I stumbled upon Simtropolis back when EA had a website for Simcity 4 . I was browsing the site and noticed that there were fansites listed with links . And woe and behold , I found my favorite place to check out SC4 stuff . The discussions were great , the custom content was wonderful and the community is awesome . I had to join , as SC4 is my all time favorite game . I am so glad this site is still around , I spend much time here and you all have kept SC4 the ever growing game that it is today .

What makes Simcity 4 so interesting to you ?

The open-endedness of it.  The fact a I can create a city in my mind and then create it in the game.  Plus I just like creating cities.

Do you still play SC4?

Yup.  My son plays it, too.  Unless C:S ends up on GOG I probably will never update to a newer game.

Although, if you play C:S, is it worth it over SC4 and all the mods?  If you don't play C:S, are you tempted?  Please elaborate on your response.

Actually I'm unemployed. But the last institute I was working for, there were mainly well motivated students and I enjoyed. For me as a teacher - if I like a school depends on the students. Completely. If the students are clever even an ugly school can become an interesting place.

In your opinion - did nature good or bad by inventing metabolism?

What body image? It's fine I guess, not too fit and neither is it too healthy.

A fact of our life doesn't count because it's true but because it had a meaning (J.W. Goethe - my own translation)

Would it be unethical to purchase a robot that does sexual favors?

It wouldn't be less ethical than buying a robot that assemblies cars or vacuums floors. The main ethical issue with robots is, as their name says, that are subject to forced labour. Supposing a robot with an AI sophisticated enough to be capable of grasping this meaning, any form of explotation would be equally troubling. The particular problem with sex is also the problem of consent (which is the reason why paedophilia won't ever be ethically acceptable, because children are defined by their incapability to consent consciously).

Said that, one can trace a continuum of ethical issues with consent as related to the consciousness of the consenting part: simple machines and tools are certainly incapable of consciousness, so their consent is irrelevant, and adult humans are certainly capable of consciousness, so their consent is possible and crucial (they cannot be ethically forced to perform labours against their will), but the middle range is very confuse and depends not only on the consenting part ability to be conscious, but also on our skill to detect those abilities.

On the same vein: do you consider ethical to consume sexual services from a willing offerer?

No, I do not consider it ethical.

How would handle an animal problem that is damaging your house - remove or kill?

Since I have had that very problem recently . I would say Remove , I tried to trap the bugger (raccoon) in my attic . It was too big to fit in the trap , so I had to go up and evict it with a big stick and a whole lot of yelling . Knock on wood , it has yet to have returned .

I have to ask the same question as above .

There is a saying that if a bird does not sing then kill it. Animals that makes my house worst are better off gone if they cannot be removed. Otherwise, I could just simply deal living in a house that seems to mimic a small zoo.

"Και στα δικά σας", which can be translated as "you do" or something like that.

Don't you hate it when somebody is blaming you, every single time, without even be your fault?

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

Of course, I am not altruistic enough to get all the blame there is in this world.

It'd be a Tesla model 3, because what Elon Musk is doing with the car industry is simply awesome.

Not that I'd really want a car, though. I much rather go by train.

If you'd have the possibility to change one thing in world history, what would you change?

I'd stop Pandora from opening the box.

Seriously though, I'd change capitalism and turn into something more equitable.

I like clicking on the STEX and being surprised - so as long as BAT makers doing some surprises every time everything is fine. I don't need to have fullfilled my wishes to get me hooked. But I have an insatiable need for modern residentials.

Is there some funny or disturbing ritual in your family for christmas holidays? Or do you know some christmas ritual you would call strange or funny?

Not really funny or distrubing, but since my birthday is Dec 25th, my family celebrates Christmas on Dec 24th and my birthday on Dec 25th.

Do you celebrate Christmas in your household?  If you do, what would you do on a 'typical' Christmas day.

We all just gather at a family member's house , have a real nice dinner , exchange gifts , maybe watch a movie together (holiday related of course) and have a good time .

Where you live , when it snows and they plow the roads , do they apply coal cinders for traction control ?

Getting drunk an watch TV. Why? Because TV mostly is only fun when you're drunk.

Would you enjoy sitting on the sofa with me, drinking beer and watching some completely stupid action movies and laughing about they nonsense they offer? Would you call this fun? Yes? No? Why?

Well, since I found funny doing the same with a friend but with infomercials, I would say yes :D

Do food products wherever you live have "easy-openers" (or things like that) that do everything but making the opening easier?

I've seen easy openers on supermarkets, but as we normally buy everything on the feria (flea market + farmer's market, itinerant on designated streets, twice a week), most of the few things that came on a package haven't any sophisticated opening, so one ends using a knife for everything.

Speaking of that, would you feel confident (mainly about health issues) buying most of your food to peddlers on the street?

Sorry, but it depends - beeing at different places in this world I can say I was in a shiny supermarket in Paris where they had a 40 meters long multideck cabinet entirely dedicated to cheese. But also I was a backpacker in Sicily and there was an old man without teeth selling fruits in the burning sun on the streetside and the dust swirled with the lorries hurrying by. And I was thirsty and tired and bought two peaches.  And those were the most delicious peaches I ever tasted in my entire life. It's so hard to tell - the circumstances are not always the same. Sometimes you are happy if someone offers you a mouthful tepid water. Sometimes you are disappointed by a five stars restaurant. So how to answer?

How these terms are used in language, is there something they have in common; "the great outdoors", "nature", "human nature"? If yes - what is it? Or maybe my question is: is there only one nature or are there many different natures?
