wow!! Mr Beer, you are continuing to amaze us all!! Very beautiful work!! How much time on average a week to work on this CJ? Do you have any other cities on the go besides Dubuque? Also, I love those powerlines!! Do they work or are they EYECANDY? Are they on the STEX or did you make 'em yourself??

overall, well done!!

GMT  -  Thanks a lot my friend!

selles  -  Yes, they are. They work as park! Thanks for your comment 1.gif

    Twenty20  -  Thanks!

saathoff37  -  Okay, I searched on a map where Ft Dodge is... I think it's a very nice region where you're living. Cheers!

Nardo69  -  Hi Bernhard, I'm glad to see you back! You're right, large wasting space, suburban sprawl and large farmlands... It's America! Take care you too!

Almighty Nienaber  -  Lol, thanks 2.gif  Iowan and Nebraskan don't like each other? Sure both are very friendly people! Thanks again!

Evillions  -  Yes, I do, I have a large collection of custom Lots and I can plop exactly what I want where I want, it's a very usefull method when building real-world cities. The RCI works as growable ones, with jobs and residents but I need some modds to avoid the city decline too fast. Thanks for your post!

    jacqulina  -  Thanks a lot!

sammerhammer747  -  Hum, a few yours per week, between 4 and 6 hours. Rarely more. It takes to me a lot of time (6 hours) only for one city and I play only with one region. I can't have beside projects, I won't have enough time for playing them all. Powerlines works and produce a few energy. They are avaible here on the STEX. Thanks a lot my friend 1.gif

bakercity  -  Thanks a million JKB!!! I'm very glad that you love my CJ!!!

SC4Poser-moser  -  Thanks! The orange colour in the mini-maps means that's ploppable lots!

Thanks to all and see ya for the next update!!!

Good work on this CJ. I noticed a zot in one of the pictures. Here's a useful cheat to get rid of zots so you can take photos. tastyzots is the cheat. Just remember to type it after you take the photo to get the zots back. Otherwise, amazing!

Here is!!! Welcome to South Dubuque, IA, a neighborood south of downtown, between the I-92/I-29, the City of La Motte and the airport. Mostly residential and industrial, build along the IA-37 and US-27 the sector was the first to devellop during 1940-1950 as a residential suburb, which were incorporated in the City of Dubuque in 1968. Activites are mostly axed on commercial services, warehouse and spare parts for mechanical appliance.

Nice area. I like the mix of industrial, residential, and commercial depending on what part of Cedar Rd you're on.

As always, great update. One that that I admire from your city building skills is your ability to make empty space look so REAL. In any given city there is always small parcels here and there that remain undeveloped, especially in the suburbs. You've mastered the art of sprawl! Great job, I'm going to keep coming back for more.

actually, I'm tired of always writing the same and really loves to say something else than how amazing your work is and that all the effort of plopping everything is really worth it and that the overall look of your work is stunning and so on and so forth...

but I can't help myself. Truth is, that's all I can say over and over again because that is simply how it is: amazing work, the effort you put into plopping everything really pays off because the result looks stunning...

oops, I did it again... ^^

    Hi David,

I have two things to say...

First I'm ashamed to have never visited one of your CJ's before today! (Or if I did I'm doubly ashamed nver remembering it!)

Second... I stand humbled by what I see here! WOW! I simply love this!

The sprawl, the sheer vastness of it, reminds me of several farming communities I've seen north of Toronto (Ontario, Canada) the same, supposedly, waste of space but dictated by necessity and/or by the availability of said space. Unlike several places in Europe where space is at a premium and every parcel of land must be used to a full extent.

I'll certainly follow your progress here with great interest, and please forgive me if, from time to time, I "borrow" some of your ideas.

David, you just gave me a refresher course in rural design, thank you!

    -John

TmiguelT  -  Thanks, I found them on the STEX. I can't remember the exact fil ename but you'll find it by using the "search" tool.

N106  -  Ohhh, thanks!!! Yeah, "tastyzots"... I forget it and I used "zoneria" indeed... Ok, thanks!!!

art128  -  Thank you very much, Arthur!

dfnva  -  Thanks Dan. You find this kind of road very often, particulary on old develloped areas. 1.gif

GreekMan  -  Thanks! After Baton Rouge, Omaha and Linvoln, sur I took some experience! 2.gif

Hawkeye9  -  Thanks! Probably an update this weekend! I have took a lot of picture about South Dubuque, IA!

selles  -  Thanks a lot! Not easy to recreat. I learnt a lot from the CJ authors of Edmonton and Different Looks of NY. Very good CJ!!!

    allez l'om  -  Merci beaucoup! 2.gif

GMT  -  Hi my friend! Don't worry about that, it's always a pleasure to read your comments! I'm very glad! You don't need to leave a long and big impression about my work, I know you're sincere!

De Ja Vu  -  Thanks, it's planned to finish this project (not this year...) 1.gif

Darmok  -  Hello John! Wow, thanks a lot for your comment and, you'll probably fall from your chair, but I visited this last september Toronto and I drove thru the Hwy 400 and Trans Canadian 7. The landscape inspired me a lot for building something much more realistic. You're right about a part of Europe, in my country (Switzerland) every sq km is used with attention (sometimes it's too much dense) but it's the only way we have to preserve space.

Don't worry if you catch some ideas from my CJ, I'm very glad of this, I do the same with other CJ'ers.

Thanks you again for your post, John!

ilikehotdogsalot  -  Thanks 1.gif  You put the level higher... So, I must work (play) with much more diligence!

    sEAhAwk fAn121  -  Thanks!

edmonton_stinks  -  Thanks. Yes, all are plopped but they have stats/jobs or residents.

sammerhammer747  -  Thank you. Saturday I'll make an update if I can or earlier!

Thanks to all for your posts!

    David
