Hi I just have a quick question about the NAM.

On the simcity section of skyscrapercity.com, a user posted pictures of their city that contained the turning lane roads, IE avenues with turning lanes in them. So how would someone of the general public have access to something that is "under development", or are there just BETA's avaliable?

Thanks 9.gif

Actually, there is a mod for Turning Lane Avenues, but the one you've seen thus far is just eye-candy; that is, there's no function to them.  However there is a functioning Turning Lane Avenue project going on at SC4Devotion.  You can follow it's development there.  Hope that answers your question!

PS: Sorry I couldn't find the eye-candy TLA, but I believe it's on the STEX somewhere.

Keep calm and take photographs.

@Cleaner475...

Haljackey is not the person to be asking for updates.. He is not part of the team. The official RHW Thread moved a while back and updates are now being posted at SC4Devotion at this link:

https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=990.1140

There has been much activity and due to the recent locking of all RHW files it seems as though we may have something on the horizon.

It seems as if they are going to release it on December 24, 2007 for all the hype about it...and today's the 26th...and if there's this much hype now, SC4Devotion servers might end up as a black crispy pile of smoking rubble and a 404 Not Found message resulting when you type " https://www.sc4devotion.com/ " into your browser (due to millions of posts in the RHW development thread)

Well I may be too dumb but I want someone to tell me how to build roundabouts. I have the latest update of NAM and still can't build big roundabouts. The only roundabout I can create is very small and cannot support more than one link to a street or avenue. How can I build big roundabouts?...

Thanks in advance 4.gif

Thats a question I was just about to ask... How do you build avenue roundabouts? I know there is a button in the latest release, but either that doesn't seem to work, or I don't know how to use it, can anyone help with this?

GT and Andymcnab- There should be an icon in the roads menu for roundabouts... You can select from 2 roundabouts or a Y-intersection

that means you probably installed something in the wrong order or a conflicting mod, try reinstalling whole NAM, you must have june 07 NAM and then Jan 08 NAM.

Any help for this?quote>

When you get choppy movement, it normally results from only one thing.. you're pushing your pc to its max and it is failing to keep up. This is not uncommon nowand then with SC4 , but if your system is routinely acting like that, I'd say you've about reached your hardware setup limits.

And when you reach hardware limits almost anything can cause your system to crash.. If you believe you have the NAM properly installed, and have reviewed the documented steps to check it,  it probably is ok.. you just need to strip things out until your system can function .. or you need to upgrade your system..

I guess what I'm saying .. and what it seems you are saying yourself, is that this probably isn't a NAM issue.

Right then, I apologise for my previous rudeness Explodingsims, however I don't like it when people don't actually read my post properly.

After some digging around and what not, and some helpful guidence from someone who did read my post properly (warrior, thank you) I managed to sort the situation. I discovered a remote file in the backwaters of my massive plugin folder that was conflicting...

I am still having trouble with sims using cars and taking the long way instead of using the subway system that is shorter and much faster than comuting to work by cars. I installed the latest verison of NAM and I installed the essential and the update. Does NAM force the sims to take the fastest route? Also, NAM doesn't allow me to place the highway ramps right next to the other highway ramps. It only allows me to place them at least one tile away from the other ramps.

your elevated heavy rail station is very hard to place out in the city because it doesent look good when its only 3 tiles and the forth one is a wall and the 5the is the bridge for the road the station shoud be 4 tiles long so that the bridge would get over the road/street

otherwise the station you made is great!

I've got NAM, but my keyboard doesn't have Home/End keys. (Compact laptop, y'know.) Can I still rotate the puzzle pieces?

All keyboards use HOME/END keys.. you may have to press a "helper key".. and no I don't think there is any other way.. that game is designed that way.. not just the NAM

Actually, it's just photoshop. BTW: I don't mind having other people using my pictures, as long as credit is given like it was in that particular post.
