I'm not really allergic to anything, like plants or any foods, but during allergy seasons, I have terrible allergies.

COMIC CON IS AWESOME

Sakura con was awesome. I just registered for next spring. I cannot afford to go to the major conventions so I just go to the biggest ones in my city.

Well, yes, going to what's local is easiest. For me, that means New York Comic Con.

I suppose I could also do Connecticon without needing a hotel. But it remains to be seen whether I'll feel like going to another one of these things. A large part of what is making this awesome is my costume, and topping it won't be easy.

The costumes were always interesting, but I like the $.25 and $.10 boxes better. I built a HUGE collection of Uncanny X-Men and Avengers comics that way about 12 years ago.

Would you like to make a guess?

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I am now confused. We're unpinned and our numbers seem off on this page. Did I follow someone into a black hole? Did math suddenly stop working?

Nothing on tv tonight. I'm dealing with my post-MLB season depression by reminding myself that my favorite team finished off the Yankees and had a 12 game winning streak that was full of awesome in September. Good times, good times.

I love peanut butter. Apparently in Japan there are no people who are allergic to peanuts. Many of my students have told me how ridiculous they thought that was. I was a little surprised, but whatever, maybe there really are no Japanese people who are allergic to peanuts.

There's a reason for this, actually. The protein in peanuts which causes an allergic reaction only causes a reaction (for 99.9% of people who are allergic, anyway), when it is arranged in a certain configuration. When peanuts are roasted (as they typically are in Europe and North America), the protein ends up in this configuration. However, in eastern countries, peanuts are typically boiled rather than roasted... and when they are boiled they do not get hot enough to transform the protein, and thus they don't cause an allergic reaction.

So, it isn't that nobody in Japan is allergic to peanuts, it's that the peanuts in Japan are hypoallergenic.

Wow, thanks to both of you guys, that really clears up a lot for me. So far as allergies goes for myself, I have awful hay fever every spring, and a hint in the fall. Figures they get me at the two most comfortable times of the year...

I hope you're joking, because that is so wrong. :P Comic Con is a convention held in cities across the country where comic book, superhero, and basically any other type of fan-fiction fan dress up in costumes and see other people and their Comic Con-related stuff. Now that's my definition, but if want to be all technical (and maybe possibly accurate) look at what the official website says: Link

Seeing as five-eights of the name was "Comic", and that "Con" is a common abbreviation of "convention", I would have thought it being a convention about comics would have been painfully obvious.

That explains it, seeing i have no interest in fiction unless it is non fiction type fiction that is like reality based fiction.

What was your costume based off of? My first cosplay was the easiest I could do, Canada (from Hetalia) in casual wear. I think I will make a minecraft armor costume next year. I should practice with making a diamond helmet.

My ideal cosplay would be very similar to this: http://northernbansh...d-Mage-62325796

where comic book, superhero, and basically any other type of fan-fiction fan dress up in costumes and see other people and their Comic Con-related stuff.

That explains it, seeing i have no interest in fiction unless it is non fiction type fiction that is like reality based fiction.

I think the second half of that sentence broke part of my brain.

You have no interest in pure fiction? I thought you liked Fox! :P

Oh well, close enough. I don't know a thing about Comic Con, so my definition was probably not the best. My cousin would know, though. He loves Comics and Super Heroes.

@Astro: FAUX News. :P

24 is reality based fiction, terrorism is a real issue, its not the sci fi channel or harry potter, its a fictional story with a point unlike impossible fiction, its not like that never can be real fiction that people find entertaining for some odd purpose, its very possible to kill terrorists, (they arn't bulletproof, that would be fake fiction) Its not possible however to jump in the air and start flying on a broomstick.

This explains why he likes Fox News, it is "realistic fiction" stuff based on reality that can actually happen, just "spiced up" a little bit.
