I'm an exchange student at U of T, and I'm living just North of Nathan Philips Square. You're doing an awesome job with the region - keep it up! :D It's so cool seeing the city you live in being recreated like this. I've love a photo of the old Colony Hotel (now a U of T residence) are (at University and Dundas), and of U of T, too. Also, it would be awesome if one of the very talented guys on here could recreate the Skydome, and perhaps the ACC too! 25.gif

If a true recreation is sought, then may I suggest that you look into using Toronto's New (2003) Official Plan and zoning maps.

What a great job on the city! I especially love the City Hall building. The downtown looks great and it was neat to see Ontario Place, the Exhibition grounds, the accurate streets, etc. Nice work! I have been tempted to make my own Toronto and now I am totally intimidated.

I have lived in both Toronto and NYC and they are, without a doubt, the centres/centers of their respective countries, financially, socially, and culturally. And here's my own bit of esoteric trivia to add: 10 million people live within a 60 mile (100 km) radius of Toronto (not including the US part that is within that radius). For a country of about 30 million people, that means that one-third of Canadians leave within about an hour's drive of Toronto!

For the neighbourhood of Rosedale, from just North of Bloor to about St. Clair and from Yonge St. to the Don Valley (right across Bayview) you should zone it low-density residential. Then the R$$$ will stay there as everything around it becomes high density. Did you include Mount Pleasant cemetary? Are you going to put something in for Casa Loma? [i can't imagine what, though. That may take some searching through the lot exchange.]

Is there a way you can make Jarvis distressed so the streetwalkers show up? Maybe there is someone who has made a rainbow flag prop and you can put it at Church and Wellesley?

I would love to see some close-up screen shots of Rosedale, Yorkville, and Bloor West Village, including the bit just North of High Park. [memories...]

One of the most major traffic issues in Toronto is the way the highways go in a square around downtown, with only the Gardiner leading downtown. There was, once upon a time, a plan to extend the Allen Expressway right into downtown and connect it to the Gardiner. That is why it dead-ends in such a stupid way at Eglinton. There is a nice empty valley just beyond it and the city actually appropriated all of the land, including a bunch of buildings on Spadina Road. The Allen extention could be built right on top of Vaughan Road and continue across Bathurst, south of Casa Loma, and then through the annex and just west of Spadina. Sure, some of Little Italy would be lost, and Kensington Market would be right against the highway ramparts, but it sure would ease a lot of congestion. Can you clone your city and try it in the clone just to see what would happen?

I am looking forward to your updates.

Made with old technology too. Not saying that this one isn't good, but that SC2K one is amazing. (I'm sure he won't mind me posting this, this CJ seems to have died..)

Actually the Largest City in Sq. Kilometres is Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Albeta at over 60 000 sq. km, which just a little smaller than Belgium. The second biggest is Mount Isa in Australia at about 50 000 sq. km

Yes, I think this CJ has died as well. What a terrible shame. I suppose I could try making one, as I am from Toronto, but I could definately use some help. Anyone want to provide some assistance and maybe work on it together?
