Right, i think i've finaly figured out what the problem is with the LODs. For some reason, the LODs at zoom 5 and 4 in the LE are showing up as random maxis buildings instead of the bat model. Usually the reason for this is the LOD sizing issue in gmax. However afetr a great deal of testing i have found out that this error is affecting all models even if a standard box is exported alone, the same error occurs. So i am now in the process of reinstalling gmax and the BAT so that exporting can be resumed.

Very cool and futuristic with lot's of details :thumb: :thumb:

It sure is a thing of beauty and good job on lining up the roads. Not to sound impatient but I remember you previously showed a model for the London Shard, is that your next project?

Great work here, such a large task for one person so hats off..

I recall you mentioning The Shard and of course the infamous Corby Cube. To see both those bad boys all shiny with reflections in BAT4MAX would be a joy!

Thanks for all of the replies everyone  In regards to my next projects and the possibility of the Shard comming to the stex, I will be starting off by re-modelling some of my previous gmax projects in Max which will include CACC WTC V3 (aka Austin Trade Tower, my first gmax project) and then later down the line, perhaps early 2012 I will start work on the Corby Cube and the Shard.

Thanks for letting us know the plan. I really can't wait to see the Shard, the UK's first supertall :) Hopefully not it's last what with this economic doom and gloom about.

Just as a quick reminder, the new WTC complex will be uploaded today in two pieces. The first will be the WTC essentials pack which will contain some of the dependency files needed. The second will contain the remaining files and the lot file. You will need both files as well as all previously released stand-alone towers to ensure that the lot functions correctly. These will include: 1WTC,2WTC,3WTC & 4WTC.

Thanks for all of the support you guys for this last gmax project of mine.

Nice job on the WTC Complex. Are you going to finish WTC-5, as it will be later part of the complex?

Well, thats me done with gmax now. Next step, learn how to use Max. If anyone could provide any tutorials or info on how to use the latest version of BAT4Max, particlarly involving texturing glass, nightlighting and exporting. The help would be really appreciated so I can start on my next project. :ohyes:

    My advice is

    1. Follow all instructions for BAT4MAX 5, it is actually very simple to install and use once you get the hang of it.

    2. Use Arch and Design for ALL your materials (read help regarding them, they are quite straight forward with good presets)

    3. Scour through the BAT threads of Simfox, PVM, Cockatoo and most importantly read Jasons Tutorial regarding glass (you prob won’t want similar glass but it points you in the right direction)

    4. Read as many tutorials re: modelling and materials on the net, there are loads.

I am a complete AMATEUR when it comes to BATing but I like to think that after I spent a little time researching BAT threads I managed to pick up BAT4MAX without too much issue.

What we really need is like a BAT4MAX or BATing in Max starters guide with the basic essentials?

As a quick update everyone, I will be taking a short break from the world of BAT modelling whilst I focus my efforts on getting my new visualisation company up and running. Please note that I will return to the stex but probably not until just after Christmas. :whatevs:
