ALANCY

_________________________________________________________________

Alancy is a medium city (or big it depends of what is a big or medium city according to you ..) with about 300 000 inhabitants.

About the geography, Alancy is built along a river and a lake. The landscape is mostly low and the highest place in the inner city is a small hill where the cathedral is built. Anyway some higher places are located in the eastern suburb, along the lake.

Well, after those few words i'd like to show some screens of the historical center with the most important monument of it : The Cathedral Holly Cross of Alancy. The town center is irriguated by many pedestrian streets.

One of the BEST starts i have ever seen, really, amazing work here. Very impressed with this city, and if you meant the city has 300,000 in a single tile, im VERY impressed, but if you meant region-wise then that's still a good size.

Very good start! I like all those narrow streets and the elevated rail with the train station and the October bridge! Adds quite a touch!

Keep up the good work!

i everyone. I'm so glad to read your warm comments and to see you appreciated those few pics.

Archean : Very nice words for sure ! To answer you the city would be about 300 000 or 400 000 inhabitants for the whole region with about 150 000 for the main tile. Of course it's only my estimations. It will maybe grow bigger.

De Ja Vu : I'm very proud of that elevated rail as it was quite hard to manage the different levels between the train station and the rest of the city. But i really think i faced that challenge well so i'm pleased to see you like it. Thanks.

    And of course a big thanks to Zezug ( the first poster ! ) , Elemented9, Schulmanator, NMUSpidey, Hawkeye9, Dabadon5, Tomasneto, Art128 ( merci 4.gif ), Feliwi, Jacqulina, Viles and Twenty20 . 13 comments is a way much more than i expected.

    Place de la Comédie

Today just one pic showing to you the Place de la Comédie. It was built in 1882 inspirated by the works of Haussmann in Paris. In the middle of that large paved open space you can appreciate the Colonne des Muses. The location of the Theatre also built in 1882 ( actually achieved in 1883 ) explains the name of the plazza dedicated to that art.

Second update and again! With just one screen it shows me some very eye catching reality in the game. LOVE the plaza and how the GLR just runs through it and then inbetween the buildings. Good work again.

    Thanks guies !

I tried to add some more life to that plazza with the LE and i think i could show it to you soon. For now i donwloaded the Euro mod textures wich fit great in the city.

Unfortunatly the game bugs a lot and i always forget to save regularly... So the city is growing slowly, but hey, it grows afterall.

Today i just have three pics illustrating the euro roads and showing a new disctrict i'm working on.
