i am glad it was approved, i also will like to ask the dot if they can start planning to expand the rhw interchange, so that rhw 1 i believe can go north.

and on solar we will continue to use it as a source, im just saying that in the future more opitions should be looked at.

    A little teaser...

    271prettyhouses.jpg

Replies and an update coming soon...

Oh, and, Patricius Maximus, I need your approval to build roads to un1's and Archean's new towns... and Archean's involves a bridge.

Nice teaser, dtp.  I await your next update.  Maybe it will shed some (60-watt) light on the precise location that this teaser photo was taken in.  Who knows, it could be a different town.

Wow. I must say that this is a very fine CJ. I really like it. One question I have for you: How do you get your pictures from SC4 into a CJ? I'm new here and I have pictures ready, but I don't know how to get them in here. Thanks in advance,

    *psssssssst*

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties and will return to regularly scheduled programming momentarily.

I just went to export the pictures from Oilville and all that are in it's Album folder is the teaser I already posted and a picture I don't plan on using... apparently I have to retake them, so that will delay the update, but I'll go ahead converting the other pictures and post a teaser ASAP... then the update soon.

    *psssssssst*

This CJ is definitely in the contention for the best of the ones I have read. It would take a lot of work to move it out of that position. I look forward to more excellent reports on the city!

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Mr. Wright: I'd be interested to hear your results... though Nick (Ntq$310)'s word is final on the matter...

Nick: Hey, congrats on 1100 posts! And I have to agree with you about hydrogen power...

un1: Actually, zoning codes are written by me with input from all of the departments, so yes, you can make suggestions... and I'd still like to wait on the water treatment plant until we need it...

crazyarchitect: Still waiting on that PM... 2.gif and glad Hampi's parkland was approved.

Patricius Maximus: OK, I'll get right on that bus route...

    Hampi: They've been built!

thefunktopus: Awww... who likes coffee? 3.gif I want tea!

Nick: Ah yes, expanding the interchange would be a good idea... but VS-1 already goes north, it would be VS-2 going west that would need to be built.

    Trevor: Yes, congratulations!

    Hahayoudied: Whatever you want. 2.gif

un1: What, specifically, did you want me to reply to? 3.gif

    Nick: Wait no longer...

    sim-Al2: Don't you hate that?

    Hampi: It's here. Thanks.

metarvo: Sorry, no 60- or even 40-watt light shed today... Pictures don't seem to actually be saving, so I'm going to include most of the Oilville (where the picture was taken) stuff in the next update.

    crazyarchitect: Heh...

aaglo: Heh, now you can /wait.

Sternkrieg72: Thanks. As sedimenjerry said, that Omnibus article should do ya, but if you need help, just PM one of us.

sedimenjerry: Thanks for jumping right on that.

    TimeMaster: Espresso? The psssst?

    Hampus Campus? lol

That look like your street? Cool!

    astronelson: Thanks!

OK, the Police Stations have been built. One is situated on Kilallen Blvd. just west of Downtown,

    272FirstPoliceStationKilallenBlvdPr.jpg

    273Otherviewofpolicestation.jpg

and the other along New Sibelus Ln. by the street down to the beach.

Now remember the open space by sim-Al2's industry?

Well someone recently decided that now, since the industrial has mostly been redeveloped into I-HT, is would be a good idea to develop it--and develop it they did.

    274Constructionsite.jpg

And it was developed with a park, small bit of commercial, and some residential, though apparently that image didn't save either... 15.gif So I'll have to post it next update.

Moving on to the DHE's proposals, here is the new Southern Consolidated Medical Center:

    2711NewHospital.jpg

As is also evidenced in that pic, Park Reserve Dr. from New Sibelus Ln. to VS-1 was upgraded to a road, in keeping with the DOT's plans regarding Nick's development. However, as the road is up against seasonal tree lots, upgrading it to a road would give it sidewalks, and that just wouldn't do, so I made most of it a passing zone, using the RHW-2.

    2710RuralHighway.jpg

The other DHE proposal called for a new school across the freeway from Ntq Park, the construction of which coincided with an expansion of Ntq Park:

    2713NtqParkWest.jpg

    2714NtqParkWestN.jpg

Any name suggestions for the school? Maybe I'll do a '00' poster.

VSDOT also wrapped up construction work on the new avenue from Ntq Park to Aspen Park, and the area around it is being filled in with mixed-use development. Once again, I need a name...

    2715AspenParkOverview.jpg

Currently there is a Target, Piggly Wiggly, Red Robin, and a few offices.

    (Closeup)

    277Target.jpg

Also visible in that pic are Wright Tower

    279WrightCoBuilding.jpg

and the new International Holdings Group and Virgin Oil towers.

    278VirginOilLIHbuildings.jpg

IHG on the left, Virgin Oil on the right. Oh, and, Nick--Apparently the building you chose was not showing up in-game, so I hope the one I chose instead is OK.

A little farther south, a park was proposed to fill in more of the land at the site of the former refinery. I took this opportunity to finally build a baseball stadium, and am now holding a competition to pick the name for the team and the name for the stadium.

    276VirginStadium.jpg

After building this, I went back over to the Aspen Park/Downtown area to see how traffic was after all this new growth, and discovered another railroad crossing with way too many cars crossing it.

    2716Overpassproposal.jpg

I propose we build an overpass over the rail line, as this is the street most residents of Hampus North use to commute to Aspen Park.

The only other picture to show this update is of a new farm along VS-1. After some of the suggestions I got last update for more farmland, I decided to try zoning more, only to discover that the city had outgrown agriculture, and thus there was 0 demand, so I decided it would be a good opportunity to whip out Chris Adams' Rural Renewal Project stuff, and build a cattle farm!

    2726CowFarm.jpg

^And that's how it turned out. I think it's pretty good, and so I'll try building a few more along that road, as I've got an entire city tile in another region I'm doodling in.

From this point on I've decided that I'm going to include data views in every update, but just as links, so that if you see one that you'd like to see, just click on it. I'm doing this to save a little space for ST, and to save on photobucket bandwidth usage. 2.gif

Pretty two pictures DTP! And there is replies!

Ok, let me work on the water zoning code,

    Industrial -

You aren't allowed to zone industrial near water, but there are exeptions. 2.gif

ID-Mininum of 3 tiles from water.

IM-Mininum of 2 tiles from water.

    IHT-No limit.

IA-Mininum of 5 tiles from water.

    Exeptions -

    Ports are allowed.

If space is limited and there is a high demand for jobs, industrial near water is permitted.

Also, if the Head Of The Water Resources approves of it, it can be permitted.

    Commercial and Residential -

No limits on all of them.

    Utilities -

Coal Power Plants-Mininum of 10 tiles from water.

Oil Power Plants-Mininum of 7 tiles from water.

Natural Gas Power Plants-Mininum of 3 tiles from water.

Nuclear Power Plants-No limit, although if there is a group of them, and there is more than 5, the limit becomes 3 tiles.

    Renewable Energy-No limit.

Other Power Plants-Check with the Virgin Shores Council.

Landfills-Mininum of 5 tiles from water. ***No dumping garbage into the water***

Incinerators-Mininum of 3 tiles from water. ***No dumping garbage into the water***

    Anything That Uses/Makes Water-No limit.

    Exeptions -

    Garbage shipping is allowed.

    Garbage Island is also allowed.

    Civic -

On all of them there is no limit.

If you need an exception just tell me, I might approve it.

Well I hope that is fine with you all, if there needs to be any changes just ask me.

The DOT approves the extension of roads to the new villiage.

The DOT would also like to see pictures of the road network there (when it is finished), so we can plan interchanges.

umm un1 just to say the garbage island will stay in it's current location as we are taking the top standers to make it safe, and in game the garbage island has no effect on the water.

on the group of nuclear power plants i disagree on any limit as they have no effect on water.

on oil and coal i have no problems

on natural gas i dont haev a problem though i would find it better if it was 3 tile instead of 5

in landfills i agree, but on incenerators i also agree.

That is why it is an exeption. 2.gif

A group of Nuclear Power Plants produces water pollution, but so little.

Natural gas, I shall change it.

hmm well i didnt know that, but a expanded garbage island or garbage docks will come soon so i think garbge shipping should be outlined as no limits.

Great Update DTP sim-AL2 is gonna have a nice amount of Industrie now, changing the issue to the name of the School. On some things I like it old fashioned 29.gif and so for the school name I would call it:
    1. Virgin Shores Elementary
    2. Ntq Park Elementary School
    3.Highway Elementary School
    4. spore415 Elementary School, he is in charge of schools
    5. deathtopumpkins Elementary School, be a little selfish
I would like to add that If it is a High School or Secondary School then change it to that but it looked like an elementary school to me, also am I supposed to PM the names to you?

I got a CJ, Waterbridge, i'm not a hyperlink expert but search it and it should come up :)

ok on the update im glad all my developments ahve gone to plan and that many of my mix development area's are going great.

Now in the IHG hq im afraid the building does not work, because the building that would have been choosed would be after the Flint Economic Troubles end. But also i would perfer to find another building.
