Wow, this is a really good CJ, mrbisonm! I took two months to read it!4.gif I hope this history never ends.
For your dialup connection: your upload speed is like 28k because the velocities of 56K modems are:
- 56.6 kbps for download
- 28.8 kbps for upload
I hope this explains your connection problems 3.gif

Congrats LK and welcome to the CJ, you made the 1500th 39.gifpost in this thread and thanks to clear that up with my connection. -Bell Canada (the telephone Co here where I live also told me that I have still an open wire from the house to the road, and that is almost 2 km long through a mature forest. So this doesn't help and I have a lot of very short deconnections, which interfere with the dial-up connection a lot. Anyway I have made a demand to change that wiring a few years ago and I do it every year, maybe one day I'll get it. Believe me when I tell you that I live almost in the canadian wilderness.

Thanks jay_allen, I am planning on continuing the CJ.2.gif

Oh dear! I didn't even saw that was the 1500th post here!!! 18.gif
39.gif Congratulations again, mrbisonm, for this great CJ!!!

Don't give up! I had the same problem and, finally, in the end of 2004 I got a 600k connection! (obs.: I am the only house in my street that the ADSL signal reaches 4.gif)

I'm pretty sure that somewhere on this forum, mrbisonm said he lived in Quebec, somewhere fairly close to the US border.

It's great that we have seen some of the smaller towns and how they have changed. But, I can't wait to see the next update.

Thanks pansarkatt, glad you enjoy it.1.gif
timotheus, I eliminated the Freddy Bison Character, because it was supposed to be me, but then I realized, if I die, who will continue the CJ and soon we will enter a next generation of Nexians, and besides I have enough characters to take care of, so I let Freddy Bison drift away slowly.15.gif

Ok...We almost have the Southeast covered and are slowly moving northwards to the bigger Centers of Genesis.
Today we will take a ride through Ivory Hill, Red Poll,Skinner and Atlas (all in yellow on the map below).Sorry, the area on the top right(Gloryville) is not available at the moment.
Just like New Sholes and Three Towers , Atlas and Red poll have the advantage of having the beautiful Nexis River in their countrysides. Considered as the most beautiful River in the Genesis Region, many people have been attrackted to its shores. This River system is the most important outlet from the Nexis Lakes in the west. The Tenzel river system, which is more in the north and serving Round Lake Jct,Axis South and Tenzel Outlet, is much smaller, but also an outlet from the Nexis Lakes. Ivory Hill is the first land that has developed on this planet more than 10 Million years ago and Skinner is on the foot of the Rooster Mountains that reach as far north as Ice Lake, the source of Grand Dam.

    /idealbb/files/1RedPollRegion.JPG
The Nexis River is mostly surrounded by flat lands, which are mostly used as farmlands (New Sholes and Treeland). Highway one, which comes from Axis and Axis Southl, travels south to the southern regions and in Red Poll is the Junction of Highway three, which leads to the western regions, traveling through Nexis City and Cedar Bay.
    /idealbb/files/2Atlas-Gen.ViewTraffic.JPG
Let's start with Ivory Hill, not much of a municipality yet and mostly consisting of farmland, which contour the big fat Mountain, only being an ancient Volcano. This Mountain was the first land formed on Genesis, when it was all covered by water (see Page one of this CJ), as it has been proven by archeologists.
    /idealbb/files/3IvoryHillOverlook.jpg
The only real activity found in  Ivory Hill is in the small village in the Northeast of the township. A small Family Restaurant with home cooking, a little Bar,where one could get some *Moonshine* if he/she is well known there and a Farmers Market, where once a month people from the North come to buy their fresh farming goods, is all the County has to offer.

    Population: 965
    Celebrities: None
    Companies and Landmarks: None
    Jobs: 353 (mostly farming)

One thing that the Mayor of Ivory Hill has been asking from the Rulers, is to have a train station built, so that this village can take advantage of the train also. The train you see here comes from Axis South and is going to Kate Springs in the south.
    /idealbb/files/4IvoryHill-VillageView.jpg
Red Poll, once forbidden to build big Mansions and Appartments Blocks ,is still under the same law, but revised lately. Here you are only allowed to have a small to medium weekend houses. This law was made to protect the environment and stop the township from being overbuild with big Living Spaces.
The Nexis River is the most beautiful , scenic and cleanest River around and having the best fishing holes in the country. Almost everyone of a certain wealth has a weekend home or cottage here. This area is very protected by many environmental laws, and believe me when I say not to through out a cigarette, it'll cost you

Wow6.gif, CJ's must be in fashion again, only after an update that was hardly 20 hrs ago, I found my CJ almost on the bottom of the second page....and this in the middle of the week. That I have never seen before...lol. I guess I will take some time and read some other CJs.

As promissed, here is Bolton, if you can recognize it. Bolton , because of its
Highway ,its situation between the Capitol of Gloryville and Axis South and of
course the University, always has been growing steadily. Also now with many new
businesses moved in and the immigration from Uru at its maximum, this town became
a big town in no time and it is continuing at the same rate.
(Sorry, for not showing the neighboring Cities such as Gloryville and Axis South,
but that would spoil the surprize somehow).

    /idealbb/files/1BoltonRegionTrafficMap.JPG
Just with the overview of Bolton, we realize that the town has more than doubled,
and now it is divided in three sectors, the Industrial Park, the residendial area
and the downtown. But the town has its limits, although that the Regional
Administration Office has opened most of the county for construction. The Bolton
Hill, quite big and right in the middle of this township, is in the way to have a
Mega City later on, and already at this point some people are talking about an
eventual fusion with Axis South, which also has almost doubled in its size and
it's touching now the town of Bolton.
    /idealbb/files/2Bolton-GenView.jpg
The Industrial Park is not very impressive, contrary it looks like it's lost.
Actually nowadays, Industries prefer to settle down in Cedar Bay, next to Nexis
City (the second biggest City on Genesis now), or in Tenzel Outlet, which has been
somewhat of a magnet to industries, because of their low municipal taxes, very
favourable for these manufacturers. Besides, Tenzel is in between Gloryville and
Axis South also, just as Bolton.
Here in Bolton ZeCoSo has built its first Mfg to build their well known
    communication systems.
    /idealbb/files/3Bolton-IndustrialPark.jpg
The residential part of the town takes the most percentage of the area. It has
now one of the best equipped Hospitals in the  region, even better than
Gloryville's top Health Institution. For workers and so, it only takes 10 minutes
to reach the downtown of Mayor Rico's City, Axis South, the third largest City on
Genesis, and about 25 minutes to reach the biggest City and also the Capitol of
Genesis, Gloryville. Yes, you read right, Gloryville has passed Axis City in
population by 3000 now, which has ridiculously dropped to the fourth Place now.
You see there has been a lot of changes. Here are the top ten:
    1.Gloryville
    2.Nexis City
    3.Axis South
    4.Axis City
    5.Cedar Bay
    6.Grand Dam
    7.Bolton
    8.New Sholes
    9.Tenzel Outlet
    10.Kate Springs
I guess, you are all curious to see them , because most of these towns/cities, we
    haven't visited yet.
Bolton is on 7th place, used to be on 11th, and I suppose, it will go up to the
    5th for sure.
    /idealbb/files/4Bolton-ResZone.jpg
The downtown area now has some High risers, such as the Sherlock Holmes Security
Main Office (HQ) that was built only last month by Brett, a friend of Sherlock
and also the neighbor. Also a shopping Mall was constructed to add better and
more various services to the town, plus of course, we remember the University (on
the upper left) that Dan wanted so much here in Bolton, and for which the town is
    well known.
    /idealbb/files/5Bolton-NewDownTown.jpg
Here we see how limited the town is, but already plans for zoning have been filed
in for the other side of the Bolton Hill. I guess later on Brett and Sherlock
Holmes will have a wonderful *All Around Look* of the town (both of them have
their mansions on top of the Bolton Hill).

    Population: 34,823
Celebrities: Sherlock Holmes from the Holmes Security Office and Brett, the Master Hi-Rise Builder.
Companies and Landmarks: Sherlock Holmes Security Office...Bolton University...Modern Hi-Tech College...ZeCoSo Mfg...the former Dice Mansion.
Jobs: 8,529 - mostly commercial services/offices and only some industrial.
    /idealbb/files/6Bolton-GenViewSmall.jpg
Now let's have a look at Bolton's western neighbor, Smurfmind. Remember it was
called so, because of Evermind and Smurfer to have climbed the mountain for the
first time. Still today the trail that leads to the Top of the Evermind Mountain
bears the name of the Smurfer trail, and of course Mr Smurfer still lives on the
    bottom of this trail.
Smurfmind has become a smaller tourist attraction and eversince Vallen Nexis had
a luxurious Hotel built in the foot mountains, the town has slowly been growing.
Very severe building and zoning laws keep it from growing rapidly though. The
Rulers want to keep its natural beauty, soon probably to be surrounded by Mega
    Cities.
    /idealbb/files/7Smurfmind-GenView.jpg
Here is also where the son of Troy Nexis moved (Jadis), once he got married to
the beautiful MacVicar girl, Sarah. Jadis is working mostly for the Nexis
Electronics Company of his father, but he also has been seen lately and quite
often in the offices of the Mega Nexis Corporation of his Grandfather Vallen
    Nexis.
Smurfer had chosen a beautiful spot to build his Villa, overlooking the village
and the mountain in his backyard, but also the amazing Genesis sunrises that
lighten up his frontporch every morning.
    /idealbb/files/8Smurfmind-Med.jpg
The downtown, if we may call it so, of Smurfmind did not change at all. It still
has the small restaurant with the best fries and Burgers around, the *Lazy Bum*
Motel with its spiderwebs in every corner of the rooms and the little Country
church, where only a handful of people go every Sunday morning. Some souvenirs
shops were the newest additions and many new changes for this village are not
    really in the future plans.
    /idealbb/files/9Smurfmind-Downtown.jpg

Other News: In the little village of Birdsview, a young fellow named Clay Wallace
(wraith90) was born. His father is one of the best Skiers around and won the Gold
medal in last years championship on Uru. Let's keep an eye on him for some years.

*The Sirius Group moved in*, that was one of the headlines on todays newspaper in
Axis City, meaning that Brett finally finished the HQ in Axis City.

An Auction in Honour of Barby will be held this weekend in the basement of the
Gloryville Cathedral.Private things of Barby will be offered and please come in
great numbers and be generous, since the money received goes to the Genesis Park
    Association.

Well, that was it again. The next time we go to Axis South and Round Lake
Junction and snoop around there a little bit.I'm not sure that I will be able to
make this update before the weekend, but I hope so and I'll do my best, because
after that I will be going on vacation for 11 days.3.gif

The one person mystery in Skinner is not yet solved yet. We get back to that much later..............21.gif

I wasn't able to make an update of Axis South and Round lake Junction in one post, so it 'll be for another day that we're visiting Round Lake Jct. Sorry, Axis South has become too big....(almost even for one update)

Here is the road map of Axis South and we can see that the highway 1 is running right through the middle and that the City is divided into two by the Tenzel River. Also right here we see what I was talking about in the previous post of Bolton, that both municipalities have touched their limits to each other. Easy to understand now, when I said it would take only 10 minutes to Axis South' Downtown by highway.
Sorry, pictures of Tenzel,Axis City and Gloryville are not available for the moment, but I will promiss that I have a wonderful region picture for you, once we have visited them all.

    /idealbb/files/1AxisSouthRegionTrafficMap.JPG
Well by now you probably realized that the City has grown enormously and I suppose you already went down the page to see all the rest of the pictures, right?...lol.You couldn't wait and read on.....
We see clearly that Bolton and Axis South has been approached and as I said before, they might even *melt* into one City one of these days.
    /idealbb/files/2AxisSouthRegion.JPG
Most of the Important structures are here outpointed. Rico's Mansion is still far from the City, but at nights he can see that the sky is not as dark as before, because Axis South's lights reflect now more than ever in the nightsky.
Rico is right now on Uru,doing a film documentary about the planet and its history, before Opall will destroy it once and forever. He will be there for almost a year and only once a month is he back here on Genesis. Since he does not have time anymore for mayoring and he thinks that he did what was best for the City ,to put it back on its feet, Mr Az gave the mayorship to someone else and an election will be scheduled for the next month.
Rico's Movie Studios are doing some smaller tv films at the moment, keeping them busy for awhile, while his TV-Station in Gloryville will be showing them. RICO-FM Radio is now considered as the # 1 Radio Station on Genesis.
ZeCoSo still have their Distribution Center here also, as do the Nexis Foundation and Nexis Corporation. Nexis Electronics has its tall Office building here, which we will see closer later on.
*What is a City without a Park, a Central Park?!* That is what Rico told his counsel and so it was done, it has a big and beautiful Central Park now, which the population can enjoy. Axis City has its parks around the highway, plus the Canal parks which people can enjoy there, and  Gloryville has its Natural Park that Barby so much fought for to keep and now it is existant forever, completely surrounded by......oups ....I already said too much.......
    /idealbb/files/3AxisSouth-ViewEast.jpg
A nice and clean view of the City without all the arrows and explanations. Axis South has turned out nice and the Mayor Rico Az is very proud of his City, Number 3 on Genesis.- Another roadbridge was necessary and with the budget that Mr Az had, it was no problem to have another one built (on the extreme left side-red)
The garbage problem has ended in Axis South, but still the dumps are full and slowly decaying. Shipping it all to Stone Valley would become to expensive, so only the newly produced garbage ends up in Stone Valley. All what is left to decay here is what Axis City and Axis South produced in the earlier years. Some scientist say that it might take up to a century for it all to disappear. Let's hope not, since most of the land has already been sold for further construction of new Industries.
This City, like Axis City,Gloryville and Tenzel are drawing a lot of juice (Power) out of Grand Dam , and Mr Owen Shepherd is about to deal with the Sirius Group which have already started a project in Birdsview I believe,to add another kind of Power Company, just to make sure, if one fails the other can easily jump in. Fusion power was considered and many scientists are working on this project to make it safe to use.
    /idealbb/files/4AxisSouth-ViewNorth.jpg
Brett has been busy, but he is not alone anymore, some other Construction Companies have appeared and alot of them are still forming, simply because construction is much needed. Here Brett is about to finish a big Office building that will serve for many Companies.
Downtown is hardly recognizable anymore, well as a matter of fact, if you didn't come here every week, you would just be astonished to have seen all these Hi-Risers growing. The dark blue building on the middle extreme right is the Nexis Electronics Office.
    /idealbb/files/5AxisSouth-Brett'sConstr..jpg
The downtown is about 30% of the City ,which is a lot,and most of the people that work here come from either Bolton or Axis City, which has taken its turn to grow into a Residential City.
    /idealbb/files/6AxisSouth-DowntownView.jpg
Monsters of glass and cement is what they are, if you look at them carefully. Only some places on the bottom of these Giants you see actual sunlight in the wintermonths, but some greens are growing just the same here.
    /idealbb/files/7AxisSouth-CementGlass.jpg
If we talk about traffic, I think Axis South has the best organized traffic system in all Genesis. Hardly ever you see a clog on a street or road, or even on the highway. Commercial is on one side of the highway and the residential on the other side. Not like in Gloryville, where it is close to hell in rush hour.
Holmes Security is present in this City in three places, where it handles all kinds of situations. Only the Fire and General Emergency  department could use a facelift. A man with new ideas is needed and I am sure that someone will soon show up and do his best.
    /idealbb/files/8AxisSouth-Traffic.jpg

I have to do this update in two parts, too much for my connection to upload all at once, so...... give me 30 minutes or so and the second part will be uploaded....another 8 pictures....(meanwhile go get yourself something to drink or snack )....................>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2.gif3.gif6.gif

<<<<<<<<<< Ok, here is the second part of this update:14.gif

The Main Train Station could use a better building soon, some say. Plans are
already in the making, they say, but room is needed. Axis City has a larger and
more efficient Station although the City is smaller, but this was done in the
beginning , when Ciroyon, the former Mayor of Axis City, spent all the money he
could, and today the town is in deep debts, which the new Mayor still has
    problems to comble.

    /idealbb/files/9AxisSouth-Centr.StnMed.jpg
The Station is still in excellent condition and also still fairly sufficient, but
it has the looks for a smaller town and not for a big City like this. In all
there are 7 Passenger stations spred out in Axis South and only one for the
industrial loading, of course right in the industrial Park on the other side of
the river (northshore). Gloryville on its side is bigger than Axis South and it
has only 4 Passenger Stations and efficiency is at its max. How do they do that?
The Capitol City though is about to change its transportation system and might
even go underground. Some thought has been already given.
Here in Axis South, although smaller, the transportation is still in good shape
and what concerns the road traffic, it is one of the best. So, there is no need to
build better roads, streets or avenues.
    /idealbb/files/10AxisSouth-CentralStation.jpg
Where the Commercial part of the City meets the Residents, little or hardly no
change can be observed. Main street doesn't change its style and the green lawns
continue to appear on the side of the street. Many of the new immigrants like
this feature and this is one of many reasons, why this City has grown so much in
few years.-This summer already 6,850 immigrants will be looking for a home in
    Axis South only.
    /idealbb/files/11AxisSouth-Border.jpg
Once you go over or under the Highway 1 from Downtown, you are in the residential
part of the City in no time. Here is a picture of the part that has a lot of
green and parks, even smaller forests I'd say. The road you see below leads to
Round Lake Junction on the left and a bit further away, it has a lot of
*countryhome* style houses, which almost follow the road to its township limits.
    /idealbb/files/12AxisSouth-DowntownRes.jpg
The Mayor Rico Az insisted to have a big Central Park in his City and so it was
done, and as you see , it turned out pretty nice. At least the population likes
it. Also it is in the middle of the Residential part of the City, but not very
far from downtown. The Hospital also is located here.
So whether you want to eat a hot dog in nature, have a picnic with your friends
or just take a walk with your pet and see a bird or two, this is the place to
come. (Please note that dogs are only allowed in the wooded park on the left
    side).
    /idealbb/files/13AxisSouth-CentralPark.jpg
On the road that leads to Round Lake Junction, and just outside the City, a lot
of homes have been built by folks that want the *Countrystyle living* as close to
the City as possible. This has been seen in Axis City and is now becoming a
fashion here also, but with the rate this City grows, in less than a generation,
Appartment blocks will surely replace these single family houses. All the wooded
land that you see here has been given free for construction by the Regional
Administration Office. Zoning will be done by the City itself, who is more
competent for this than the Capitol City.
    /idealbb/files/14AxisSouth-CountryLife.jpg
The hawklyn Valley farms still exist in these parts also, although the City has
grown enormously, but one of these days that will disappear and make room for
Cement Giants.- Here the farms work even at night when I went by and you could
see the tractor in the fields past midnight and lights in the storage hangar.
Adley Hawklyn doesn't come here very often anymore, although it is not far from
his home. He has a good manager taking care of this farm.
    /idealbb/files/15AxisSouth-Farmland.jpg
Now we leave with a last look at the New Axis South at night and may the future
    be good for this City.

    jobs.
    /idealbb/files/16AxisSouth-NightView.jpg

.........oufffff.....now...that's what I call an update worthwhile commenting on.....21.gif

Let's put the big Cities on the side for awhile and go back to the country.I
know, you're all waiting unpatiently to see Axis City,Tenzel Outlet and
Gloryville. But next time we will go to Round Lake Junction,Birdsview,Cold Valley
and Grand Falls. Until then have a nice week, I'll be on vacation for a little over a week in NZ.35.gif

and-you-are-not-getting-rid-of-me-yet-mr-bison! 26.gif If I don't post often, it doesn't mean I'm not following this. Well, lately I haven't, but I think that's caused by a severe case of RLS... 2.gif Really, holiday season was one single hassle for me, and now I've been completely out of ST for a week, perhaps. If you see me logged in, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm in. I actually never log out, since I'm browsing internet with my own, password-protected computer and I don't have brothers or sisters. Then, for this CJ.

I hope you aren't making everyone die, because that would be too much. Early spring-clean... Hmm... Well, I just really don't have anything else to say. I'll be in contact with you... Bye for now! 44.gif

The battery plant is made by Peg, but I don't think he's re-uploaded it after his 'break'.

He's released it for beta testing.  Which means I have tons of those scattered around my cities.
