@Jumpthefence- It is excellent! I can't wait to have it released. Hanson recently released his Sony Tower from Midtown on his website. You should go see it. He did a great job on it. Everything looks great! Can't wait to download it. One of your best BATs! The night lighting is great too.

I unfortunately don't have an update on my NY BATs. I've been busy with the Capital One Bank in Alexandria Louisiana. It's a small 10 story building, and I'm almost finished with it. I should have an update on the Downtown Club tomorrow.

I did, it looks good! I might have picked darker textures, but just small details. I downloaded his Chinatown models too, they were really close to what I'm doing now- No updates on that at the moment.

I liked it so much (it fits well to NYBT, especially watching what simcity4fan12 is making at once) that I've thought it's good enough to make a banner for the team. It's only for this site, I'd never use it for my own purposes. I wanted to let you know before, but I've... forgotten, I have too much to do in the same time lately, my apologise. Simcity4fan12, I think it would be nice to put basic info about real building into the description, what do you think?

While making the ploppables, I think the team should consider a few questions:

1. Do we want to have custom Query Window for ploppables? Do you like my proposal? As I'm a minimalist, waiting for other projects as well.

2. Do we want to have any recognizable icon design or we use such icon as presented?

3. We should consider the menu position for ploppables. Many modders just use standard position 1, so there is always a mess at the beginning of LM menu.

I can mod any further ploppables made by the team members, if there is a need for it. Or make and share the team essential files, such as the custom query windows.

I'm attaching a lot file for the building, but bear in mind, that it isn't final version (the UI files should be placed in the separate dat file).

@Gwail- The custom Querry is wonderful! I like it the way it is, I really like it becuase you included the Twin Towers in it too. But, I think that the title of the team on it should say NYBT, that's what it's commonly called, but it's also called that(NYC BAT Team) and New York BAT Team. I like the sound of NYBT better, but it's up to you to leave that part or change it, but the rest of the query should stay the same. Thank you for making that one ploppable and offering to make future BATs ploppable. It would be great to have a growable and a ploppable. The pic in you signature is awsome BTW.

I don't think we really have an image yet... I used an old pic of the Twin Towers being built and just slapped NYBT and Simcity4fan12 on there, but that would be to big for that. I can't really make things like that in paint or photoshop and whatever, but I can draw really good if you want me to come up with something.

"We should consider the menu position for ploppables."  Absolutely. It's annoying going down that list of buildings in the LM menu, do you think we should put industrial ploppables in the Power menu? And certain civic buildings in the Civics menu, such as Federal Buildings and Court Houses, ect.(even though they function as commercial office in the game). I think regular buildings should just be in the LM menu. How's that sound? I wish there was a mod that could create different menus for ploppables, like Plop Menu, then have a list of the types, for example, one say "Ploppable $$Comercial Service", then there will be a list of commercial service buildings to plop.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

I have a quick and short update on the Downtown Athletic Club.

Nothing much has been done, and I'm still working on everything. After this side, only one more side to go! Lucky for me, an entire wall of this building is flat and blank.

Also- Araan Graham emailed me some NY Traffic lights of his own with some NY Street lights that will be included in the future NYBT Prop pack.

I was browsing around the 3d warehouse, to find ideas of one more New York BAT to work on, since I deleted one I barely started on(it wasn't even really a basic shape yet honestly, and I lost interest in it), and I found a building on there called MYBT Head Quarters. It was a fictional building, I kinda thought it was funny 'cuase I was thinking about the team. Then, I found a wonderful New York Building in Buffalo, NY that was designed by the same architect who made the World Trade Center. It's called One M & T Plaza. I believe it's been done before and is still on the STEX, but I want to take a whack at it myself. Here's a pic of the Google Earth Model.

It's so WTC-ish, so I really like it. And, we are a New York BAT Team, it  isn't called Manhattan BAT Team. So any New York Building from the State of New York can be BATed. I hope most of ya'll knew that.

The conservatory of music, Oberlin, Ohio. it kind of looks a bit like the world trade centre, don't you think?

indeed, this also looks quite similar to the WTC.

Bank of Oklahoma, Tulsa, Oklahoma

And One Woodward Avenue in Detroit, this was appearantly his first proper skyscraper, he used the design to formulate the old WTC.

And finaly, Rainier Tower in Seattle.

One thing that's rather interesting with his designs, is that  many of them have gothic inspired arches, quite unique for modernist buildings designed in the 60's and 70's really. The reason why he  designed the windows so narrow was apperantly because he was afraid of heights..!

Here's some progress on the HSBC Bank I mentioned that I was working on. Nothing to detailed has been made to it yet. It's possibly going to be the easiest and quickest BAT I will ever do of it's size. It has absolutely no detail at all! So, I'll have to emphasize some of it's very small unoticable details that it has(even though it's not really considered detail...).

The mullions haven't been done yet, neither the entrances. The textures are basic right now, I think the facade texture will stay the same, but maybe not the glass texture.

I'm still contemplating about BATing One M&T Plaza...I've been thinking about more of my favorite buildings that I want to do that are not as modern and are art-deco. So which one should I BAT first? I'm trying to work on like 4 BATs at a time(for my NY projects) and I need one more to focus on...so which one?

Simcity4fan12, it would be good to finish unfinished first, don't tease us so much .

Let's play a bit with the team unified image:

First, team name. There is no problem to use both names IMO - a full one (NYC BAT Team) - anywhere where is enough space to place (long site banners, query window, descriptions) it and a short one (NYBT), whre the space is small (i.e. file upload titles, names, exemplar names, icons and small advs / banners).

Second, custom query. Here are two versions of my proposal. There will be 3-4 versions, depending on the BAT type (CO/CS, Industry, civillian

Next, menu icons for ploppables. Same, two versions:

Version B is first used in One Brooklyn Bridge, version A is what I've ment last time. I think it's better than a custom picture same for all buildings - a normal icon with small team sign.

About menu position. I think that we should place most buildings in the LM menu, but we have to set our range of menu order. That way if you scroll the menu once, you will get all our creations at the same place, not mixed with buildings of others. The best example is BSP, as I remember well, they put their buildings and the the end of the LM menu. Of course, any other functional buildings (utilities, civilian) should be placed in the respective menu (concerning the same order rules). The alternative option (subsidiary) is the DAMN menu, developed by Daeley from BSC.

Let me know what d'ya think, all of you.

Files are almost ready for publishing. There will be 8 props of bus stops with different advers (Mc Donald's, ESPN, Hard Rock Cafe, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Burn energy drink, Hancock the movie and NYC yellow cab). The pack is prepared for the brand new RTMT 3.60 release, coming soon!

Yea...I'm teasing a little too much with these BAT ideas. Maybe I should finish 22 Cortlandt Street as my 4th project to work on since I'm farther on it than WTC7. But, I still have the original WTC7 I was working on on a CD somewhere when I was switching computers to export it. Maybe, when I find it, would anyone like to try to export it for me and see if it works on any of ya'll's computers? I don't know why it didn't work on mine, I might try again first. But who would like to? You have to have Sketchup Pro 7 to export it in 3ds. format.

You now what I could of missed it myself as well I was on the forms and I just decided to go to the exchange to check out whats new and I have seen a bunch of props then I moved the page down and their it goes, I was like OMG heres something I really need to download, It would have been bad if there were about twenty props I would never known anything about the upload.

The base is still in the Sketchup procees, I decided to finish up the tower, it still isn't finished, just now put it in gmax. I gotta add roof detail and mess around with the textures. I did, you can tell, the second pic, one of the textures changed.

And, I couldn't resist, but it's off topic. Here's a teaser of my Capital One Bank Building that I'm working on. I haven't posted this pic in my BAT Thread yet, but I want to post one with more detial.

I added little ledges to it on the windows, but they are hard to see. I also added window frames, they are hard to see as well. What do ya'll think of the Citicorp Tower?
