Scarcity usually does a good job of determining what something's worth, regardless of how much we try to control prices. With the internet, there's very little scarcity involved when you're talking about files of any type, beyond the prices involved in the actual machines and the bandwidth. Copying and sending files or streaming them over the internet almost completely removes scarcity from the equation, which means that basically anything that you make digitally can exist in infinite numbers (or at least as many numbers as there are people with computers) without using up resources besides storage space. The key for everyone is going to be how you can survive as a creator of electronic files and still make a living off of it. DRM is probably not the way to go, but perhaps there is something to be said for paying for whatever bandwidth you're using. Then of course, one must determine who gets how much of that money, and of course your aforementioned licensing rights...

You get to a point where record breaking attempts are bound to fail just because the record gets harder and harder to break. Summer is probably not a good time to do it since people are out and about and busy.

I would also advise against putting it (or anything) in giant obnoxious letters in your signature. It gets people's attention, yes, but in a bad way. People aren't keen to listen to what's perceived as shouting.
