It might be useful to have a count of how many operating systems are in use.  See this thread for why we might need this.

I too run Windows 7. The last OS I had on a computer I could call mine was Windows 98, so it is definitely a step up.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I run mine on Windows 7- 32 bit  and I haven't had problems with relations to Windows 7.

Interesting concept on the link there, intriguing ideas there....

It's Windows Vista, for me, too. I feel so pathetic and sad with my three-years-old computer chugging along like a sad little single-prop aircraft while everyone else on here has Learjets...

Don't feel bad.  I used an Athlon 2400+ until about a month ago.  I'd still be using it, but the GPU was failing, and the new distribution for it was broken.  So, if I wanted the new features of the operating system, I had to upgrade.  Took me six months to save enough cash, but now I have a middle of the road twin piston-engine bomber.  Of course I run Linux, since playing with operating software is one of my hottest passtimes.  I have a lot of Microsoft licenses, but I don't have any of their software loaded at all except libraries needed to support wine.

I have three desktop computers, each running on a different OS. My primary computer is Windows 7 64 bit. The other ones (that I'm trying to find a use for) are Windows XP and 98 respectively.

I could, but let it run.  I didn't know that, and let's see if others don't either.

Oh well, I made my first  steps on Windows 98 15.gif which made buy a new PC with more RAM and Windows 2000  which I used for a loooong time 19.gif until I installed XP the day before they started selling Vista (which I completely and deliberately ignored), then used Windows 7 beta and RC until the end of their lifetime (boy, do I still miss the RC!) and now I am using XP again ... 21.gif

Five days of polling, so far, and only 65 people, including me, have voted.

As expected, more than half are on Windows 7, with a goodly number of the remainder on the last two "user" releases of Windows.

Around 11% use other operating systems, and considering that this is really a Windows 95/98 program, I think there is clearly some ingenuity out there.

As far as the server versions of Windows are concerned, doesn't W7 Ultimate support being a server?  If not, then you are probably stuck with a public domain one like apache, or a proprietary one from Novell or Cisco.

One interesting thing stands out so far.  No one has admitted using a version of windows earlier than XP.  The game was written for windows '95/'98.  I am surprised there are no hold-outs.

Win XP SP3 here, but the hardware is Apple.

I only use XP for the game via Boot Camp.

As do I. My desktop runs Xp, my laptop runs Vista, and my dad's (even though I'm not allowed on it) runs W7. Most modding programs work better with XP, so I do all my modding my my desktop, but it has a slow cpu( 1.6ghz) so I switched to my laptop (2.0ghz) and play on it.
