Yep, 9 lanes in each direction (18 total, not including any entrance/exit ramps), yet it still comes to a grinding halt if one lane is closed each direction...

Edit: Here's a picture:

Hmmm, interesting. You'd think that the busiest and widest freeway in the world would be in a more dense and populated country, like China. You learn something new everyday!

The more I learn about Canada, the more I feel like I might want to live there. It's got beautiful land, large cities, and the world's busiest and widest freeway.

That highway is an absolute nightmare if you're not from Toronto. Drove through it once without GPS, let's say it wasn't a good idea. It's definitely got good use. It manages to get jammed still but without all those lanes, you would get to work the next day. :|

You should come to Ottawa, I'll give you a tour! :}

Oh yeah, it is a beast of a highway. The backlogs like you mention really are awful... and it happens at all hours, even the early morning (~2AM.)

@MamaLuigi- Canada is pretty awesome, and that is my completely unbiased opinion. ( :P)

EDIT: 8108 DERP

I've been to Canada before, but unfortunately, I don't remember any of it because I was very young.

@Link: Yes, completely unbiased. That's like me saying Phoenix is a "dry wasteland." (Even though it is, and that isn't a biased statement at all) :P

Never been outside the states, although i'm hoping I will get the chance to do it later on down the road.

I have been to 5 states other than the one i live in. Out of all of them, Oregon is either #1 or #2 on my top list.

Woot! Oregon! I have more pride in a state that I've been to, but can't remember than in my home state. Is that sad?

I've been to England, Ireland, and Canada outside the states, and I've been to California, Utah, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington in the U.S. I can only remember going to Utah, (recently; I just got back) and California, though. I went to the other places at very young ages.

I'll be going to New Zealand in a couple of weeks.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I live in California and I've been to just about every region within the state as well as visited it's largest cities. I used to live in the Bay area and I liked it because of it's fair weather patterns (decent rainfall and not so hot temperatures). I live in the central valley now but I don't really like the heat over here (it usually hits 90+ degrees during the summer). I've been to Arizona and Nevada but the heat and dryness of the states turn me away from them. I've only been to Utah for a few hrs so I can't really draw a conclusion about it. That leaves Oregon; I really like it here because of the weather, it has beautiful landscape and if I had it my way, I would live there. If that can't happen, I think northern California would be a second.

Exactly how I feel. After living in AZ for 14 years, I'm sick of the heat and the dryness. Apparently, March is the month in which we get the most rain, but I can't remember any rain in March. There's not a lot of green here, and I love green. Trees, plants, grass; I love it all, which is why I love Oregon and I wish I could live there. I also love Portland's downtown.

I have only been to North America. I find the Puget Sound area a wonderful place to live. However, the prettiest state I have been to is Hawaii. I also like Yellowstone National Park.

How so? I had no problem navigating it.

Actually now that I think about it, I was probably really tired from 6 hours of driving straight.

I've never been to Oregon. I will have to eventually in order to visit all 50 states, but when i so it will have to only be briefly. I refuse to buy gas in a state that won't let you pump it yourself.

And now a TV show, apparently. I have heard a little about it, but haven't looked that deep into it. Haven't been interested.

Yeah, every where there are ads for it, that is why I was asking if it is popular.

Jay Leno interviewed the actors who play the main characters of the show. From what I've heard, it's an old show that is returning.

One way to have fun with this- Just say:

Gimmie fuel,

gimme fire,

give me that which I desire!

While doing this, sing it like James Hetfield would do it

Used to be big into metal bands during middle school. Now, not so much. I guess music tastes change over time. I've had it where I listen to music that I liked five years ago thinking, "I used to like this?"

There are many videos like that all over Youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJyo1gV3Z5I

The truth behind any of these videos is that they talk to around 100 people and only put in the 10-15 they thought were the dumbest.. :/

Have to admit, I couldn't name every country in the so-called "coalition of the willing" offhand, ether. I know the US and the UK were the major players (George Bush and Tony Blair were buddy-buddy like that), but there were several other lesser contributors as well. Of course, the media here has always made it seem like it was just us. :whatevs:

And then France, Germany, and Russia were the key opponents. Remember "freedom fries"? :P Definite item for "I Love The 00's" if they ever make it.

Stereotypes and people who actually believe those same stereotypes to be true never cease to amaze me.. throwing labels around and trying to find evidence to support it is ignorant within itself and in some cases blatant prejudice. The obvious being said, why do people continue to do it; just to see how idiotic we can make ourselves ?

Some people are walking stereotypes but they are uncommon.
