    Oupssss... my first double post. :lost:

    I hope all your mouse and trackpad are going well... 2013 hasn't started very well for me, but that's life, I'm not here to complain.

    Little progress on the Grand Kamellia, added roof junks and the first chairs and umbrellas and adjusted some textures.

    I also tested the Ambient Occlusion option on the walls and it works rather well. 8) But the glass material decidedly doesn't! :rage:

    gk201301.jpg

    This BAT is a consumer of free time... :lol: long long long is the path.

    =====================================================

    2 weeks in London made me want to try something new. it's also not for tomorrow but will you find what I mean? :golly:

    cadre01m.jpg

    I learned lots of new things through modeling this structure.

    ==============================================

    Some good & bad news now.

    -Good! :ohyes:Costa Obzor is exported and was send to TWrecks. Abelia is exported and ready to be sent.

    -Bad! :angry:Montevideo and The Blox don't work now. More precisely, there is some strange problems when rendered in Max. And when I open the SC4Models in the Reader... :rage: ...the Reader crash. Bref, I need a little time to find the problem.

    Strange that you cannot open the models with reader, as even if the models are not correct, reader can open them.

    If the problem is persitent, I could try to test them :)

    Grand Kamelia is looking good :)

    I feel sorry to hear about your RL problems. I was in the same situation last year. I hope you get your life straight as soon as possible.

    Kamellia looks great! :O Awesome changes you did there.

    About that steel framework thing, I don't actually know what it is supposed to be but it looks great!:O

    Ah the Lloyds building, one of Richard Rogers first creations, I think Leadenhall 122 is better though, or will be once complete anyway.

    Thank you gentlemen. :thumb:

    @Antoine. Je crois que j'ai trouvé la cause de mon problème. j'ai réinstallé GMAX et tout semble fonctionner a nouveau, mais je dois réexporter tous ces foutus bâtiments une fois de plus grrrrrr. :lost:

    @Amthaak. Tu recommences à me stresser vieux grigou. :P Avant la fin de l'année 2032 c'est promis. :D

    For the Grand Kamelia, I started thinking about how we are going to make the LOT.

    We know that very large LOTs have a high crime problem + there is a limit in the number of Props & Textures you can use on a LOT.

    This is how I see it:

    LOT_A: the center one, contains the GRAND KAMELIA SC4Model, setup as a Growable $$Res . The "occupancy size" (or something like that) has been resized to fit on a 6x4 LOT.

    LOT_B: the left one, contains an invisible SC4Model, setup as a $$Co or $$Cs Ploppable. In this situation, the LOT is also 6x4.

    LOT_C: the right one, contains an invisible SC4Mode,l setup as a small Ploppable Police Station. In this situation, the LOT is also 6x4. This LOT can also be a Park to increase the desirability.

    Please click on the picture below for a more precise description.

    gk2013lotinvestigation0.jpg

    Tell me if you think that's a good idea or if I'm crazy and stupid please.

    =======================================================

    Damned, I'm already discovered. It's Ion_Cannon who wins a curtain rod. Congratulation Ion. :party:

    cadre03.jpg

    Now that the hardest part is modeled, I'm confident to make something good with this Building.

    More soon.

    How did you model the frame? Some sort of triangulate/tesselate and lattice?

    It's looking really good btw.

    @darn: Nothing special, but mostly a lot of patience to create the base structure. And then burn the Array Tool. :golly:

    A very brave and great choice! City of London has some wonderful buildings and more going up...shame about some of the rubbish they let them build from 1960-1980

    good luck, sure you'll nail it :)

    Wow that is one technical looking building!

    I think I noticed it when I was in London.

    It almost looks industrial. What's its use?

    Great job on it so far!

    Andisart -> Are you talking about the real building? If yes then according to Wkipedia:

    The Lloyd's building is the home of the insurance institution Lloyd's of London, and is located at 1, Lime Street, in the City of London, England.

    It needs to have something to relfect, they could do with having a lot more reflectivity also and a noise/bump map...superb building, once you nail the glass it's gonna be a winner
