emergent, i wasn't planning to do anything to it, i just wanted to show you that it is possible. if you still want to do it by all means model it, but if you don't i'll finish it; i have plenty of other things to keep me busy though.

caliban, i agree, your method is better in the long run and if i needed help, you are the first one i would look for. you know too much about 3d programs when you explain, which might come off a little confusing for some. in my opinion, you are the most talented and most helpful since you know so much about gmax..

I'll make the tube station another time.

Expect to see One Canada Square on the exchange very soon, along with Nash Court and its funny clocks which will be a plaza.

    /idealbb/files/Nashcourt01.JPG

I'n the meantime I have been making 33 Canada Square which is next door to One Canada Square. Its about 100m high and is a nice modern glassy building.

    /idealbb/files/33canadasquare02.jpg

And here's what I've done so far.

Well, that is a nice start EF.51.gif It will no doubt be an EF classic.

P.S. What happen to One Canadian Square?   I knew that was a dumb question. If I read, I would of known. So, Samantha has it and will render it when she has time? (I think that is right)

Its nice to see people doing some of the smaller modern office buildings, downtowns are not all skyscrapers, there are a lot of medium sized buildings just like this clustered around them, this will give added realism to the game, many thanks 9.gif

Can't Wait. It would be cool if you made one lot like Rubrik and put all the buildings at canada square on it. Then put in a few transit enabled roads. It would Be Awsome. If you like the idea you could probably ask rubrik for help!47.gif

LQ2 was unable to render it last night as it used up his 1GB of RAM. He's going to have another go over the weekend.

I just thought I would comment on the lighting (as I am the one who set it up for Fungus). The lower lighting has been edited since the pic above so that is much better now.

As for the roof lighting, I wanted to try to get near to the effect in the photograph below. I also have seen the tower with a kind of bright mist coming form the pyramid. This is what I was trying to achieve.

Oh, and I am going to try to re-render it, setting the render off on friday eventing, so it might be done by saturday night.

DM has three GB. So you have several options.

The 33 Canada Square building is very nice. I like how those white bars extend beyond the building's roof.

LQ2 was unable to render One Canada last night as he needed his PC for work. However, LQ2 and Caliban have been working on some new lighting tricks which look superb.

I've finished the roof of 33 Canada Square and done some night lights.

    Hi all,

I thought I would let y'all know that Canada 1 is happily rendering away in the background. It started at 7.30pm last night (uk time) and it is nearly finished zoom 5 (8.00am uk time now). I hope it should be done by this evening!

EmergentFungus: in the pic below, I think you should soften the spotlights by using two things. You need to add some falloff to the lights to make them look less hard edged, also I would recomend setting the Decay type (of the spotlights) to Inverse, the start to about 5, and checking the box show, so you can see the effect radius. Find all this in the Attenuation Parameters in the Modify tab for the light. It should give the lights a softer more reallistic feel.

I just need to add the entrance details and then make the part that connects it to 25 Canada Square.

LQ2 failed the second render of Canada One but Caliban will try it tonight.

I also satrted making the Slug and Lettuce restaurant that goes to the left of it. This will be a prop which will be put alongside 33 Canada Square's lot.
