OMG, your skills are amazing, especially your photoshopping ones. Did you increase the contrast of your pictures or something? Also, you are very fast, some of those buildings were released a week ago.

Fantastic airport! I especially like the "Castleford International" signs. They're realistic, snazzy, and they make it look like the entire airport was BATed separately.

    Title.jpg

    Update 5

    Taunton - Commuterville

Taunton is a small town located to the north of Castleford. It was founded in 1900 as a new town to house the factory workers of the Castleford Nestlé Chocolate Factory. It was transformed in the 60s into a small commuter town and then in the 1970s was overtaken by Castleford International Airport. It does not lie under the flightpath but can be adversely affected by traffic.

    1-14.jpg

    5.1 Taunton Community College

Built in the 1960s with the new town the community college offers vocational courses.

    10-8.jpg

    5.2 Copsley District Centre

A small shopping area in the Copsley area of Taunton. It includes the indepenent Sainsbury and Sons which was locked in a copyright battle with J Sainsburys supermarkets but it won.

    2-11.jpg

    5.3 Taunton South Station

A major link to the city it is the highest used station in the town. Opposite is the Station Close Surgery, one of many GP Surgeries built in the 60s.

    3-10.jpg

    5.4 Civic Buildings

The fire station, main college and police station are all located in the same area. The police station is the tallest building in the area.

    4-10.jpg

    5.5 Williamson Road Bridge

The RailLink line goes across Williamson Road between T2 and Aviation Square stations.

    5-10.jpg

    5.6 Robins Road

One of the pitfalls of 60s planning is the frictional blight between industrial buildings and residential buildings. Some residents complain about the noise caused by chemical plants.

    6-10.jpg

    5.7 Taunton Grammar School

One of the original buildings, built in 1901. It is the largest and best school in the area.

    7-10.jpg

    5.8 Arsenal Street

A typical example of the kind of 1960s housing. Behind it is Arsenal Common which used to be home to a small army ammunitions factory during WWII.

    8-9.jpg

    5.9 Forest Hill Rondabout

To the left of this image is the T2 RailLink station and to the south is the Oribital Motorway.

    9-7.jpg

    5.10 Jules Common

A small green area amidst the industrial hubub. Behind it is the Red Driving School call centre and headquaters.

Thanks, I do like my postcard.

I increase the contrast by 25%, flip it and then add little photoshopped details.

I do try to add little details if people see them it makes me smile.

Great job! Taunton is very realistic. The layout is fantastic. The railroad is cool, too. I'm interested to see what your next update will have.

Glad to see something one can keep up with 3.gif But in regards to the signs; lotted or shopped? I'd say lotted, especially if that WP pic is authoritative. Also, there's a lot of buildings that look like they've gotten a concrete base to fit with the pavement?

Jesus; GB has shamlessly inserted one of his own pictures in the WP article (though technically he's the only one at liberty to do so).

Stunning. I'm enjoying this so far. I'm learning some fine lessons in detail. I've never really used the lot editor to fully customise the look of my game but, after seeing here what can be done, i'll have to give it a go.

Yeah but no but yeah but no but yeah but I soooo can't believe you've just said that!

Absolutely great, did you play with the colours in PhotoShop or sumfink or nuffink? VERY English-looking indeed - and the city seems to be well rich, judging by the size of the local MINIs...

Keep updates coming and don't be giving me East Anglia evils!

Wow, you're airport is really amazing, it really reminds me a bit of British airports like Heathrow or Stansted! And your cities look ver British as well, excellent relotting! Keep it up!

The last update was over a year ago...
