small update to the Guggenheim: i finished the PUPPY by Jeff Koons.
    /idealbb/files/puppy1.jpg

also, i don't really like the elevated rail stations; so, i want to make another one such as the ones of the docklands light rail instead, but i need more photos of stations like this:
    thanks

JEC! im so glad u did the flower puppy!! u may want to fix it nose, it looks kinda like a pig 3.gif. you should release the flower puppy as a seperate lot, i'd love to use that as a 1x1 park.

yeah, i know the nose looks like a pig. i have changed it a bit, and i think it looks better now.
on another note, emergentfungus originally planned to make the Canary Wharf tube station, but he hasn't made any progress on it. so, i started it and told him about it. if he still wants to model it, then i'll stop now and not release it./idealbb/files/canary

also, i'd like to thank everyone who appreciates these buildings; because of you, i am now on the batt squad 51.gif.

as i slowly progress through the guggenheim and hong kong and shanghai bank, and eventually get back on the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, i want to make other buildings, for instance the one above, but also a new one.
i don't really like the police stations, so i am going to make an alternative.

i cannot find a lot of information on this building, but it is an Emergency Centre in St. Gallen, Switzerland. i'm thinking of modelling Calatrava's design as well as the building behind it. if anyone lives in st. gallen or has information of this building please share. thanks 1.gif

Calatrava designed the 24-hour emergency services centre of the Canton of St Gallen in 1998. It is in a sensitive site on the south side of the monastery and cathedral in central St Gallen. Sensitivity to the site, as well as security concerns, led to the design of this largely underground building, with only its elliptical glass roof protruding from its plinth. The roof is made from armoured glass elements of seven centimetres thickness, each weighing up to two tonnes. They are self-supporting along the curved ridge. Because this glazed roof covers the central space housing the electronic control systems, the need for light and temperature control is essential: a symmetrical system of rotating, arched tubes positions articulated slats on each side of the roof, and thus controls daylight.

smart looking building, its just a shame that we cant animate the building to show the tube coverings moving back and forth, now wouldnt that look great. Nice work, what are you going to use it for? since in reality its the regional security centre, are you going to make it a police station?

the building will be another police station. i do wish there were animations, but then again it would take too much time to animate the roof.
    here's some progress:
    /idealbb/files/stgall1.jpg
does anyone have a better roof texture?
i'm also wondering if you want the police station to be a wall to wall building.

the puppy will be released at the same time as the museum. it will just be included as a seperate prop (not needed for the main building) in the zip file. the lot size will br 18 x 12 tiles.
the texturing is the hardest part for me right now. i've been looking for decent textures since teh begininng.

The Bilbao shape is amazing, and your making it in the bat, with its love of angles, wow, what a project, you dont do things by half measures do you. Great work so far, keep it up, it will all be worth it in the end.6.gif44.gif

    thanks for the encouragement.
the guggenheim is almost done. i finally finished every part that has a piece of titanium on it (the grey parts).
    /idealbb/files/titaniumfin.jpg/idealbb/files/gugangle.jpg

i took a lot of shortcuts in gmax in order to keep it low poly, about 48,000 polys. hopefully these shortcuts won't be visible in simcity 4 and with the placement of textures.

I think that what you have done looks fantastic [:0] , it looks like the most difficult building to model, hardly a straight edge in the place. Great work. Of course you know that some idiot will ask where the roof junk is lol.
