I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

From zero to riverbank

I'm working a new copy of the Bel Air region. It has all this great terrain, but one fatal flaw: these unnatural cliffs next to all game water. I wanted to place trees all the way up to the water, so the cliffs had to go.

Ge7OgJE.jpg

I used the Soften tool in the God Mode Flora menu...

0vRoOhg.jpg

Already with god mode trees it looks much better:

A few MMPs and it's a riverbank!

Well, down the riverbank I had to terraform a bit differently: I wanted a street to come down to the water at the end of a peninsula.

Some wrangling later....

@Dragonxander, I love that pic with the barge and the spring trees!

Also - what is the tall palm tree you have along the streets in several pics?  I use a lot of palms in my south Florida landscape and I thought I had found everyone one but that one is really nice and I don't recognize it!?

@philforhockey51 Very nice use of MMP's along the shore. I might try this as well. What's this lone, large building there? Do you have a link for that one?

  • Thanks 1

how come I can't see any of the photos? do I need photobucket? I got windows 10

I'm guessing you've started viewing at the beginning of the thread as there are lots of pictures missing. That's because many free image hosting sites pulled the rug out from under peeps and now the linkys to the pics are broken.

Would you mind to scroll thru this page 17 and see if you see a lot more pictures and let me know?

Bringing more lakeside charm to the spotlight!

֍ LAKE PLATINUM ֎
PROMOTED FROM
VILLAGE TO TOWN

With the brewing development in the nearby Mount Steel (south), two upcoming settlements (southeast, northeast) and the natural preserves (west), Lake Platinum's village has been enlarged, accommodating the construction workers and land development professionals.

VjCMjNE.jpg

Visitors and new transplants arriving from the Lake Diamond railway always know that Lake Platinum lies ahead when the roaring waterfall greets them!

Busr66i.jpg

Lake Platinum now hosts 12,700 inhabitants nestled in the forests, snow-capped summits and crystal-clear waters nourishing the great rivers of the Kingdom!

yY0CBRh.jpg

Despite its privileged position next to the Lake, our town leaves the water body be itself: no navigation nor fishing facilities exist, but these might change in the foreseeable future.

MIiJXn7.jpg

And finally, city services have started to increasingly contribute to quality of life.
