Do they even still make TVs that pick up any kind of signal at all? It seems nowadays that that's a relic, everyone is expected to have cable or satellite TV. Even in poor neighborhoods you see those little satellite dishes.

If you mean built in antennae, probably not, although that does not necessarily mean they are built assuming cable or satellite TV use only. The antenna for free-to-air TV at my old house was on the roof.

If you mean cannot be connected to an external antenna, then they still do. My parents bought one reasonably recently, and an antenna is required to receive free-to-air digital broadcasts.

I am on vacation!

Our old house might still have an antenna but we hadn't used it for years before we rented out our house. We have used Comcast since the mid 1990's.

This does, however, require that the building you live in have an antenna to hook up to. Which might be tricky to find in this day and age.

My parents still have a CRT. Watching certain programs can be annoying. It isn't a widescreen tv but things are broadcast in widescreen so you miss out on some of the picture.

I just use the guide to see what shows were good and the only thing that the TV was used is when my mom watches for soap operas (Filipino ones) and my dad watches TV for boxing...

NHK's E-Tele has some really good kids' programming. Here in Japan, I usually only watch variety shows of the comedic persuasion. Back home it's sports (unless Joe Buck is announcing *UGH*) or... Uhm... Not much else, really. Actually, I rather like Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations.
