Shingure: I got to say, Nice work! Those things are quite interesting and do seem realistic.

One thing to work on though: slope. Your grading is quite steep, mainly near the tunnel segment. Other than that, well done! I hope to see more from you!

    Best,

Here's a weird thing i call a parcloid interchange... no, wait... it's a variation of a trumpet interchange.... NO!  it's a parcloid trumpet interchange!

n_d love your parcloid intercahnge!! I made up an interchange I think it was a 7 stack cloverleaf. The only problem is that I can't do it in SC4.

TEG24601 You need a slope mod!! Before I make a freeway I always take the area and I build a railway track so it's even as a railroad. I still like your interchanges!

Can anyone help me by showing a very small RHW-4 to RHW-4 T Interchange and a RHW-4 and RHW-4 Cloverleaf. REMEMBER it has to be small!!

Wow, haljackey all your pics are so real and I have a question, where did you find the texture of your RHW ??

I have 2 highways to show today. Here is an avenue-avenue parclo interchange for a congested area:

    14972196je3.jpg

And here is a diamond interchange that has a straight ramp on one side and one loop ramp on the other. Since there is no one going north from that exit, there was no need for a northbound ramp:

    67416057dn4.jpg

And a bonus night shot 2.gif (I love those overhead lights)

    23986085aj7.jpg

Furthur northbound, the RHW merges with a highway to form an 8-lane express-collector system:

    24782178yt3.jpg

On the system, a diamond interchange is facilitated with the collector lanes:

    39996435nj5.jpg

    It bends:

    77438276ze8.jpg

And comes to an end here, and continues on northward:

    49660691ls7.jpg

More collector systems like this are in the works, and they will be far more massive.

    Please post comments and/or suggestions.

politicman: tahill79 is right, I do use the new RHW textures made by SA. I refuse to call them Euro because they can be applied in a NA setting too!

Patricius Maximus: Wow, nice stuff! I like the combined use of the ground highway and the RHW! Very unique and interesting to say the least!

-One thing about your first picture. The off ramps only intersect with one direction of the avenue. You need to make an intersection for these ramps to create a full interchange.

ok, so i tried messing around with the RHW, and this is what i got for a T intersection:

    T-intersection.jpg

nothing special, but if you read my post from the RHW thread, you'll see that i've had some troubling times with it!

jjune4991: Glad to see you got it to work!

-Now that you have the hang of it, I would aim to make a trumpet interchange next. It is less space consuming and looks very realistic.

un1: Currently, no. But it is in the works....

-For now, simply downgrade to a RHW-4 or upgrade to a RHW-8 (Multi-RHW).

    Keep Showing Us Your Interchanges!

    Best,

Use one of my parcloid trumpet interchanges! Update coming soon, like in the next 5 minutes, with more interchanges, from my CJ at simcities.net...

    ~five minutes later~

    Riverton-Aug2011170548935.png

I tried to make it as curved as possible, but the long curve puzzle pieces are too long, so here is what i came up with^

The reason they call it 'euro' is because they have shorter dashes on their lane lines, and instead of a yellow line on the left they have a white one. Also, in Spain, I didn't see a single highway, or for that matter, any asphalt street, that was the lighter gray color that many American roads are--they are in much better condition. (But they have slightly different markings for on- and off-ramps and for the lines on the edge of divided highways that is NOT facing oncoming traffic)

For some reason, in Spain, certain stretches of highway and roads had only yellow lines, but almost all the time they were white. They never have a combination of yellow and white lines on the same stretch of highway, street or road or whatever you want to call it.

haljackey, where did you get the blue exit signs?

I've been trying to make my own, but can't figure out how to have them overhang the lot so they are actually in the right place like yours are.

I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

    NVM

I looked through the thread on SC4D and found them.

PS: I think to solve the euro v. US issue there should be a combination of the two, with darker pavement, and US markings.

Haljackey: I have a few points to make about my avenue parclo interchange.

    1. It is not intended to provide complete access. Room is needed for development.

    2. Cars can turn around at at-grade intersections beyond the interchange, thus negating the need for additional ramps until it gets too crowded.

I'm glad you like my hybrid system. The highways were intended to share alignment for only 2 kilometers, and a full merger would be rediculous. Thus, the RHW turned into a collector.

jjune4991: If you want to make a trumpet, here's my second trumpet interchange (it's also one of my best):

I can fulfill your first request, un1. Here is just about the smallest trumpet I can make:

    33363756ae1.jpg

As for a cloverleaf, I suggest you look into alternative options. Cloverleafs inherently take up lots of land.

For a good website for interchange diagrams, go to www.kurumi.com

Hope I have been of help to you 9.gif. It also gives me the incentive to go build trumpets in tight spots.

As a matter of fact, Tarkus is working on a new darker US texture for the RHW, and it will be released with RHW v.20a which is the next version, and it has ONE little tiny dash on each tile, much more sparsely lined than the current version or the Euro version.

I saw the picture on SC4D, and I have to say I don't like it. I know it is more prototypical, which I highly approve of, but isn't almsot everything else in this game scaled down? I think the really short lines will look disproportionate in our games, as we're not driving with them.

Will there be a version with all the other updates but not the shorter lines?

Fantastic work everyone! I have a few interchanges I'm particularly proud of, but I'm not sure they could stand among these!

Just a side note, the Kurumi site is a wonderful resource for those interested in roadgeekery. They offer a program that with a few entries into a set of data boxes you receive highly accurate US road signs. Check it out!

i'm guessing you're asking what MIS is, sedimenjerry. MIS is modular interchange system. it is the skinny one lane road that acts as an on or off ramp for your highways. i'm sure tahill79 was wondering about that long straight away that is parallel to the highway itself.
