Well, take a look at this!

uptown1435nhtuk3.jpg

Personally, I think this interchange is one of my best to date.  It was loosely modeled after a real-life interchange in Dallas, Texas.

Great interchange showing the what the road pieces can do!

One more thing, Houston_Fan: If you changed your through one way roads to the RHW the the speed would increase for your commuters and the image would look much better! However, since you have 3 one-ways in each direction, you can use my Multi-RHW guide to be able to create such a network. The pictures show how to do it for a 8 lane highway, but if you just repeat the process, you will be able to make a 12 lane highway with no extra difficulty!

Here is the link to the Multi-RHW guide, or just use the hyper link via my signature.

Great work mightygoose! The new NAM looks very promising indeed! Those tunnels/underpasses in your photos (in your link), do they function and are they UDI-compatible? They look very squeezed though at 1 tile long, I would recommend using the Big Dig lots or the Motorway entrance lots instead for a more gradual decent (3-t tiles long), but those are not UDI-compatible.

well the arnt UDI compatible and they are only a beta..... they are basically subway stations.... they were done by buddybud but they were never officially released after a sytem crash wiped his disk. i could use the motorway lots...(having LHD version big dig wouldnt work) but the aim is to effectively use space. while maintaining functionality. realism although important gives way here because in reality using real curves the junction would infact be about the same size as mine. thus if i can get size and layout accurate. those steep gradients are forgiveable... anyway they are at most 1 in 4 3.gif

    Nice work Mightygoose!

I'm busy working on a large Roundabout interchange when the Avenue Roundabouts in the new NAM proved to be not efficient enough... this is a work in progress but its working pretty well at the moment 5.gif

I'm trying to achieve an 8 lane Avenue Roundabout/Interchange, without flyovers merely to save space and keep it tidy (thats also why i'm not using Highways). The Diagonal sliproad's are to keep the main roundabout free of unessesary traffic so everything works smoothly. I'm going to add two more sliproads to the Southbound (its East really, but i'll say South to keep it easy) Carriageway, wich does mean destroying that building, but its nothing of great importance... lol.

At the moment it has 12,000 cars using it, im expecting that to double when the city is fully built... even more when the neighbouring Cities have commuters pouring in.

Crazy interchanges!! Halston's interchange is way too crazy. Crazy!! I like El Burro's. Even in traffic jam, its nice to look at the trees and the fountains.

1 normal Avenue and 2 lines of One Way road... its not an 8 lane avenue as such, but it works like one. It just means I'll have to conjure up some unique interchages for it... something i've not done yet.

    -EDIT-

This one I just made, its pretty much ajacent to the roundabout

So what is the chance of availability?  Pesronally, I'm not concerned with the UDI aspect, just a functional lot is sufficient.

    Crazy!

Heres some of more of my interchanges

Click on these images to view them larger (1280X1024 px), they are older images. Sorry for the lower quality and the web link, something you're not used to.

    ultimatecommandcentredeur5.th.jpgultimatecommandcentrejueu7.th.jpgryansultimatecityapr103qi0.th.jpg

These old images have steep slopes, weaving and a lot of cahos!  I have learned from these to make better sloping, preventing weaving, but still having cahos LOL!

I will post newer interchanges soon in high resolution!  If you liked these, you will love the new ones!

the is a interchange in downtown Birmingham (no similarity to the real Birmingham at all) the two avenues going off the edge connect the two business districts, and the avenue parallel to the map edge heads out to the industrial park. sorry about the trees obstructing the view and the edge.
