am. I am getting time-outs and resets. Could it be that a mob has leaped onto the site?

I gather my old bookmarks are junk, so I will be building a new set.

I am not sure that the extension into the social networks is a good thing, but if it turns out OK, then so be it. I do have a facebook account for keeping in touch with my scattered family, but am not a heavy users. I am too old to tweet (it is more like a faint chirp).

Anyway, I have to go do my laundry now, but will stay logged on, since I only am absent for a few minutes. Just keep making the rough places plain.

Some parts of the site load faster than others but it is understandable, these are the first few days of the new ST version, so, as the admins said, things will smooth out in time.

I really like v7 and I'm glad you kept the color scheme from ST6. Plus, the site looks more modern (in my opinion) , the forums look great and the "facelift" looks good overall.

Great job!

Oooh, nice and shiny!

From what I see from ST7, I think the site actually looks better, and it now only takes about 5-10 sec for a page to load where as on 6 it would take me sometimes as much as ten minutes. Can't wait to see what else you guys have in store.

We're so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside....

Since I felt so compelled to post that, I might as well post some more positive feedback. :P

I really like the site so far, and it's amazing to me how fast the pages load now. I mean, it's perfect, there's really nothing else I can say.

Well, one thing....or question, I suppose.....but I'll post that in the STEX thread.

So I've seen none of our previous user data (i.e. CJ badge, user Id, points, etc) has been carried over. Is it going to stay that way? And I'm not sure the STEX is working, my file extractor wizard said it couldn't unzip the file because of an unknown compression method, and the file isn't appearing in my game. Have you guys seen this before? They are Maxuben's Avenue Dividers. Nevertheless, I like the new format, though it will take some getting used to.

Looks like Exla357 beat me to it. Wondering if points and posts will be carried over...

I'm not sure about this, but I think that the points system has been replaced by the Reputation system... As for the "cool stuff under our avatars", AFAIK, the staff is working on it.

IF that is true then the points are better than reputation, points were earned no matter what, but rep is only given when a member can be bothered/kind enough to click a button.

Although the user who makes the post can apparently up their own reputation, as I see the little plus thing next to my posts. 34.gif

It is taking a while to get used to the new layout, but there are lots of new and useful features to explore. It is especially good to now have a stable forum system and the greatly improved load times. Once again, a big thanks to Dirk and all the staff that made this possible!

*grabs a stray hard hat*

All this is confusing...but I'll live. After all, it is under construction

Just one question, is chat going to be accessable for IE users? Cuz I still can't get on chat via IE. If you're working on it, than feel free to berate me for not reading :P

Glad to see it working better, still spotting errors here and there, I think the New site looks fine. I was a little upset with the STEX at first, till I clicked on a picture, and waited till it loaded, much better with the images taking up big space (better than finding glasses), also the save image is a nice thing to have.
