I thought as much. :P

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Okay, I'll click on two "Spoiler" buttons before I think to myself, "Not important" and move on;).

Also, glad I'm not going to be banned for general apathy! Although, I do feel a shunning coming on...

My apologies for breaking the two-post rule before, I did not notice until now. My excuse shall be that I was distracted by partial differential equations.

So long as I'm not being shunned, I'll accept your excuse. Math always made me constipated. I mean, consternated.

And Hamish, clicking edit doesn't seem to work for me. By the way, are you guys picking up any more site staff members ;) ?

Asking is a sure-fire way to not get picked.

The site administrators pick only trusted, active, and helpful members to fill vacant positions. Staff positions are never obtained by asking or campaigning for them.

Thats because you can't edit other peoples post :P

Have no idea, they just sort of seem to appear. The admins cover that aspect of the site since they are like our "bosses".

Accidentally deleted the 'Advertisements' thread D:

I can't publish the newspaper without it :(

PM Meg, she should be able to track it down for you :)

To be fair, though, not every site operates on such a policy. I have, on other fora, seen announcements made saying "okay, we have a moderator position open. If you're interested, please contact so-and-so and explain to us why we should pick you." And then they (presumably) choose the applicant they like best. This then saves the administration the trouble of potentially asking someone who's not interested.

I do think the way ST does it (which is the way most sites do it) is better, though... it's a pretty universal principal that those who most desire power are the least suited to wield it. The best moderators are people who would never apply for the job if it were announced, but will willingly do it if they are personally called upon to.

Yeah, I really think that this site has a good staff. I don't mean to become one :D . It would be nice to see the Custom Member Labels come back, though.

EDIT: That number may be out of sequence, Larks ;) ...
