Note to all: sorry for the random bolding... the forum has been a bit balky with formatting this mornng.

Korot  A new update from Schulmanukau is now up for your viewing pleasure.

panthersimcity4 Come on by the Chicken King for our Summer of Values! It's buy one chicken get one free! Limited time offer. Offer void where prohibited... participating franchises only.

    Hester  You prefer honey mustard?

ky72x  Thanks, Kyle. I would love to have you join us on a picnic in the domain this weekend.

Petrovar Ambassador  Thanks, and I am glad to see you back.

NMUSpidey  I was gonna do a pi symbol (I did in word) but the forum does not seem to like pi symbols. But, it gets the job done!

abcvs LIES! Filthy lies! When a cat is under the bed, everyone knows it is invisible! 3.gif

PhatHead  That would work for me!

    TmiguelT Thanks, TM!

    jacqulina Thanks, J!

sc4portugal I learned a bit of Irish when I was there. But, certainly not enough to be fluent.

TmiguelT  Cats are much tougher than elephants. Why, elephants are afraid of mice!

    Leech10 Honey mustard then?

Hester  Perhaps a dash of sea salt and some coarsely ground pepper?

Benedict  Thanks - and you are probably correct about that!

NMUSpidey  BBQ is good for what ails ya.

Shingure  Wow! Sunny has the same birthday as Gov. General H. J. Franciflora! We need some new pix of her!

So, like the new header pic?

When I read the subtitle in the City Journal sub-forum, I thought you were going bold, not the text. I had a problem with this earlier this week in Carpathia 2, the text wouldn't 'unbold' itself.

I don't like honey mustard, either. Or honey, or mustard. I just like ketchup.

And I've tasted sea salt before, and I didn't like it. Burns the back of my throat. Or maybe it was the seaweed...

Buffalo wing sauce? With some blue cheese or ranch dressing on the side?

And I think meat 3.141... has far greater comedic value than meat [pi symbol], although really, you can't go wrong with either.

Today marks the first anniversary of the Schulmania website! If you haven't been yet... stop what you are doing and go NOW! Now, I say! If you have been... go again too! After all, it is a lot bigger than it was when I started. There are some recent updates - the 2009 State Visit Index now stands at 43 pages (three new galleries and some are now in Dutch... thanks to Korot) and new stuff has been added to the City Directory and the Simtropolis Archive.

Wanna know how the site has done in the past year? Check this out!

More stuff when I return from the homeland...

and the storefront for Schulmania Volume 3 will be revealed soon.... woo hoo!

    Happy first birthday, website! 40.gif  39.gif   35.gif   39.gif   40.gif   35.gif

I see that the Dutch translations are doing quite well, coming in at a second place. Must remember to translate more, perhaps that will get it to fist place.

Schulmania is seeking the help of someone smarter than I am (that should not be hard 3.gif )

I am looking to make a 50x50 badge for the Volume 3 of Schulmania in the new CJ section. I like this picture

    flag_ani-1.gif

and would maybe like to use it...

    BUT...

I don't know how to crop or resize animated gifs. Anyone able to help me out? I would want to crop it so the flag is the main element and reduce the cropped area to the required 50x50 size. Could anyone lend me a hand?

    Thanx!

Are you going to post all your updates there as well? It would sure be handy, as that would allow someone to just read all updates, without the pages and pages of comments.

    Seed Defense Initiative

    3.gif>

Zelgadis Junior, head of the Agriculture Commission, has become increasingly concerned over the loss of valuable seeds by squirrel poachers.

    zj-stateportraitq.jpg

ZJ, in a recent portrait by Fleet Captain Splunt

The seeds are used for crops and for feeding birds, an important component of the Schulminion diet. A troubling uptick in seed losses began to reduce the flocks of birds in Schulmania as well as reduce agricultural yields. A first line of defense came from the installation of “squirrel proof” bird feeders. These lasted for a while before wily squirrels changed their strategy and brought the feeders crashing to the ground. After several attempts at squirrel proof bird feeders had failed, the Agriculture Commission called in technological experts from Robinia College and VAN Enterprises to develop a new, high tech solution to the seed loss and the resulting flock and crop losses.  The resulting invention is a new bird feeder which allows birds to feed and will rotate the perch when a squirrel steps on it, spinning him off but not the birds. How can it be? The perch is calibrated to allow the weight of several birds to perch on it but the weight of just a single squirrel will set the gears in motion and start the perch to spinning.

    3.gif>

Zelgadis Junior has been very happy with the prototype and has ordered them for use across the nation. Installation started in Schulmanicus and Gran Maru and will continue nationwide until all seed is protected.

See the new SDI in action in this sample video:

The early results are in: happy birds and dizzy squirrels are all over the place. Thanks to the great design team put in place by ZJ! Way to go, Zel Jr!

This Agriculture Commission update will be posted exclusively in Volume 2.
