Heh . . . I was thinking the exact same thing.  Of course, I speak from experience.     It's tremendous fun just rampantly screwing with people when you're working on something that people are anticipating quite heavily.

Of course, you already know my motives for screwing with people. I don't believe anyone knows Dirk's, however.  But I can assure you he's having fun doing it.  I could probably learn a thing or two here from him . . . he's kinda making me look like an amateur who gives out release dates. Just seeing if you're paying attention.

Well yes... it has become more popular in the last few years when a major retail chain decided that they could make a quick buck, although most people don't like the idea of kids roaming the neighbourhood in the dark knocking on strangers doors.   Organised well supervised parties seems to be what most parents opt for.

Funny you should mention that.   Where I am, following Ike, the local water authority has been opening all the fire hydrants and purging the water supply.

On topic though, it should be interesting to see what's going to happen next to the banner.
