I'd like living in Lichen, it is nice and small, and I would like driving around those country roads going all over the area.
A question I have is: Where can I get the tool for making the above sea level water, like what you did for Ice Lake?

Leech Labs: Where weird stuff is made. Your results may vary.

Thanks for all the comments. It is as always appreciated and proof that this CJ is still on demand.Great!1.gif

anxious, I have a sloooooowwwwwwww 56K connection and I wouldn't be able to tell you where the last pictures of Nexis City are, but if you're patient enough for about a week, you will then see the NEW Nexis City, which has enourmously changed and grown.....so much that even the Founder himself, Vallen Nexis will be moving out of there soon, too much for him!46.gif

evermind...or was it nevermind43.gif...lol,that Station looks great, but you have something else in mind on Genesis.

#Leech10, the tool to to make the water above sealevels is called the Raintool and I think it is somewhere in the modsection here on ST.

Be back only on Monday...sorry,busy with family and also with  the BAT21.gif

Phew! i've just finished reading this CJ from the very beginning, its taken me several days to do it, but man, was it worth it. Excellent story mrbisonm, you've totally changed the way i play simcity. I used to play fast and build quick, but since starting this CJ, i now always have it on slow speed, and love watching it develop and gorw. Keep up the good work. 44.gif44.gif

Would it be possible for us to see the LBST in gloryville. I don't think we've seen it since the very beginning of life on Genesis, and it'd be cool to see where all the new folks from Uru arrive, cheers. 44.gif

Welcome to Nexis of Genesis peng74 and thanks for the comment.

Yes we will see the LBST, once we have a look at Gloryville's Update, which will probably the biggest of them all, plus the most interesting. It has changed the most and a lot of story is to be said about it. So I will keep it for the last, just as the icing on top of the cake.47.gif
I am sure that all the City freaks will love this update, because Gloryville has reacjhed the 425K population now and what a city it has become.
Once you will see Nexis City, you will be surprized how much it changed, imagine then Gloryville, the Capitol of Genesis?!29.gif

The LBST itself has changed too, I redid the BAT, a newer version was built by Joao Otavio's Team, just before he left to Uru and then to Opall. Barby's Vacation Center has become the biggest Vacation Attraction around, the Natural Park in the middle of the City has shrunken a bit, but now looks much more interesting and it has become the most visted place on Genesis. The Airport has doubled, so did the Main trainstation, and a subway construction has been started and some historic buildings are still there (like the first Science Center, the little Blue House that once a reader of this CJ saved etc..)...and much more, some surprizes[:0] and some deceptions.15.gif

Hm....aren't you getting anxious by now to see Gloryville???....lol25.gif42.gif

Well, you have to wait! We will visit the next time: Kate Springs, the fith biggest City on Genesis...Bass Bay and New Dice, two new counties opened lately...Nexis Islands and maybe another one.

So be there on time...probably Monday night.2.gif

Wow, I have to say Mr. B, this CJ is quite amazing. I just read the whole thing over 8 hours this week before I have to go back to school(I'm on holidays after exams) and I've never seen a CJ this thorough and friendly to the posters who stick by the story. A much deserved Trixie. (By the way, I live in Northern Ontario, so I can totally sympathize with the cold. Yikes!)35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif35.gif

So many comments and so many newcomers too, I am amazed.
Like I said before, I will not have time to update the Journal before Monday. First the weather is so beautiful here (temps above the freezing point, very unusual for Canada at this time of year) and then I have a lot of things to prepare, like a family party,an upcoming big Outdoor show in Montreal, where I will be exposing, etc. Let's say that I will be busy this weekend, but on Monday I will have an interesting update again with some smaller counties that have developped and some new ones too.

Have you all a nice weekend2.gif

Well RadioheadFan, your torture just ended...29.gif

As promissed and even a lot in advance (two days), here is the update for the great region of Genesis. Again I will have to do this in two parts, too much for my connection, so be patient, the second part will appear only a few minutes after the first part.

Today we will finish the southern part of the region , so we can go northwards to Nexis City and Cedarville next time.
Only a handful of small communities are still left to visit in the south. Kate Springs, the biggest one and its neighbor of Moose Bone to the west and the mountainous neighbor of New Dice in the east. Then we head slowly northwards to Bass Bay and Nexis Islands after. Kate Springs and Moose Bone have different temperatures than the rest, because they are somehow surrounded by taller hills and prevent the weather from the  Grand Nexis Valley and its big lakes. Their weather comes from the south, therefor is a lot warmer. The temperatures for the Nexis Valley come from the north, precisely from Icelake, and therefor is colder.
Sorry about Nexis City, its residential part and Cedarville not being available to see on the General region map, but it would simply spoil the surprise that I have for you.

    1RegionBassBay.jpg
The region map reveils Highway 1 that heads southward and Highway 2 that goes to Nexis City and then to the far west, which has been lately connected with the western region. We can see that the highway 1 just contours the mountains of Twin Peaks, which were opened just about a day ago by the Regional Administration Office in Gloryville. So we might see some developpment there also soon. Again, sorry about the *Black Hole* in the middle of the map.
    2RegionBass-BayTransportationMap.jpg
Individually we will begin with the far western county,Moose Bone. We all remember, when it started with Tim Chula's Sawmill, then we followed it for a few years and slowly saw the settlement become a village and then an almost self-supporting town, but then it stopped growing, probably because there weren't enough jobs available anymore.- Well, that is about to change again, because Tim Chul has installed a bigger sawmill , now almost as big as Razor Blade Logging Industries. I guess now he is doing very serious competition to them . Mr Chula received the job to clear some lands in the south-western part of Genesis and prepare the lands to receive the roads, which then will receive the construction workers to expand the region again. Somewhere there I heard, is to be a big Town with a lot of temporary Appartments, but soemthing really big, they say. If I heard right, they are about to build a town that can receive some 150,000 immigrants.
Mr Chula has a big contract there to clear out the land.
Because of poor reception of Radio and Television, Rico Az's team have installed a communication tower in these lots parts, at the same time it will deliver the emissions to the new towns that will surround the area.
    3Moose-Bone-Sawmill.jpg
What is a downtown without one of Dr Evel's Starbucks. This is his 14th.- By the way, I heard a couple of days ago, that Dr Evel is not feeling too good these days, and rarely to be seen in his Main Restaurant in Nexis City. They say that he has serious health problems, but no one seems really to know what exactly it is. I have to look into this more seriously.
The old and also first sawmill is too be destroyed soon and make room for some badly needed commercial services. Tim hired  more than 500 people, lumberjacks, forest technicians and others lately, only to start deforesting the neighbor townships. That is why I think that the town will grow, residential and commercial wise.

    Population: 1312
    Celebrities : None
Companies and Landmarks: the 14th Starbucks of Dr Evel...Tim Chula's Mega Sawmill...Communication Tower.
Jobs: mostly in logging about 400 at this moment, but the town will need another 800 soon.
    4Moose-Bone-StarBucks.jpg
Here is part of the new sawmill, something big, hiring more than 300 workers at the moment and cutting an average of 2.5 Million yards of very much needed  construction wood a week. The Administration Office in the Capitol will see to it that Lyll Nexis's Rail Company will build a railway to this county and that as soon as possible. Smurfer Steel is about to double its output of the steelbeams needed for these rails. MacVicar promissed that it will not run out of iron-ore and Slayer has started to produce the tools that will be needed. Swamper has received the order of signs.
...*Without the rails that bring us the people , the materials and the convenience, it will take 10 years to construct the new towns to receive Mass invasion of the Urulians and time we don't have*...One of the Rulers mentioned on R.I.C.O. Tv today...* Therefor a rush of great emergency is put onto the rails*... Miss Lyll Nexis (daughter of Vallen and sister of Troy) is highly under stress and asked for 425 workers from the unemployment office.
    5Moose-Bone-SawmillClose.jpg
Now let's head eastward a bit and see Kate Springs , a small farming community that has grown into the 5th largest City (populationwise) of Genesis in less than 2 years. These are already the homes of the future workers for the grand construction that is coming up soon in the southwest.
This is THE town of appartments, a quantity of immense numbers.
Still a big farming community, Adley Hawklyn owns quite a few acres still here, even in the middle of the town, and negotiations between him and the City-counsel are going on since weeks , for the City to get their hands on his land and to be able to fulfill the demand for residential lots as soon as possible. Hawklyn knows that they want the land bad, and outwaits them until the price is to his liking , whether or whether not the price is much too high. Mr Hawklyn is already looking for a baragin out in the northwest for new land that he will need to replace these hundreds of acres.
    6KateSprings-GenView.jpg
The downtown wasn't able to follow the residential invasion, which was a little too quick, but slowly it is starting to get more commercial services and offices. While Kate Springs is the southermost town at the borders of the South Region is located right on the Highway 1, it is no surprise to us that this community has become a blooming town. A direct connection to the South-region ignited the City's growth.
All kinds of Appartments are available here, from the slum to the best.

    Population: 87,397
    Celebrities: none
Companies and Landmarks: Hawklyn's Commercial Breweries
Jobs: 3230 some farming jobs but mostly light industrial
    7KateSprings-Downtown.jpg
Here is a look at these appartmments and stores that reside on the Lake's shore. Most of these workers will travel for more than an hour to go to work, while waiting for the new constructions to start nearby soon. They are freshly from Uru and are fully prepared to work hard and begin a new life and this time with a lot of hope.
    8KateSpringsApparts.jpg

The commercial brewery of the Hawklyn Valley Farms will soon make room for residential lots, I presume , and Mr Hawklyn has already started building a newer version of the brewery in Axis Harbour.
    x.JPG
A last look at Kate Springs, the biggest town in the south at night. What we see here is only the residential area.
    10KateSpringsNite.jpg

first part, I will upload the second part now, might take a few minutes.....

    ....continuing....

Eastward of Kate Springs and also on the borders, but without a connection to the South-region,lies New Dice, called after the famous Dice Family, one of the first rich families to arrive on Genesis. The only remaining Dice family member is Loyita Dice, which is married to Troy Nexis. She started selling lots in this county, which belongs almost entirely to her. People started to buy the land on the top of the hill, probably to have a nice view of the Nexis Lakes and now a small village has grown.

    11NewDice-View.jpg
Not very easy to reach, New Dice is surprisingly growing. It contains mostly retired folks, but now even younger families are coming in and the Counsel is about to get a school and even a fire department soon.

    Population: 299
    Celebrities: none
    Companies and Landmarks: none
    jobs: 44
    12NewDiceVillageView.jpg
And another small village far from civilization appeared lately a little further north. Bass Bay, as we can easily see the bay here, was born by two friends who bought some land to have a cottage far from everything. Once a roadaccess was made, it wasn't too long and more Landlovers came in. This village reminds me a lot of Round Lake Junction, when it started many years ago, small, far away, quiet and even cozy I'd say. Will Bass Bay have a future such as Round Lake Jct?
Highway 1 ain't too far and that is a plus.
    13Bass-BayView.jpg
One of the highlights to see nearby Bass Bay is the Ultra-modern bridge that Lyll Nexis' Company achieved some years ago, considered as the strongest bridge on Genesis taht can withstand any earthquake they say..
    14Bass-Bay-Bridge.jpg
Like I said,...*cozy*... that is about the best way to describe Bass Bay Village. Some of the richer folks that moved here, invested their money by building a small lot of Windmills, which are producing more that 10 times the amount of electricity which is needed at this time, called the Bay Power Corporation. I feel that this is the beginning of something big.

    Population: 239
Celebrities:the three owners of Bay Power Corporation
Companies and Landmarks: Bay Power Corporation
    Jobs: 78
    15Bass-Bay-Village.jpg
At the end of the Bass Bay peninsula is a Lighthouse that can be visited and which is open to the general public on weekends. From the top of this building, one can observe (if lucky) the extremely rare freshwater whales which live in these Nexis Lakes only and that in small quantities.
Worthwhile visiting. The whales come in every morning into the bay to feed and sometimes come very close to the shores of the peninsula. Once a hundred foot long Monsterwhale was observed and reported on the shores, but which the Biologists deny that they grow this Big.
    16Bass-Bay-Whale.jpg
The last stop are the Nexis Islands, made out of two townships, but we will visit only one of them, since the other one has no road access yet. Nexis Islands are entirely owned by the Nexis Family, mostly Vallen Nexis I think. And this includes the bigger Islands, such as Nexis Suburbia and Nexis City, the second biggest City on Genesis by now. Here on the Nexis Islands, we have the Highway 3, railroads and a country road that come from Gloryville and leads to Nexis City.
These Islands were visited by us many, many years ago and they were considered as one of the most beautiful and spectacular counties on Genesis. Well, they still are, and nothing much has ,nor will be, changed.
It is here where the only underwater tunnel for the highway exists, something that Vallen Nexis himself wanted so bad.
    17NexisIslands-GenView.jpg
On a neighboring peninsula of the Main Island, the Nexis family recently have built their Convention Center, now open for everyone. Situated at the end on the rock, the Center has beautiful surround view of the entire area. Private and public conventions and big Corporation Parties have already made their reservations for the next 3 months.
    18NexisIslands-BayView.jpg
From here also freshwater whales can be observed once in awhile passing the *Cape Nexis*. No monsterwhale was seen here.
    19NexisIslands-ConventionCtr-Whale.jpg

So we are almost finished with the biggest part of the lesser settled parts of Genesis. The next time we will see the second biggest City of them all, Nexis City and its neighboring Industrial Giant of Cedarville, plus a quick look at Unforgiven and the new MacVicar Mines and its small village.

Other news: It was reported this morning that the two scientists that disappeared in Grand Falls a couple of weeks ago and then found only lately, and which were to report their adventure of what they have discovered next week, were both found dead this morning, murdered in their beds during their sleep.
Sherlock Holmes and his Investigators were rushed to their homes and the Regional Administration Office puts a lot of pressure on Sherlock Holmes these days to make sure to solve this double-murder at all costs!! and as soon as possible.
Hm......Why were both murdered? Did they find something that they weren't supposed to find?

A kid in the name of Kirk was caught today while putting fire in public Garbage cans on Uru, news that have spred even here on Genesis. The kid has lightend up more than 60 garbage cans in less than half an hour and told the Police that he wanted to play fireman and pout out the fires. Only aged at 5 years, he was immediatly released under the custody of his parents, which were ordered to keep a better eye on him from now on. Luckily no real damage was done.

Another kid that made the news today, was a young girl called Erica Woelfwynde, which made a public appearance in the Main Library of the Capitol last evening and talked about her view of Gloryville's future parks.
Vallen Nexis who came by just like this, sat down and listened to the kid and was astonished by the perseverance and intelligence of this little girl, aged only 6 years old.  Vallen Nexis went to see her parents later that evening and made a rendez-vous to meet her personally and disguss her unbelievable ideas of the Parklands in Gloryville.

A wild cow, one of the inondation survivors that landed on the Tenzel Outlet's Island, and probably a descendant of the Hawklyn  herd, was finally caught yesterday and shipped to the Hawklyn Valley farms. This cow has been a real pain in the *bum*, in the last 3 months for the homeowners on Pig's Island, including Ninten and Evermind, eating every green that they planted , from small shrubs to large flowerbeds. Never was this cow seen, but it left more than enough evidence of her presence with her hoofprints and a *poooh* here and there.21.gif
Jim has been hunting some wild pigs in this area with his friends and he mentioned that he saw the cow once, but said that she disappeared within seconds right after being spotted. Laughing a little bit, he said that this cow seems to have a certain amount of intelligence, maybe from eating Miss Kitty Cat's DNA-modified weeds.

Tomorrow morning a landing for the first time after the terrible disaster on Opall, is planned with a robotic vessel. Joao Otavio, who is in space now with his team for more than 5 months, can't wait for this to happen and see if a manned mission is to be organized right after. While being in the vicinity of Opall for the last months and intensively studying this giant Meteor, Mr Otavio has learned a lot about this rock and is about to reveil its secret as he said.
We will of course get informed right away if the mission has been successful or not. If not, I think , even Mr Otavio is about to run out of ideas.

    That's it and have a nice weekend.2.gif

Thanks timotheus for adding Nexis of Genesis to your sig.1.gif

seas123, hope you were kidding about not enough pictures....lol... there are 19 of them in this update.I only have a 56K (country style) connection and it a took me 40 minutes to upload this update.34.gif

Nexis of Genesis....what is it?...hm....you should read more of the CJ.

Daight Nexis ,(died almost 60 years ago on Uru and was burried here in Gloryville under the Nexis Statue)
    DaightNexis.jpg

was the inventor of the LBST, you know that thing on Uru and in Gloryville that transports Urulians from Uru to Genesis.19.gif
His son Vallen Nexis (now in the late seventies and Owner of the Nexis Corporation) started a city on behalf of his father and in his name, called Nexis City, which is on the planet of Genesis and in the Genesis IV region (map above) , that at one time in the far future will be the *Centrum* of Genesis (I already said too much there)47.gif.
So, Nexis meaning the City and Genesis the planet.....*Nexis of Genesis*...sounds good?21.gif

.... I'm not sure but I hope that I'm not lost myself now46.gif...

Hmmm, I wonder what is in Nexis City that is worth being hidden? I hope Sherlock Holmes is able to figure out who murdered the 2 scientists and why they did it, and I also hope the Opall landing goes according to plan. Bass Bay also seems like a nice place to live in, and good job on capturing that cow.
