Wow lol.  I usually don't play citybuilder games and to be honest I can't get above a population of about 10k before I go bankrupt so far.  Great job though, I wish I knew how to get those bridges to work 4.gif  My map has a medium sized island on it for holiday stuff and when I tried to create a bridge to/from it I couldn't get the roads to link up with it 15.gif  So rebuilding and destroying the bridges over and over contributed to the demise of my city 3.gif

That looks great. Are you able to build HIGHWAYS in Single Player mode? Or is that only available in PO?

Looks real nice though!

Thanks,

Brandon

Yep, SP mode you can build highways as well. 4.gif The intersections like the off / on ramps are really sweet looking!

Nice pics to get things rolling.

Rules on this forum are that picture are no larger than 800x600 so you might want to resize before they disappear.

I see they still have the benches in the median of 4 lane roads. Not very realistic.

    Naviss,

The pictures really look good as I said before, since it looks like you've had some good experience playing today would you mind posting a small review about the good and bad of they game, and anything in particular you like or dislike alot?

    Thank you so much,

    Brandon

Oh I didn't know that, The pictures I posted didn't break the forums frames or anything. (Or scale it differently?).

Shure Brandon, I'll look for a review thread and post in a bit. I've been in the beta since day 1 (June), And I can honestly say the final version is much better. 4.gif I'm over all happy with it. Still much to fix though.

    Check it out!

    * according to list of current journals and not counting the forums.

Looks good. I agree with thw above about the bridges sticking out just a lil too much.

I wish my game would actually let me play >_<

You can't actually go bankrupt in CXL like you do in SC4. The debt just keeps getting higher and higher. (-500,000 in SC4, I went as higher than -250,000,000 in CXL once, and it was still going).

Also, that guy's city is soooo disorganized.  I like keeping mine in a regular grid pattern.  Though, I do have to admit, it makes for a more realistic city.  I just hate wasting space like that because I want to make my population as high as possible, and don't want to go back and replace low density residential with high density.

Anyway, here's my last city before the beta went offline.  Population was a little over 1 million.  I had to give up because the map wound up getting overwhelmed by pollution after I used the cheat/unlock buildings to put oil buildings in the manufacturing district.  (upper left corner of overhead view)  (how do I get my pictures to look like the guy's above?)

    Interesting indeed Navis

I suppose we all have our different building styles which will become apparent as more and more of us get the game and begin showing our works here.

Also that "Sky Tower" looks very fimilar to one I know in real life back home 2.gif although squashed. lol

Btw why is Brandon so "keen" for us to post in a review thread

Here is my city from beta. It was my second city and had aprox 750k pop.

It was the first structured city of it's kind and was quite popular 4.gif

Lots of people visited it and messaged me including some of the developers.

    City centre

    From the east

    screen000110.jpg

Highway running through olderst industial zone(note the glitch at the intersection - after 4 or more roads this would happen in beta)

    screen000111.jpg

    screen00018.jpg

View from the west - the main road is from the highway. You will also notice a glitch which was frequent in beta.

Also highways generally didn't work - so they where just for show!

City of smifT run on liquid gold!

    Far view from north mountains.

I was bored at 1am in the morning and made a DRIFT MOUNTAIN!

And finally granny holding up the traffic in the new and extremely large industrial zone

    Palpatine001,

I was asking for reviews so I could learn the good and bad about the game.  Originally, I had decided to buy the game, but with all the negative publicity I decided to hold off.  So, therefore I was wanting more information....so since Navis had gotten the game, and seemed to enjoy playing it I was wanting his "side" of the story...

    Thanks,

    Brandon

Wow! What's with all the Negative feedback, huh? These screenies look amazing!

Anyway, my cpu is online, so that's nice. Also, highways are EYE CANDY! Jeez.

    Cool pics, everyone.

     Hey guys,

I have asked community manager Philippe if I can post screens from  some of my cities I created during the beta, and he has given me the all go.

So, here we go, this is my first city I created, Rooley...

    Naviss,

Gosh I love those pictures... As far as buying the game, I still haven't decided. I just found out about the useless police stations and fire stations 15.gif However I REALLY like the graphics. And I do feel a little bit better about Monte Cristos commitment to bettering the game over time..... One thing is there is no stores locally that have it. And I'd rather buy it from a local store, because I know if I don't like it Target will usually take returns even on software. So... hopefully, maybe, possibly, I might get it lol. Naviss, what country are you from? If your in the USA where did you get your game? Digital download?

As far as staying on topic, I don't have any pictures... lol 9.gif
