Codeword Contest Screenshots

Here are screenshots of most of the contest codeword placements. Many codewords were repeated in mulitple locations, through discussion topics, and so on.  A few codewords were exclusively given out in the Chat rooms, so they are not depicted here.  

For your own curiosity...

If you hovered over the flag icon you would have seen a tooltip with the code word... same for the CitiesXL ribbon (below)

You might have seen only a floating period, but if you highlight the area before it, you'd see the codeword.

This codeword shows up after you upload a new file or edit an existing file.

This codeword shows up when you create a new Journal Entry.

This first appeared in SkiGeek's travel blog

This codeword shows up after you performa a search. Clever members did searches for "codewords", in most cases, by the time Google indexed it, the word had already expired.

This codeword appeared at the top of the Latest Topics button.

This codeword randomly appeared in the bottom ticker.

Ryan originally had his text in a single paragraph block. He then arranged it in as seen above after the codeword had expired.

This codeword could only be found by clicking on Duke87's smiley face under his avatar.

Credit goes to Don Miguel for finding this in the last 10 minutes of the contest.

This codeword dispense exactly 1 key.

This poor fellow,coolsims95, was so unlucky with codewords, he started a blog about how he hated codewords. Ryan went to offer encouragement. 

Everyone that participated in the thread got a key, unfortunately by the time coolsims95 got to this keyword it had expired.

coolsims95 eventually found another keyword elsewhere. Happy ending.

This one first appeared in the news and was tricky.

Look closely for this codeword, it was the toughest.

It only appeared at the very end of the contest.

The song "The Final Countdown" by Europe played in the background until all the remaining keys were gone.

This was certainly fun, considering I was able to grab a codeword.

I found Gorilla in the Simtropolis Blogs: Support and Information thread, it was a welcomed surprise. And I have now spent my whole day away playing the Beta.

Definitely really fun and exciting. Dirk and the team did a great job coming up with this and it was certainly a clever way to give these out. With that said - perhaps we have a BRAND NEW puzzle game just waiting for someone to program....... I could see this "CODEWORD FINDER" game being a huge hit like Tetris!!

I had a lot of fun finding the words and even after obtaining a key still wanted to look for them. It made the last 2 days very enjoyable. Either way - Cities XL will be an awesome addition to the city building games. The published screenies look amazing and the plan items such as GEM's will add more to the game then we could have imagined! I am looking forward to playing it upon release!

I knew there would be a codeword posted somewhere in a Trixie-Award list or something like that! I just kept checking the Admins' (figured it be SkiGeek, seeing as how she's got that huge chain of awards). But on Duke, I'd've never found it.

I was also sure that dirk would post one loud and big on the SC4ever site (or one of those down there).

This was great fun, though! I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge!

In retrospect, I should've tried gif and jpg, but considering that everything else in the current header is in png format (except for the profile box backround, which is gif), the thought didn't occur to me.
