Wow, 522 dead in one update.  I hope all, or at least some of the workers in the mines managed to get out safely. 8.gif

Mrb, I've saved all the images from this CJ up until pg 10.  Would you like me to upload them to another server, like Imageshack, and give you the urls so you can edit your posts?  btw, it's not as hard as it seems to upload images to another server.  Go to http://www.imageshack.us , and where it says Upload an image to our servers. or something along those lines, click the Browse button.  That will open a Windows Explorer window, and from there you can select the image and upload it to their servers.  It will redirect you to another page.  From tehre, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click once on the url to the image (It should say Here is a direct link to your image.).  Then, go back to ST, and hit CTRL+V to paste the url.  Type [img][/img] around the url, so it would look like: .

I thought I was for sure when I saw the headline, good thing for escape pods. Poor Tim, only 54, and a family. Tragic. And Vatt. 8.gif I just hope now that theres enough food on those escape pods to last until the rescueships. I think Spring cleaning got an early start.6.gif

An extraordinary update, lets hope they don't happen too often.2.gif

Please keep that talk out of here22.gif
Heard enough of it already, the best thing we can do is to still be aware of all $%&^! going on even when media stops to focus on a single event. All that is past now, it's the future that matters.

Back to the Nexis of Genesis; i really like the space drama here and hope for some interesting finds on Verto. It's really shaping up, it feels like something BIG is about to happen

Yes cowcorn, 50 pages, but also 50,000 visitors (views) soon....9.gif39.gif

The Evil Octopus Man, the problem is not that it is too hard to understand to upload pictures onto another site, but the thing is , first my connection is extremely slow (56K that acts like a 28K sometimes) plus I am with a dial-up on a 2.5 mile private line that goes through my valley and forest and which is very weak and fragile, and also aol does not always work properly with a lot of sites.

But , if you could do the uploading as you mentioned, I would be more than grateful to you.(...and I will grant you a longer life ...lol)41.gif41.gif

Now, I am wondering, will this site just delete the beginning of this CJ after one year, although the CJ is still going on regularly? I wonder!34.gif

cctoide, I am glad you're still around, because those who aren't anymore, I will soon eliminate, even the next generation, if they don't show up. (No use to make a story with them when they're not around anymore, right?)20.gif

Btw, the disasters on Genesis have nothing to do with the real life disasters.-- I am just doing some * early spring-cleaning* as Evermind mentioned it...lol, and making room for the next generation, which some soon will appear.

     *Earth-Quake with 450 estimated/possible deaths*

in Coarseville last night at 19:36 hours.

I went to Coarseville this morning and it wasn't easy to get there,so many emergency vehicules on the way to this municipality, and the second picture below is what I found.
Coarseville's mountain is gone! The underground mines have crushed and I believe that the mountain was a little bit overmined.
An earth-quake of 7.3 was recorded last night, and it was felt up to Gloryville. A big crack showed up just over the mountain, and therefore the mountain just collapsed with the mines.
Now, as Mr MacVicar himself already said, it will be impossible to know how many survived, if any at all, after seeing the mountain. The digging for survivors started last late night and will continue for several days, but even the Emergency Chief has no hope to find any surviving miners.
So far, 432 Miners are reported misssing, only 22 corpses have been found. 28 or so civilians in the town also died while some buildings collapsed and some took on fire.

Here's a picture of what the area looked like before the quake:

/idealbb/files/1Coarseville-beforeEQ.jpg
....and here another one this morning, still showing the dust that the mountain produced when it collapsed. As we can see , the Main Mine entrance is completely filled and blocked.
/idealbb/files/2Coarseville-afterEQ.jpg
Of course in the town some houses collapsed and caused fire and death. One of the death is the Dutch Kid, the young fellow that wanted to start the Brewery business with Adley Hawklyn and Rilian. Dutch was visiting the Mayor in Coarseville that night, talking about a possible opening of one of his breweries in Coarseville, when all of sudden the whole house collapsed on them. The Mayor hardly made it out of the house, but soon died on the way to the New Sholes hospital of his injuries. The Dutch Kid never made it and he perished in the fire that followed the crash. He was only 32 years old and full of dreams.... May we all remember him....
/idealbb/files/3Coarseville-Fire1.jpg
Because Coarseville's fire department crushed also during the quake, no trucks were available. The next neighbors, Black Lake and Treeland, sent all their emergency firetrucks within minutes, but too late for many buildings to be safed,as the municipal garage and the Watertower seen on this picture below on the right.
/idealbb/files/4Coarseville-Fire2.jpg

/idealbb/files/5Coarseville-Fire3.jpg
But with all the emergency vehicules available on Genesis, that got here during the night, controlover the firestorm was taken and the fires stopped.
Power, phone and water are all out.
Owen Shepherd from the Main Power Station in Grand Dam is on the site to re-establish the electricity as soon as possible, power will be drawn temporarily from Black Lake. Rilian, who did not reach Coarseville with his water pipeline yet, has ordered a well to be dug nearby, while his efforts to get the drinking water connection done here soon.
The Coarseville Founder's Park was strangely spared from all these fires.
/idealbb/files/6Coarseville-Fire4.jpg

Two big disasters within 48 hours made the Citizens of Genesis  very nervous and tired at this moment. What everyone now needs is some peace and quiet.

Hope you liked this update, even if it was sad 15.gif(so to speak). See ya all next time with some better news (I hope)......and have a nice weekend. Go rent the video of *Troy* if you haven't seen it yet. It's good!2.gif

This should be a ``castastrophically`` good update. Many deads!... uhm ... sounds like a spring cleaning of old characters. 42.gifAnyway, some characters got there highlight but some may rise has heroes soon.19.gif

I miss the Habs...even if the team sucks!
A tought of many french-canadiens.

Unless Evermind said before me!34.gif

By the way, 50,000 posts is huge!44.gif17.gifAt that rythm the amount of visitors on your CJ will outgrow the amount of members on ST!16.gif

Sad update. I hope I don't cut a lip playing trombone at so many funerals. ( Well since my character isn't born yet there is very little chance!31.gif)

Is two close post a sign that your getting better. I hope you didn't have to go to the hopital. All hospitals in the eastern townships are overcrowded ( I mean slightly more than the usual) because of the traditionnal January flu.

Yes, I knew the earthquake was going to be bad. RIP Dutch Kid and mayor, and all of the other victims of the two disasters. 8.gif

I agree that we need some peace and quiet around here. We will never forget what happened in the past two days, but we must move on with our lives.

Well, we've done it , 50,000 views reached.
I wonder, is that a record of some kind? I didn't look around yet.

A small update:

After almost one week of digging in Coarseville, they have given up to find any more miners still alive. Not even one has survived and most of them will stay understand forever, since it is impossible to get there.
Alexander MacVicar is taking care of all the funerals and he will help the families of the victims also, that is what he announced this morning. The Mines here in Coarseville will be closed for a few weeks , until everything has been settled down and re-organized. Only 2 Underground Mine entries are still open and they will be made sure that they are safe before the exploiting will continue.
Vallen Nexis also offered his financial help for the victim's families , so did the Sirius Group.
The MacVicar Mines in Unforgiven continue to function, but some precautions are taken.
Since there was a smaller eartquake earlier in this area of Coarseville and probably it was some kind of warning, but no one really took it serious, a group of seisizm specialists have been formed to study this phenomina closer all over the region.

In Space, the Rescue ship arrived exacly 21 hours after the accident and picked up all the survivors in their escape pods, including Evermind. The Rescue Vessel will continue its voyage and land on Uru, because it is closer. Miss Evermind there will discuss Vatt's invention with scientists and then head back to Genesis through the LBST (Light Beam Space Traveler). She can't wait to be home with her family again.

See you soon....2.gif

When one looks at the Most Active section of the site, Nexis of Genesis is the highest one there, however, that is ranked by posts and not by views. Among others on the Most Active list City of EDMONTON seems to have a few more views, as well as Digby - East Coast Region.

Edit: Incidentally, all of those mentioned above recieved Trixies. So that cannot be used as a barometer unless perhaps one Trixie is better than another - which arguably Best City Journal would be in a way better than Best Newspaper in a CJ or Most Realistic CJ

Thanks for the statistics and explanations timotheus...

Yes Shadow-Assassin, you were born on Uru, in the town of Saphir.34.gif

Thanks all for the comments.

It has been a few years that we haven't had a *Roundlook* of all the region's Townships, and before I will make another big update, we will visit all of the counties and townships and have a good and detailed look at these. Now having reached the half a Million population with all the immigration that intensified in the last months, the region of Genesis is blooming and many new parts of Cities and towns have developed. But also villages became towns and towns small cities and new towns and villages were founded out in the west and south.
Many new buildings to see and architecture in all kinds of forms, sizes and colors. We might even have some problems to recognize some towns and villages.
Still Axis City and Gloryville are at the top what concerns the population and the business Companies, but Axis South and now also Nexis City are beginning to offer more competition to become a Mega City one of these days.---All these we will visit and edit.

First to start off with 3 smaller towns, that became bigger small towns by now. Here we will talk about  Three Towers (the northern and southern part), Fallow Canyon (not really known yet except for the Oriole Park) and Black Lake (well, who doesn't know beautiful and quiet Black Lake)
I included a part of a region picture, so it will be easier to locate them.
All three are located on the eastern half of the region and only Black Lake North has not been populated yet, because of the lack of accessing the land. A new road will come from Fallow Canyon, just north of it, and further lead into  the Upper Crater Lake area, where a new development has been planned by Brett, who bought a big part of the County together with Alexander MacVicar, only to found a new town soon.

/idealbb/files/1BlackLakeRegion.JPG
Three Towers, as all the faithful reader already know, was founded in two parts because of a dispute between two groups of immigrants, long time ago. That is why we have the North and the South, separated by the Nexis River. The dispute is still alive and both towns have different Mayors and are also accepted by the Regional Administration Office in Gloryville as two different towns in the same township. Small groups of young teenagers have been formed and are fighting over the rights of their towns. Although Sherlock Holmes Security has been taking care of the adult part of the *Townwar*,the dispute between the teenagers could not be controlled yet.

The Population of both towns is: 4171
Celebrities living here: Henry Zeddicton (north)
                             Joao Otavio (south)
Companies and Landmarks: O.D.O. Pharmaceutical Plant,ZeCoSo Computers and Communication Systems, The Grand Movie Theater ,the Gaburan Tower, the Red little church and the Windmill Coffee/Chocolate Shop.
Jobs available: 2248, soon to be raised to 3500 or so.

The Headquarters of the ZeCoSo Company is on the northern side.
Here is where the new communication system are being build  and soon Mr Zeddicton, together with his three business partners,Wren Trey and Troy Nexis, will build a bigger assembly and manufacturing plant in this township. Exactly where has not been decided yet and I hope it will not cause any conflicts between the two towns.
The Mayors of both Three Towers though, have gathered a good amount of money to have build a road up to the top of the mountains, only later to have a lodge to be build in these higher elevations, to draw more tourists to the region, which are very rare at this point. From here you can see the whole Township and see the clear Nexis River from almost the Nexis lakes to the sea.
/idealbb/files/2ThreeTowers-Overallview.jpg
Of course , once a town gets going, what will we see first?....Yeah right, Dr Evel's Starbuck caf
