Actually, it was born before that. January 11 2003 is when Simtropolis v3 started, and they moved the site here.

I think the SimTropolis staff deleted about 500 screen names because they are trying to get it on Christmas Day that we hit 100,000. But that is just a guess... or a conspiracy... Yeah, I really doubt it.
