Well I originally had a really nice region I had been working on for several months (since may). It was really nice too... I bet I could have gone ahead and put it up last week. But guess what? As I'm about to finish with an area SC4 crashes. I load it back up and my region is screwed, all the cities are in tatters, literally. It's like someone went mad with a hole puncher. It's hard to describe. Not that there were giant holes in the ground, but small areas across the cities were missing, just blank terrain. Several cities wouldn't even load. And to add insult to injury, the backup I had made three days before wouldn't load. It wouldn't show up in SC4's menu. In the end I had to scrap four months of work. 15.gif

So I'm going to try again. This time I'm just going to go  ahead and post the CJ instead of getting into perfecting everything first, so that way if SC4 thinks this region sucks too, at least you'll know what I was working on... Like the last one, this one is going to be remotely based on Seattle.

First picture looks awesome. I can tell (i think that you are not basing your city...or town) on grids. Thats a good thing. It adds a tonne of realism.

PS you might want to think of changing your sig.

Cheers.

Amazing start. I like the way your city does not use a grid and the tree/terrain mods look great. I hope to see more very soon.

Dang that sucks about SC4 crashing, I REALLY SHOULD BACKUP IMMEDIATELY...it is the worst feeling to lose minutes of work, much less MONTHS!!! Way to stick with it and start over, very frustrating, good start, looks like it will be very nice.

I'm making sure to use as many curves as possible. There's no definitive grid anywhere, except for the when I create the downtown area (it's harder with commercial). Also, thanks for the feedback everyone. 5.gif

Just for the heck of it here's a region shot (click for hi-res).

Markwizz: Ick, sorry to hear that. Any loss sucks. But thank you.

Hawkeye9: Thank you, I will try my best not to disappoint.

    ComputerGuy890100: Thanks...

Sschulmanator: Thank you. Not exactly started with a bang but I guess it will do.

    un1: Thank you too.

spore415: Thanks. I probably will, not yet though. Probably with the giant update I have planned.

Anyway, after like, a week or something, here's a... teaser. I'm really sorry... I had a lot going on and I also moved a lot of it to a new region which took up some time, but honestly, I've done a lot and the first actual update will be huge, you have my word.

Click the image to view hi-res. Here you can see the Woodcrest PA - Port Authority - building to the far right (it also rents out some office space). Below it is the E. E. Nathan Pier, named after Erek Edwin Nathan, a scientist from the area.

Well I finally made my way over to this CJ. To my knowledge prior to 10 mins ago, I didn't even know that this CJ existed! What a "unique" intro!

You have some fantastic pictures tv-vcr! I like the links to a higher resolution too. The first picture has to be my favorite so far!

I will be back for more!

    Best,

This looks very good, your use of seawalls is great, that roundabout with only one exit makes me wonder what kind of drugs the city planners smoked, but that's just a minor odditiy, the pier, made out of the airport sets look great though. =D

Hopefully this image can explain some of it.

By the way, that building in the middle in the roundabout serves as a bus stop, and underneath it is a subway station and parking garage (the parking garage is under the PA building).
