-"I hope Netflix goes bankrupt very soon"

-"i canceled. and so did most of my friends"

-"Will be canceling my service and have it end on Aug 31st"

-"Like many others I will ultimately cancel my entire Netflix subscription. Definately the DVD-only is not going to be cost effective for me because I watch a maximum of four DVDs per month. I generally watch more movies/tv shows through the streaming option but not everything is offered through streaming. This new policy would work much better if every movie was available both through DVDs and through streaming."

1. I am almost certain that Hollywood Video went bankrupt because there are no longer any franchises in King or Pierce County.

2. Seattle and Tacoma have some good underground musical artists that I recently discovered.

3. NetFlix works better for those that watch a lot of DVD's like my mother's household. OnDemand is very expensive sometimes but super convenient for the programs offered. RedBox is an OK replacement for a video rental store. None of these accept cash so teenagers without cards who want to watch a movie must drive to one of the few video rental stores available or use the internet. I have a debit card so I don't need to resort to anything illegal.

The issue with Netflix is that they decided to separate DVD plans from streaming plans, thus effecting a price hike for many of their customers. Anyone who was using one of the newer plans that only allowed for one or two DVDs at a time will now have to pay more to keep that and streaming.

Customers on the original 3 DVD plan (now excessive for most people due to streaming) will be able to downgrade to fewer DVDs at at time and not see a notable increase.

Many people have been bothered by this. Netflix will take a hit for it, but I don't see it being their downfall... for the simple reason that there is no identical competitor service for people to easily switch to.

Well, both my mother and her fiance had Netflix subscriptions then when they moved in together, they consolidated to 1 plan with 3 DVDs per month. Or rather, my mother stopped her subscription and Rob switched to the 3 DVDs per month plan. I have seen neither of them stream any videos. Then again, Bob can afford it since he makes over 200k/yr.
